@@ninamiller2225 I bought them a few years back. I liked them a lot! They take about an extra month to start laying but they are nice birds and lay a bit bigger eggs.
Hey! Thank you for the video! I am having a very calm Jersey Giant rooster (he’s around 6 months old) but I find him quite light to be honest. Do you/someone else know what is the supposed weight at this age ? Also; I know that average and small size roosters are able to reproduce at already 6/7 months; but I doubt it in the case of Jersey Giant. Any ideas on that ? (Ps. I’d like to breed my JG rooster with my Australoorp, Faverolle and Orpington hens… hopefully that will give some heavy birds)
The Giants tend to be a bit slower to develop than some other breeds. They'll get pretty big if you've got quality birds. By 6-7 months they'll certainly be able to reproduce.
I have two and they grew way slower than the rest of them. Now they dwarf the others at 7 months old and their eggs barely fit in the carton. Also they dont stop maturing till ten months so I expect by then they will be huge! 😁
