As a Yankee fan, it was dread to watch him come to the plate. As a baseball fan, it was amazing and exciting for him to come to the plate. He had Bondsesque electricity. Made you wonder if the next pitch was headed out of the stadium.
Albert Bell was that dude. I got to meet him one time in Sarasota during spring training he came to my moms house and helped bring a couch in lol. He had a lady friend that was good friends with my mom at the time
No Disrespect, But the joke is needed, I seriously doubt that the couch he brought in was not the only thing he brought in your house for your mom to sit on. Sorry in advance but you typed/walked into that one.😢😂
I was a fan from this man , I fought with a friend in my hood arguing for Albert 😂😂😂😂 he could hit that ball hard like a mtfk. Saludos to Belle from Loiza Puerto Rico ✌🏾
If he played 5 more years he probably would be. He retired at 33. Still impressive what he accomplished in 10ish years. Kind of like buster posey. Completely different player but retired too early. Pulled a barry sanders, although you don't need to play as long in football.😂
One of the best sport video clips of all time is Albert yelling from his dugout to the other dugout and flexing his bicep pointing at his muscle saying come get some of this
This man was a one man wrecking crew himself! Was so fun to grow up going to Indians games in the late 90’s. Season tickets at the Jake was my dad’s best decision. The back to back jacks were always possible and when “Hells Belles” came on the speaker that place went fuckin nuts! The gong was always a get up cause you’re about to see something! Awesome! Love Albert Belle!
i seen this man hit a hr out of Fenway park!!!! im telling you i seen lots of baseball in my life…that was the hardest hit ball i ever seen to this day!!!!!
Joey belle and his prime were ridiculous. Dude put 50/50 hr and doubles in one season. He is in the line of Jeff Kent where the media hated him so no hof votes. From 91-00 he was a hof er. Over 1000 ops 4 years nowadays thats mvps
It certainly is....u stop Vina from throwing to 1st and getting the double play, we were all taught that growing up ....infielders don't get in the baseline.....Your stupid!
I remember watching that game and watching that play as it happened. The thing that nobody seems to remember about that play is that there was nothing called by the umpiring crew on the field at the time! Vina was clearly in the baseline and Albert’s arms were up as much in a defensive posture as they were in an offensive posture since he was running the bases at the time. There’s no shortage of things that you could cite the guy for throughout his playing days but this was an incident that was made into something much more after the fact and after the game than it was in the game at the time.
I use to love watching belle play. Ill never forget him hitting a home run and went in the dugout and then stepped back out, talked trash to someone on the field while flexing his bicep😂
Can you imagine if Albert re uped for 3 more years when Man Ram was rounding into the machine slinging doubles every at bat. Those 2. Both Alamars. Gold glove Matt what's his nuts at 3rd. Bartolo before he was bartolO The drum. Was born from those teams. To bad the team won't keep it around even after what's his name's passing. It really set the mood tone atmosphere when the screws were the tightest. Now it's ................ We've got like 23 top of the rotation starters prospects. So many were trioing over starting pitchers... Middle relief... Anyone... Anybody... And with all the Cy Young, that we’ve grown out of our farm system, you think we could just accidentally find a hitter I hope management knows. We've all lived thru the many acts and Eric wedge years.... Y'all ain't fooling anyone. A team this rich in young dominant talent on the pitching side of the game. Shouldn't need more than 2 weeks to a manager. We’re in the central division you only need 90 wins and then you’re in the big dance. how is management making this hard decision for anybody to come here? Literally the bar is set so low to make the playoffs if you played on the Angels in the last 8 years, you’ve played with some of the best talent that free agency could buy and Mike Trout. by the end of July your season was over. I swear to Christ... Our management is jamming a stick into the spokes of the bike were all on.
This single play is the reason 8 year old me washed both my aunts cars to finally get my first fitted hat..old school Indian head Cleveland hat. Loved that hat
Not sure what year it was but it was early to mid 90's when this man hit at least 50 homeruns and 50 doubles in one regular season. I can't think of another player accomplishing this feat in my time, I'm 43
I never heard Albert Belle speak until now. He’s a nice guy after all. Just tough on his opponents. That Indians team was loaded during his time. They should have won a championship
@@NR87813I did pranks and crazy shit on Halloween as a teenager. I never had any one try to run me down with their car. I had cops stop us because we were doing stupid shit but never an adult try to kill me for a Halloween prank. Albert Belle is crazy but adults should know better.
My brother played against the belle brothers,Me and Alan played for Captain Shreve and they played for Airline. I don't remember which one was pitching I think it was Albert and my brother hit a home run on him and I struck out. Albert or maybe it was his brother was clocked at 96mph when my brother hit the homer against him. Before you say anything his brother the other Belle was just as good as Albert, ask him.
