@@Biggssyyy fans love it tho, its not as good as their other songs but still pretty good. Hope they do release this on a B-sides/Rarities album one day.
@@hyf6845 A lot of different shit honestly. Radiohead and Pink Floyd are some of my absolute favorites, just discovered Black Country, New Road recently and they’re up there too. And then there’s stuff like Neutral Milk Hotel, Slint, Arcade Fire, and others. Do you have Spotify?
@@elliotanderson324 i like all of those yeah. don't use spotify, got yt music instead. I'm into all the stuff you mentioned, plus jazz rap and blues rock and prog and some post metal. i can send you my playlist tho. lots of the stuff at the beginning of it are pretty samey but as you scroll down it gets more diverse
I looked outside at the man stood by the door of a black 4x4 His arms were crossed his shadow passed across my porch I said to him “you must be mistaken, this is not my car” And he pulled out a pistol and grabbed me by the arm He leaned in real close and briefly hesitating he said “I’d advise you don’t keep Miss Jenner waiting” He threw me in the car and drove west out into the hillside I pulled hard on the doors but I was already locked inside Kendall Jenner’s waiting Kendall Jenner’s waiting We pulled up to the Four Seasons on Sunset, Beverly Hills, they Dragged me across the white tiles, put me into room 323 I rode 18 floors to the penthouse suite A young blonde girl handed me my room key I went inside Sure enough Kendall Jenner was lying out on the bed In a Four Seasons bath robe with dark circles under her eyes and a Four Seasons hand towel wrapped around her head I shut the door I took a seat next to Kendall, next to the bed, on the floor She slowly uncrossed her legs and lifted up her head Lit a cigarette, looks at me and said “Baby, I’m all strung out on Netflix and 5HTP my whole adolescence had been broadcast on TV I can't feel a thing when anybody touches me And I’m lighter than air When I take off all this jewellery” She got up from the bed Took a seat on the couch Went to the bedside table Pulled out a letter knife I jumped up but she just lifted it up to the sky Stabbed herself in the face Right between the eyes Kendall Jenner is bleeding all over this couch It’s gonna take a lot of bleach To get all these stains out Kendall Jenner is bleeding all over this couch It’s gonna take a lot of bleach To get all these stains out
Aside from them not liking this song by the time they did the album, ftft is sequenced to be the same number of tracks and exact same running time as spiderland, so I imagine they had to be very hardline about what to include and what to leave out
isacc was obviously reading american psycho while writing this, the hyperfixation on brands and clothing before the human, super dry writing and vulgar death are all very much inkeeping with Easton Ellis' writing. With this, and the aforementioned very slint-y instrumental, I think cutting it makes sense, a bit derivative but also really, really great.
I think "obviously" is a bit of an overstatement. Ellis definitely isn't the only one who's ever thought about how alienating it is to be surrounded by materialism, otherwise he probably wouldn't have sold as many books as he did. You make it derivative yourself by only thinking about it within the confines of things that were around before it, and by that logic, everything that has existed ever is derivative, so this is just a total non-point. All you're doing is namedropping while you compliment a song
@@finleymoye1758 name dropping a best selling book and award winning film is hardly a flex on my part, i’m just making a connection that I felt hadn’t been made yet in this comment section. Also I think Isaac would be the first to tell you this song is all very derivative. There’s a reason it’s not on FTFT
@@sciencecharity Isaac isn't going to be the first to tell me anything because I don't know him, I also never said it's a flex I just said that it's what you're doing. It's not even nearly a flex, that's why it was irritating that you phrased it as if it was. I was just saying a thing doesn't become derivative just because it reminds you of something, it becomes derivative when inspired by something else to the point that it nearly feels like plagiarism. I just don't think you should shit on the things you admit that you enjoy
I like it a lot but I can see why they left it out of For The First Time, like structurally it feels similar and would serve a similar purpose in the tracklist as Science Fair . I think they probably decided they didn’t want to repeat that sound twice in the record and chose between the 2 songs
