Hullo Emma, I really enjoy watching you create these wonderful pastel paintings! I did not even try pastels until very late, I was 58 when I started to look into this new to me medium. I have become fascinated by your techniques and truly amazed at your skill with them! I thought that pastels were used by impressionists because you could not get an actual representational image with them. I was so WRONG! You create your paintings in a wide spectrum of reality. I had no idea they were so versatile. This is just one of the amazing portraits I have seen you create, Thank You for opening my eyes to the JOY of pastels. You go from pets to wild animals to scenic wonders of nature. Your art knows no bounds, Thank You.

Emma you make me want to paint. You always bring fresh inspiration to your easel. This tutorial highlights the joys of pastels working light over dark in the background as the garden miraculously appears. But I don't know how you got so much detail on that scale. Your details are impecable as always. Wow I would love to be able to create such lovely backgrounds- you subjects always sit so naturally in their setting. Your work is amazing.
