Considering that the Zogratis siblings original magic abilities were to do with the body, it isn't that much of a stretch to believe that Lucius has some sort of mind magic that allows him to take control of someone's mind.

The whole thing with Yuno's mom, at least for me, defiantly raises some red flags over how she's still alive; considering it was made out to be both in the manga and anime, she'd died. Of course, it could be that she wasn't hit with a fatal blow compared to Yuno's father, but there's something that just doesn't feel right. It could be a trap of some sort. To either keep Yuno in the Spade Kingdom or something, who knows where the story will go. As for the whole Julius, the twist at the end was heartbreaking when you look at how much he wanted to change the Clover Kingdom for the better, to end discrimination, classism, and inequality. As for Julius's reaction, I think it's genuine because it could be that one; Lucius left the Spade Kingdom to do more devil research and found a very young Julius who, as we've seen, is a big magic otaku. Took advantage of him by promising more magic power and literally having all the time in the world to learn and see different types of magic to his content and erased his memories of that encounter. Especially when Julius mentions people who use time magic and their Grimoire having no cover was confusing as to why it is only his and not anyone else's, which is probably our first major clue about his true intentions. Two, Lucius left the Spade Kingdom to do his research and went through that great Mana field that separates the Spade and the other Kingdoms; his body became more fragile that he probably forced a merge between a young Julius. The latter doesn't remember anything at all. Or three Lucius created the personality of Julius to trick everyone and hide in plain sight until his plan can finally happen. Still, he has played the role of Julius for so long that Julius thinks that he is a natural person. Also, I just think how Julius and Lucius almost have the exact spelling; the only difference is the "L" place meant and "J" and "C" in the names.
Funny how nobody questioned Julius having two magic types until the mentioning of a fourth Zogratis Sibling. And we already know what his primary type is. It's got something to do with transformation. Did anybody else find it weird how Julius was the only known mage to change form besides Gray? And still be able to use Time Magic? He always took the form of an elderly woman whenever he went out on his magic excursions.

It was going to revolutionize magic by giving people with lower magic output like Magna and other commoners the ability to take on those with higher magic levels like Noelle or Leo. But! Julius found it and repurposed it. In the event of his demise a split second Time Spell would kick in and basically give Julius a reset. Aging him back up from an infant. Unfortunately he only stored 13 years worth of time in it. OR SO HE THOUGHT! going by Lucius's appearance I'd say he stored more than 40 years worth. So when the magic kicked in 13 went to Julius while the rest went to Lucius.

personally my theory is that the Julius we know and love is actually astaroth, who is said to be a good/humane devil im mythology. maybe part of lucius' contract to have a functioning body was for astaroth to possess him for a certain amount of time, where he was able to influence astaroth to do exactly what he needed subconsciously. the whole idea of a good soul taking over an evil human is a really cool reversal of the norm imo
i think julius is not bad, i think he is truly genuine person itself, a created persona by lucious to be used so that he can hide competely and use julius and lucious by the power of time devil sees everything in the future and planned everything

I remember all the theories of asta's demon's name being Roth for Astaroth and people being dissapointed it wasn't. Who would have thought that astaroth would still end up appearing? And also, I highly doubt that the prince of a rival nation would end up becoming the clover wizard king unless he becomes the 1st Spade Kingdom Wizard King.
I'm going to make a prediction that Yami heard Charlotte (and has probably known for awhile) but he just wants her to say it to him when he's not dying.
My theory is that Julius was created from a change in the timeline. I believe Lucius was the original timeline personality but something happened either when he gained the power of astaroth or because of it, so he changed the timeline from the beginning which also changed him. However because he was a time magic user he could shield himself from the changes and slowly recover and what we see now is him and Julius merging/ possessing him because he has stronger than the current Julius.

The last piece of creating a sentient life would be mind magic possibly in his possession. We also see that Damnatio seems to be blocked as if he is unconscious that could also indicate the mind magic. Lucius could also be possessing Julius body and have brainwash Julius in thinking that time magic is his natural magic...

Sometime in the past, Lucius Zogratis had gone through a trial to receive a contract with another devil. The devil which Lucius had to face was Astroroth himself. It was likely Astroroth was summon. Portraying Astroroth as just another villain is a violation of the truth about Astroroth's caring for humanity. Instead of wondering what happen to Astrorth after the trial, all I can say is that Lucius had trick Astroroth during the trial. Therefore winning the trial. Then Astroroth was force to develop a contract with Lucius against his will. What Lucius has received from his contract with Astroroth has included the ability to walk again. Maybe Astroroth is playing Lucius for a fool. Yet since Lucius is Astroroth's master, he is force to obey every order from his master even when the order is against Astroroth's true nature. It is likely Julius is an avatar of Astroroth. If the series comes to an end earlier than expected, it is going to be a major shame. Tabata can still continue to do the series as its creator. It seems that Tabata's original ideal for the series is a Trilogy with a follow fourth series which serves as the perfect last series. For Lucius Zogratis, he has turn out to the series' main villain. Yet it seems that the Goddess is going to have the last laugh. It seems that Astroroth is in agreement with Lucius. Yet I have a lot of doubts over Tabata having Astroroth to be one of the villains. For him being a villain all long contradicts the truth of Astroroth being the only devil ruler who cares for humanity. Yet maybe at the end, Astroroth is going to have one of the two last laughs. You do realize your whole theory is meaningless considering the manga already explained that Zagred used his Word Soul magic to imitate Light magic, so as the elves were killed they assumed that it was the Lumiere's fault since he had light magic.
It could be that Astaroth died somehow, perhaps by stopping time during the spade kingdom war, Hence why 1. The time there doesn't seem to flow right. 2. Why the clock is never right and 3. Why yuno's mother seemed not to have changed a bit cause astaroth stopped time to save people but in doing so he was killed or nearly killed. And Lucius intends to use that heart to bring him back
Lucius is definitely the main host, he created Julius with his transformation magic to bring Yami and William together. Lucius probably maintained as Julius to a point where an altered mindset was created so he wouldn’t remember Lucius.
I know this may be crazy, but I made the Elfen Clover theory by comparing these three possible personalities in a body in Black Clover to Lucy/Kaede from the manga version of Elfen Lied. My Elfen Clover theory suggests Lucius did a contract with Astaroth and created the Julius persona for his and his siblings goal to reform the world with magic. Though Lucius, not wanting to use force as much as possible for some reason, decided to use his wits instead. Why reform with magic? I guess it was because these four saw the world as messed up with discrimination especially with magic, so they made that goal or something. A noble cause, but with a rather terrible way of doing it: by conquering lands and territory. And why the Lucy/Kaede comparison? Because that's how she wanted to get along with humans being a Diclonius queen; through split personalities. Here are my three possible personalities for Lucius Zogratis with the comparison to each personality of Lucy/Kaede. Lucius Zogratis (Lucy/Kaede): The main personality. World-weary and with a goal to reform people with powers, with force or not. Even seeks out help from their own kin (siblings conquering lands and silpelit Diclonius spreading their virus). Deep down, like Lucy, Luci (pun intended) probably wants the best for others and himself so he uses those assets of his kin, but he also needs help. From a devil. And this is where Astaroth enters. Astaroth (DNA Voice): Now, DNA Voice is the evil instinct of Lucy, telling her to destroy humans. Now, in IRL lore, Astaroth is nicer and helps humans who won't use him for wicked goals. Yet, this can be twisted into something worse in Black Clover. Lucius wants people to be better by using magic, so Astaroth probably thought that was noble and decided to help him in his own twisted way, serving as a guide like the DNA Voice. Some of you may think devils are confirmed not to be evil, but I would like to say that could be an instinct they manage to repress and show at the right times. Even Liebe can be kind of mean sometimes! The same way the DNA Voice managed to get along with a human (Kouta) at the end of Elfen Lied anyway. Probably, Astaroth and Lucius just want everybody to get along with each other and them, but they know this cannot be done with a disguise persona. One that can charm everyone and receive warmth and love, too. But this could be their downfall. Julius Novachrono (Nyū): No one suspected Nyū to be the ruthless Diclonius queen Lucy until the end and no one suspected the lovable, dorky, generous, heroic Julius to be a devil-possessed Lucius Zogratis until the end either! Julius is probably a persona made to interact freely with the Clover Kingdom and at the same time gain the respect of everybody to let their guards down, like Nyū with the Maple Inn. However, it seems like both Lucius and Lucy got attached to their alter egos and wanted to stay in them. Judging by Julius's reaction to finding out he was the carrier of the time devil, he probably enjoyed the way he got along with others and how they got along with him in that disguise and was aware he could never get that same warmth, love and sense of equality and companionship in his original form the same with Lucy pushing back her original self behind the Nyū personality to stay with those she treasures. When reminded of such things, this triggers the original menacing personality to arise. Maybe, this could be the key to defeating Lucius after all; use this alter ego that is finally self-aware of his true self to defeat him, the same way the innocent, sweet Nyū and the guilt-ridden but noble Lucy wanted their body to be destroyed once and for all to stop the carnage. (P.S. - My speculation as to why he suddenly went from wheelchair man to suddenly standing up could be because he seeked magical help or maybe got his shit together and just taught himself to walk. It's fiction; anything could happen.)

Lucius is something special, I'm not sure how to explain it but he might be something similar to how zenon was right before he died to yuno, because if you remember that fight, zenon used the last ditch effort of having Beelzebub fully take over his body. That might be what Lucius did but he survived, he mightve done it purely for more power and after he was completely taken over he possessed a young Julius or something. I'm not sure I believe that julius would go through all this trouble just to be the 4th zogratis sibling, it seems too cliche and basic. I feel like it would be something more complex. I haven't personally read the chapter yet but it's obvious something else is at play here, like him talking about something not adding up, and feeling uneasy, there's no way someone is that desperate to fill their role that they talk like that even when no one is around, because he was alone. Or it could even just be an altered mind Julius really is just Lucius with an altered mind to make him believe he's the wizard king. Or he could genuinely just be the 4th zogratis sibling in disguise. Idk that's just my thoughts

This is definitely different than the William and Patry. Mostly cause William knew of Patry. Lucius more than likely has been hiding away in Julius building his power. But as we know, devils have a hard time taking over their host, especially a powerful / unwilling host. So Julius remained in control and Lucius kept himself hidden while trying to guide Julius and the Clover Kingdom to the Spade kingdom. The Elven arc was incredibly useful boost to Lucius plan as it helped weaken Julius. But rather than letting Julius die and losing his host and being sent back, Lucius kept Julius barely alive. Which would explain why they couldn't figure out Julius reverting to a kid. With Julius weakened, Lucifero's physical heart being in the human world, Lucius can now take over Lucius' heart and physically manifest within the human world. Breaking his ties to Julius. This will more than likely lead to Julius dying with Lucius separating from him and sapping away the time magic.
What if Julius is the second personality and something happened to where Lucas became repressed and needed to recover via magic accident such as devil contract etc and so Julius took over without any knowledge of Lucas then time moves forward Lucas wakes up but decides he and astatoth can use Julius and dark triad to their own advantage as to where Julius came from I think there was a good aspect that was thought to have been erased but through trauma and regret and accident it manifested into a new personality that takes over to let Lucas recover I also think Lucas will kill asta thanks to Lucas whispering in Julius’s mind about devil magic facts and fake predictions letting Julius think it was just his research that helped him and not Lucas

I think Marx is working with Lucius. As with his mind magic, potentially powered up by Demon magic. Was able to create the split personality that we know and love that is Julious. To help infiltrate the Clover kingdom with the constant desire to be wizard king with Marx helping him ensure he remains on their goals.

He doesnt seem to have anything to gain with all the additional time he spent helping the magic knights in his disguises. However i do beleive that like patri and william he may have someone within him and maybe the soul of astaroth or lucius zogratis. Lucius zorgratis was shown to be in a chair in the manga this maybe because there was something wrong with his body which didnt allow him to fully accept the devil and so he had secretly made small manipulations to julius so that it would follow his plan. Resulting in his body being reset to when he was a child before whatever caused the damage to his body happened. Maybe julius/lucius has soul magic. Given that all the other sibling have bone, blood and body magic all that remains is a soul. This would also explain julius and his disguises maybe he can take the appearence of the people whos souls he has taken. But he has been doing it thinking it is part of his time magic or due to home magical gadget. Was really irritated by the ending of the spade arc and the boring villains but this gives me some renewed hope that tabata can get the story back to what it was like in the elf arc which was incredible. Julius would make a much more interesting villain and would really put everyone on edge as he hsaved pretty much all of them 10 times over.

Julius kind of gives me Homura Akemi vibes. His magic is time-based, so perhaps he was turning time back over and over again to try and save the Clover Kingdom hence why he knew there were very specific outcomes of what could happen to Asta since he has seen them all before, and now he wants to be put down by Asta so the demon within him cannot kill those he loves, and so he can ensure that Asta is strong and capable enough to be the Wizard King the Clover Kingdom needs someday.
I have theory Julius kept rewinding time for the Best possible outcome. this means asta and everyone else died multiple times each battle they fought and lost to lucifero until Julius Rewinding time for them to win so he could lucifero’s heart
Zenon and Allen are Yuno and asta from a different time-line. Captain Yami is also another character from another time-line which is why he has no memories of being in clover kingdom.

I believe that Julius is/was astaroth and the shogun is possibly contracted or was granted insight by astaroth and that Lucius is actually asmodeus due to his and his siblings views being the exact same as his and the body magic they have could make a body for asmodeus because he doesnt show anyone his true form and maybe to also heal his injuries from when he was sent to hell and everything we see is ritual to summon his full power because he dwells in nessus(Basically own layer in hell). And shogun could have been told by astaroth to train Asta by astaroth. Also Asmodeus is known for long saught out plans and using other people to do his bidding for him (Zogratis siblings). Another thing is that anyone who contracts with Asmodeus can have their body if that person doesnt believe in sacrifice being necessary in anyway making sense as to Julius being "dead" while lucius stays. Ive heard some theories that the reason why this arc was so “bs” was because lucius/julius kept reversing the time everytime asta died. Until he beat lucifero. I also believe that when Julius mentions asta dying. I think he maybe referring to himself killing him🤷🏾♂️ idk Also maybe lucius was there in julius body during the elf arc but waited til he sacrificed himself so that he would come back weaker and easier go control. Biggest question is how long ago did Julius and Adramlech speak? Adramlech saying you said it would go this way, infers that Zogratis had a plan or rather, Astaroth had a plan. My gut says that Astaroth (notice how Asta's name is in it) wanted to be the sole ruler of the underworld, so he set a plan in motion to live in the human world and bide his time until he can figure out a way to weaken the other two. With this perfect opportunity, half the heart or power of Lucifero, he can possibly go back to fight and kill him. Keep in mind, SPACE, TIME, GRAVITY. The fabric of the universe according to einstein is space and time, but gravity effects both space and time. This would explain why Lucifero was considered the strongest, and the king of king of devils. I dont know where Beezlebub stands in this power complex after being the possessor of Zenon, but I hope they bring him out too. But yeah again, Adramlech saying this would happen, makes me wonder how far back this plan went.
I’ve been thinking about it, why certain events happened and some wins of this arc felt so smoothly, it’s because time was being altered or reset to get what was considered the perfect ending technically for both sides cause our new main villain probably has not interference now since his siblings are dead and their devils are gone
Biggest plot twist. Manga artist never know how future chapters will turn out. They go chapter by chapters till one connection opens up a possibility HENCE the art known as MANGA. It is a literal opening of choices and since it is fiction, they become MANGA not reality.
So what I think due to time magic being so vastly op is that Lucius reset his personal time to before having and memories of the spade kingdom or his siblings and the devil and allowed the personality to grow without any of those memories but probably put like a time release on his original memories invade he ever needed to bring himself back

I have a feeling that it will play a major role in the story,because The Land of Rising Sun is based on Japan and there's a lot of folklore around demons in Japan. I am thinking Asta will feel sympathy for the lower ranked Demons that's hiding from the humans and he have to find a place for them. Lucius said he had talent at being a devil host. The transformation magic is Lucius and the time magic is Asteroth. So much talent he could stay in the sunken place while Asteroth was thinking he was Julius Novo Chrono. Asteroth hates the devil way in lore. He would Rather live among the humans and is considered a good devil in some cases. Pragmatic but compassionate. Julius wanted to end the oligarchy rule in the clover kingdom. That is similar to Asteroth in lore concerning systems. That being said Asteroth will remember himself in the right moments and stop Lucius from the inside out. Probably freezing himself for a final hit from ASTA.
Maybe the Julius we know is actually Astaroth and one taking over is Lucius? Maybe Astaroth was actually one of the nicer devils like Liebe who wanted out. Then Lucius summoned him in an effort to get his power which succeeded, but Astaroth took over instead in the end with the experience messing his identity. Like a reverse of Liebes original intentions where instead of the devil taking over, the human did.
Alternate dimensional time lines...what ifs, so Julius is living out different time lines n trying to find the best one in which r everyone survives.... He found the best situation in the prediction that he gave the black bulls but as you know nothing is written in stone. That's what I think..lets say he came to this timeline and got noticed by the time devil n the 4th zogratis sibiling so they found a way to transfer their consciousness into Julius and in that transfer, the time devil merged with julius and in which escaped hell because their magic was the same. Idk what do u guys think? Probably even yuno's mother is from the last dimensional time line that Julius went to before he got to this one
Does this twist have any connection to when Julius (before he was the Wizard King) actually met with the young versions of the keys to unlock the underworld (young William and young Yami)?
Well all the Zocratis siblings seem to possess some element of the human state. I imagine there could be some sort of mind/ego/identity/transformation magic at play if we were thinking of anything that could support the aforementioned theories. I suppose the saying "The body is an extension of the mind" could be employed quote literally. I was always wondering how this body magic theme between the siblings would wrap up. Imagine if the final magic is some sort of body theft or parasitic magic to replace/augment the final siblings disabled body.

If you think about it julius, even if he's just possessed, makes a perfect final villian of the series. Hes been there since the begining, and being the wizard king means asta over coming him will prove that he is in fact wizard king level. Perhaps he gave yami a devil heart too.

SO he transfered his own heart to YAMI.....OR AS WE KNOW taht YAMI was meant to be sacrifice for LUCIFERO's RETURN.......SO LUCIFERO's must have done something when ADRAMMELECH refused to help him......(ITS A POSSIBILITY)
@@shadowmonarch8666 but during the fight between asta and lucifero he stats that half of the power still lies in underworld so dont kno if he really meant that or just bluffing the whole time even if he was blufing about half of his power in underworld why didnt he use that against asta why he tried to kill yami if yami was carrying his heart

At this point surely Asta and Yuno are Wizard King level, I'd find it hard to believe that tier is at or above the supreme devils. If this is indeed a Zogratis then their power is really only tied to the devil pact and not really theirs per se meaning the Supreme Devils are still end game? Does bug me that they set up Lucifero as a kind of "end boss" for the series only to turn around and go yeah nah, he's only got half his power now and we killed it off for a new arc. Really feels like the Lucifero fight went from being a finale to someone pushing Tabata to continue the series.
When julius was first introduced as a character he kinda gave off a secret villian vibe but he quickly become the lovable magic otaku that everyone idolizes. When broku speculated that Julius might be a devil possessed i just laughed it off as another random theory, but damn that guy has got to be able to see the future with the amount of things he’s guessed right about black clover! All jokes aside this was one of my favorite manga chapters of all time, I haven’t felt this way about a chapter since madara got reanimated
We’ve been Betrayed, Backstabbed and Definitely Bamboozled. But to be honest, I do feel that Julius gives off a “Main Villain” vibe since the very beginning like when he rescued Asta from the midnight sun and I do still feel that he’s a villain at that time but because of the elf arc, I started to see him as noble role model that Asta and the others can look up to and now they pulled this?!!
Its most likely a situation like in Death note when Light erases his memories and joins the task force to hunt Kira(himself). Lucius probably erased his memories and became Julius whos unaware of Lucius and lived a life as Julius Novachrono then once it was the right time in his plan he recovered his personality as Lucius just like when Light got his death note back and became Kira again.
Julius/Lucius being the final main villian actually makes a lot of sense. Seeing how Asta and Yuno have been fighting and growing stronger for the title of the wizard king. It would make sense that the final hurdle for them to overcome would be to defeat the wizard king himself. OR Julius in his dying moments would have Asta and Yuno fight in friendly match against each other in front of him to see who's worthy of the title.
unfortunately I refuse to give this hack of a writer any credit for it. I refuse to believe he had this planned from the start, that this was the build-up. There has been too much bullshit in previous chapters that looked too much like "oops I kinda wrote myself into a corner better pull something out of my ass to keep things moving."
I'm thinking Lucius has some form of magic that allowed him to possess Julius. Although with the time magic being Astaroth's magic, I wonder what that means for Julius himself. All I know is, Julius does not feel that kind of dread if he want Lucius to win.
@@gatling0389 So if Zenon had Bone Magic, Vanica had Blood Magic, and Dante had Body Magic...Maybe Lucius Brain Magic, or maybe Temporal Magic. Just like the Temporal Lobe of the brain, the one that holds out memories.

Not possessed turns out julius and lucius share a body and lucius erased julius's memories of knowing he existed so he could have julius go to clover and meet yami and William and convince them to join the magic knights due to julius's love of different magic
@@armani3298 turns out that mf has Soul, Body, Blood and Bone magic and with Soul magic he can basically alter any persons soul and bring people back from the dead 💀
True bro i mean, just thinking earlier about what if the 4th brothers magic is not blood, bone or skin control rather than the power to control it all as in possesion magic and he was just waiting for the right time to posses or steal julius body(who is considered the strongest). And as for astaroth maybe he was in on it with lucius and was waiting for the right moment to posses julius so that both there time magics combined into a more powerfull one
Same! I just learned about all that, I'm at episode 124 of the anime and I'm not gonna watch any further until we know what's gonna happen to Julius. He's my favorite character and I don't want to watch the rest of the anime if it's for him to just, be a villain and die again but forever this time... I want a happy (and very much alive) ending for him!
Julius went out of his way, to make the clover kingdom breed "strange unorthodox magic". It's mentioned towards the beginning of this arc by the Heart Queen that because of this, magic that could harm devils appeared in the clover kingdom. Why this might seem strange as in why would he want magic like that coming into place? Simple reason is that he is what allowed both William (world tree magic user) and Yami (dark magic user) to become stronger and reach the "Arcane stage". This was needed as the only way to open the quilopth was for two mages of those types at the arcane stage. To me this indicates that Julius was either faking everything this entire time, or was possibly a made up personality created by Lucius.
