Hope you guys get some commission for this video. I bought myself a pair of these after watching this video 2 years ago and fell instantly in love. I recommended them to my brother who is doing the AT this year. Thanks for the extra content!

I used this video to explain the art of dead pan comedy to my son. Your delivery is exquisite!

It kills me every time you mention old F*@#s and their broad rimmed hats and trekking poles! And now you have added the vented shirt! All three are recent additions or substitutions to my backpacking gear. (heavy sign) I could deal with the ribbing much better if I hadn’t just turned 64! The Beatles song haunts me. What the hell happened, Danny? I was your age a few minutes ago and only slightly less snarky. Now the PCT appeals to me more than peak bagging, and I get my thrills vicious through you. Oh and that helicopter is sick! Anyway, please don’t stop putting a smile on this old face. Awesome vids.

Already had the sun hat & the vented shirt, but now have the complete ensemble. Just wish I was middle aged again. Great poles, great tip, thanks.

Black Diamond z-poles are great, but once I tried Leki there was no contest whatsoever. Game changer if you have good rhythm

Nice review. Had basic aluminum 19oz poles. Love using them but they're tanks. Got 11oz Dynafit Vertical Pro Pole (like BD Z). Weight difference is shocking and feels like nothing in hand. If 2200 steps/mile and move pole then 2200 * 4oz * 10 miles = 5500 pounds less lifting on 10 mile hike!

Their latest versions suck a big one. They literally fell apart 2 months in after 5 hikes. My old CZ poles lasted 2 years through harsh abuse and thousands of kilometers.

Yes I love my BD Z poles! I got the aluminum for an extra 2 ounces but still worth it

Even though I do love my BD Carbon Distance Z Poles as well, the reason they covered you breaking the pole no question asked is there is a flaw in the design where they are SUPER prone to cracking at that collapsing button. I had the same thing happen to my first set under 25 miles. So if you're ok being down a pole for a few days the first time it cracks, they are great! I'm looking forward to BD fixing this problem since other than that they are great!

Great poles - one problem: the push buttons get worn and can be very difficult to push in and collapse particularly in cold weather.

I’m torn between these poles and poles where you can adjust the length. I’m a backpacker and fly a lot to destinations. These seem to be the perfect portability side, but do you think they would do well in a heavy pack setting as opposed to a trail runner?

people who insult trekking poles are so foolish, why would you not want your upper body helping with climbing and descending?
