A true urban poet. He just personifies and relays the roughness of the street, his community without making sappy or trying to pain his listener. An artist!
"When you look at my brothers what's your first impression, does the sight of us leave you guessing or do you understand the stressing, the aggression, the look of no hope on my niggas faces, like the Lord overlooked us when he handed down His graces"
I feel what you're saying. Just like BlackIce said: "When you're negative you're positive, but when you're positive you're called a hater." He couldn't be any more right. But what's even more sad is that people ain't gon listen to him cuz he speaking the honest truth! Man this world is f**ked up :(
OMG He speaks what I feel in my heart! And I know i'm only 20...so sadly, hardly anybody my age or younger gon listen to stuff like this. This s**t is the TRUTH! Oh how I wish he could speak in my community! Or nationwide!
Like the man said God gives us what we all got. Who signs all the negative rappers, and did they even start negative. 'Rise up' is not commercially viable to those few who think they hold the reins. Correct the self and the rest will follow!
@aodkills the song's called "live again" by Schoolboy Q ft. Kendrick Lamar. It's most definitely a dope song, and the Black ice part at the end is perfect. its off Schoolboy Q's Setbacks mixtape
"If you're negative, you're positive. And if you're positive, you're called a hater. But I maintain control of my soul cuz' I know it gets greater later....." Damn....that shit was ill. Beautifully written...beautifully written. `*Tisha-Marie*`
In 2020 i wonder do we realize hes still speaking and im still listening right now. i always wonder why they took this show off the air? i believe our youth need to hear this
Probably not a good idea to use the word "like" when giving statistics Ryan Ferretti. Is it 90% or not? It doesn't matter. You're lost. Your choice to go the route of the demorcrat/republican deal you've purchased with your life is sad. It's much more deeper that that. It's unfortunate that you have infantile education, because you'd realize they play on the same team. Too bad that you are on that team. Think about it.
Hip-Hop doesn't exist anymore among the masses because...."If you're negative, you're positive and if you're positive you're called a hater, but I maintain control of my soul 'cause I know it gets greater later and I told ya'll the last show, I'm no hater, I just know what the truth is." I hate being called a hater because I tell my people Lil Wayne, Soulja Boy, Drake and Wiz are garbage. Black Ice was spot on.
Watching this now, I'm wondering how I came so far! I was woke before woke was woke and now I'm tryna be woke again.. anyway poetry Jam was before it's time.. forever relevant!
This shit is the best open here big up to all my real niggaz who keep it 24/7 we won't change until the world change and I don't see no change in this world if we want a change black people we have to do it by us.
This brother swims in deep waters,( I Love this) what a positive person. What beautiful message, you could see the positive rays floating up from his body.
I watched this a loooong time ago and glad to find it’s still on RU-vid. I see lots of reaction videos, reacting to music videos they should react to poetry videos like this.
So Don't try to talk about ME, when I know whassup. See, I don't judge people on their skin color, I judge them for their actions and the content of their character. What Black Ice was talkin about is the exact kinda shit Russell and Diddy and Jay-z and Eminem have ALL been guilty of. They're ALL sellouts of a culture they never had the right to sell
1. homeboy, learn how to type before you try to correct somebody. 2. If you really think Russell, or any of these label heads, isn't out for the betterment of ANYONE other than themselves, and the corporations they work for, then take a listen to major radio rap stations sometime. You'll hear the exact shit Black Ice is talkin about...
"External Blingers" is all we can be...cuz on the inside we've been given nothing 2 shine on....Dam!!! Serious, Serious, Serious! Ice iz da Truth!!! If you're negative, you're positive. And if you're positive, you're called a hater..."Whoa, 2 da generation where good is bad and bad is good...My return is soon"
at one point in time the "real hiphop" was just called backpack rap . just for example the majority of people would either say biggie or tupac are the best rappers ever , with a huge following of jay-z , now all three are versatile and have all kinds of songs , is it a bad thing to have gangsta rap?
P.S. The niggas who came up with throwin up "305" and "Made In Dade" was a group that consisted of both Black people AND hispanic people, So if you don't know about SLP and J-pure, then you str8 up talkin out ya ass about what YOU DON'T understand.
And the end result of that is people like Black Ice courageously speakin the truth, but is unfortunately limited to speakin the truth on a show owned by one of the many very people responsible for what he's speakin about.
So many rappers could learn a lot from him this is a work of art moving and uplifting unlike so much shit shallow message less raps from the likes of Jay Z Diddy Kanye and the rest of them fools who've sold their very soul.
CNN 22 OCT 2010 reported that..Police who arrested Kamari Charlton on September 1 at the Changi Airport were acting on an Interpol alert that he was wanted on allegations of money laundering and running a phone-scam operation in Australia. .The U.S. Embassy in Singapore Ehrendreich said.
