Another feature I would like to see would be an extension of the wood catcher so it protects the engine from wood falling onto it. Some hard wood is explosif when it splits causing the wood to fly of the splitter. I would purchase this if it was available.
I just purchased this model and I had a problem that the dealer installed the hydraulic lines improperly. When in the vertical position the high pressure hoses had a loop the same as in this video and noticed that it puts a lot of strain an kinks the high pressure lines. I adjusted this and all is working properly now.
Nice to see you can pick up the tongue without breaking your back. Really tough to do on the Yardmax. The 9" wedge is great, but according to the Black Diamond owners manual, the 25 ton has 8", 30 ton has 8.5" and the 35 ton has a 9". What are the key differences between your Black Diamond, Performance Built and County Line log splitters?
County Line makes a drop on fourway that will fit. Just bought one today. I have a performance built 27 ton. I don't understand why they don't Market this accessory for all of the machines that are basically identical aside from a couple of components. Arboractive has a video on this.
I bought one of these and I bought an extra log catcher but there’s only two holes do you need longer bolts when you attach to log catchers or the bolts that come with it will work because it has to go through two of them now?
I'm a little confused about your comments of going through two of them. Are you putting a log catcher on both sides of the beam? The standard log catcher goes on the side opposite to the user, the bolt would go through the log catcher and web of the beam. The length should be correct if using it properly.
@@gabrielchiodo7454 na, then you have to lean over the catcher on the side you are on. Will hurt your back over time loading logs. It's nice to stay close to beam. Roll one half to the catcher and split the half on your side again and then split the catcher side log again. Now you have 4 pieces. Easy with one catcher. 2 will just make things awkward, for me anyways. Do what you feel is most comfortable, just stay safe.
