When I was a little girl... Oxtails were cheap to purchase. You would get a bag taller than me for $5 that fed 5 people for 2 days. Always cook slow Oxtails and rice with gravy. A delicacy today...WOW!!! Grandparents kept all the meat in smokehouse beyond the huge garden. The Depression went by and they never knew America had one. Thank you Guys💙💙🙏 How they owned 27 acres of land with no Mortgage baffles me today.🌻
one of my old neighbors made me some oxtails, they were so damn good, very similar to what he has, I tried making some, didn't even come close to what the old lady cooked, i miss her, nice to sit and chat with, but her cooking was a bonus

You're missing out... Ox tail is amazing flavor, absolutely amazing... I get it every summer for the 4th, smoke it, and it's gone before the brisket every single time.
They might know about cooking, but they probably dont know jack shit about smoking meat. The pink color is normal, its would look different if you just straight grilled it.
Yes, yes, it is... from Brine time, proper season, proper height in the smoker, exact time in the smoker, the right amount of smoke, proper temp at all times, proper rest times, and time to slice, it's not easy spending 8-12 hours in a smoke house... it's never cold and always very hot. And you're in there for hours and hours on end. Mine is 9x10. It's always around 120 degrees, even with all the fans on. And that's not even inside the 225-degree smokers. Let alone my grills, open flame... 5 days a week, drink more water than a camel, I swear... I'm up before most people even think of crawling out of bed. Smoking foods for some time, 3 hours, sometimes 12-16... I cold smoke cheese and fruits. It's definitely an art. It isn't just, set it and forget it. That's home smoking, part time, kid stuff. Most of you can't get an inch thick ring on a bricket.

Used to watch my granny cook oxtail slowly & I couldnt wait on it to be done. Nobody else would be around during those times & we would ENJOY it sooo much... Ooh how I miss our times 2gether!!!

That's true .. the way it falls in off the bone... I tried it with my ox tails/ cow tails I have NEVER SEEN where oxen come from I looked at how tight the meat was to bone before and how easy it fell off when it was cooked in the crockpot low and slow ❤❤❤
Oxtail was practically throw away food when I was back in New York as a kid. My grandparents used to make oxtail soup it was so damn good you couldn't believe it. Now they charge an arm and a leg for it !! You know what else is good but I shouldn't mention it here before everybody else makes the price go up... Pork neck bones cooked with sauerkraut and potatoes. One of the best damn meals I've ever had in my whole life.

I had my first ox tail a year ago from a Jamaican coworker. So good, even my Dominican friend made for me with rice and beans. This looks good, I might have to challenge them, the white boy has a Traeger here 😅. Good video!!
Whoever thinks these are not fully cooked y’all need to hit the kitchen or backyard. Then practice cooking every method until you realize this is how beef and pork look depending on the cooking method or cut of meat. ❤
Uhm or if its smoked thats the only way it looks like that. Anything else your thinking of is meat temp examples rare, medium, medium rare so on. Seems like u might wanna go get in a back yardd by a smoker.
When meat falls off the bone that means it’s over cooked. So don’t worry about it being raw because that’s nonexistent at this stage. Ain’t no going back to raw or under cooked. Gotta love bbq 🤤🤤
