Beyond that, I love the symbolism of her getting in his truck at the end, to say that no matter how long it takes she’s gonna continue to “Wait In The Truck”

The part that gets me every time is "I just threw it in drive, looked in those eyes, and asked her where he was." To decide in a second that you're going to step up and help a stranger to that degree, essentially sacrificing your life. Powerful stuff.

He didn't ask for mercy from the court, he asked God to have mercy on him. That really struck me. I've said before I don't think a man would do that unless they saw their Mom or sister etc get treated like that. I could be wrong, that felt like revenge for someone else.

I love this song and video. I said before it's a throwback to when CMT and MTV played videos that were like mini-movies that went along with the song. Those are rare these days, it seems. But this was a freaking masterpiece. "I never thought my day of justice would come from a Judge under the seat" is such a kickass line. And just sitting there, smoking one of his cigarettes, waiting for the police to come. Hardy and Lanie made magic here. This is storytelling at its finest.

Oddly enough despite being the model mentioned a "Judge" wasn't the gun used in the video the cylinder of the Judge swings the opposite way. That was likely a S&W Governor.

New Subscriber! Happy to have been introduced via the algorthem. The is such a great song. It reminds me of the old Western movies. Hardy's voice can be so smooth, manly and warm but the lyrics and the story are cold. Love the contrast. I knew the story was going somewhere when he asks " Where's he at?". Not "You wanna go to the hospital ?". "Judge under the seat" is a great line. And, I love him smoking the guys cigarette.
