The operation begins, and Delta Force operators capture Aidid's advisers inside the target building, while the Rangers and helicopters escorting the ground-extraction convoy take heavy fire. What’s the Black Hawk Down movie about?
The head of an army of Somalis proclaimed himself the leader of Somalia in 1992 and brought terror to the country. George H. W. Bush set up a humanitarian mission to bring food to those in need. In 1993, the situation quickly escalated: 24 peacekeepers on duty were murdered for no reason on the orders of Mohamed. Mohamed was declared a war criminal and a ransom was placed on his head. The peaceful humanitarian mission led until then by the Americans has now become military. Mogadishu, October 3, 1993. The Rangers, transported by Black Hawk helicopters, were about to surround a hotel in the lower town. The Delta will assault and arrest two of Mohamed's subordinates. Called Irene, the mission lasted an hour at most. But the armed forces had underestimated the impact of their presence on the population. For many Somalis do not appreciate anyone interfering in their problems. So they took up arms and opened fire. Surprised by this fierce and numerous opposition, the soldiers found themselves greatly outnumbered and surrounded and a Black Hawk helicopter was shot down. The American superiority is in fire and ashes and the soldiers are caught in the enemy's fire.

I’m planning to go in the Military and I wanna do Spec Ops and that’s to be a Navy SEAL but as a Navy Seal I would work with every Special Forces C Squadron, 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment-Delta (1st SFOD-D) (Delta Force) and the 3rd Ranger Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment. 1st Battalion, 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment

If he didn’t fall off the chopper, they probably sent out the humvee to picked up the first downed Blackhawk. It would still be a s show, but we might get most people back

Is this Chicago, LA, Houston or Baltimore?

Being an Aussie, who's never been to the US..my money is on Chicago. Clearly this was a movie about the US military going in to clear out all the gang violence in Chicago..and disarm all the felons of their guns. I had expected to see far more pimped out rides being used as technicals, and as many Mac 10's as AK's.. But, (sigh!) when has Hollywood ever gotten anything THAT realistic.. And this whole movie, (while I'm sure they tried to make it look as much like Chicago, or any other Democrat controlled state in the US as possible) looks like it could've been all filmed in the back alleys of Morocco! Now that Biden/Obama have left the Taliban all of this stuff in Afghanistan, this could soon be happening again, but backwards, in a 'theatre' near you! Don't ever take criticism on owning your guns, from an administration that left a massive stockpile of modern US weapons & war fighting material of this sort, to international terrorists. Destroying every single ounce of good ITAR ever achieved, just for starters..worldwide. Haven't seen the new flick yet..'Civil War'..but I'll get there eventually..the reviews aren't exactly inspiring, and apparently neither is the plot or the experience. Sigh. "Once more..into the breech.."

The movie suggest that the reason Blackburn fell was because of maneuvers by the helicopter to evade an incoming RPG. In reality, it isn't clear why he fell.

@00andrescab00
@00andrescab00 3 года назад
Pretty much means the choppers go to their designated fly over areas waiting to either provide covering fire, extraction, or medical evacuation while not staying in one spot so they don’t get shot down. With all the wind and dust they pick up they can also provide some form of psychological advantage over the enemy.

A great movie which shows American military doing everything wrong. In particular the military operation should've happened at night, not in daylight. The Somalia were waiting for Americans and there was no back up plan/escape plan/plan B, should things go wrong...... Which they did......

@@headeyes3622 They didn't, not entirely, anyway. And if Garrison had gotten the AC-130s he wanted to provide cover, they wouldn't have had to rely so extensively on the UH-60s to provide that cover instead. Blackburn probably still would've fallen but at least Super 6-1 and Super 6-4 most likely wouldn't have gotten shot down, which would've made extracting from the city a lot easier. There'd still be casualties but it'd be a small handful of injuries and a fatality or two, not well over a dozen men killed and the better part of a hundred wounded while Task Force Ranger got ground into hamburger trying to defend downed choppers with casualties they couldn't move on their own.

How was the Intel shit? They accomplished there objective and captured who they wanted. Pretty sure the guns and body armor are because they expect repercussions they just didn’t think every other Somalian would become militia 😅 like what more did you want from there engagement rules? Fire on every women and male kid from 11 - 50 who held a weapon? Maybe you should join the other side if that’s what you wanted.
