As an Indians fan , Albert was a force of nature ready to erupt every night . People pissed him off and he took it out on pitchers . Only guy to have 50 hrs and 50 doubles also in a strike shortened season . Lost the MVP that year because the media did not like him . And I am still mad !!!!
I'm mad that he was ON DECK when the Tribe got eliminated by Atlanta. Lofton led off the inning by fouling out, due to the ridiculously large foul ground of Atlanta's old terrible stadium. In my alternate reality, Lofton gets on base, Belle hits a 2 out, 2 run HR to take the lead, Tribe wins Game 6 and 7 ......... but whatever, 2016 Cavs made all of that moot.
One of the best sluggers ever and yet they won't put him in the HOF because of his additude. If that's the case, half of the guys wouldn't be in the HOF. Put him in where he belongs.
I'm pretty sure getting a bat confiscated on suspicion of being corked and the lengths his team went to cover it up was a major factor. Selig even got the FBI involved (and spoiler alert; the bat was corked).
It don't matter. He's in my Personal Hall of Awesome. That's all I care about. I'm never going to visit Cooperstown, but I will occasionally type his name into RU-vid and relive how awesome he was.
i don't care what the media say about him, he:s top 5 offensive player in history and was intense, fun to watch . Fans pay for that and not hear boring stuff on interviews by annoying leachers . A player can smile and look cool, now that is boring lol
Not the kind of person you'd think to be deserving of celebration for Black History Month. Read his wikipedia page and see the sadness that is Albert Belle. I wonder if something's wrong with him; I feel bad.
why not celebrate griffey instead? the media also glorifies george floyd, a drug addict criminal who assaulted women. there are literal religious murals of him now
Can't we get over the race thingy?? Keep drawing distinctions only adds to the problems and most people today are mixes anyhow, we can't keep segregating people by giving racist observances like black or Latino month, it's ridiculous

What they did was worse then corking a bat. Belle had a great eye and could kill the ball. Takes talent to even hit a ball. He took advantage of every mistake a pitcher made. He even made pitchers throw things he knew was coming and didn't miss it. Just look at his playoff games.
