American hunter 255 - how does that make me an islamaphobe? I don’t disagree with your statement about the Catholic Church. Are you suggesting Islam is immune to corruption?
Depends what you consider a standard education. If you consider teaching 25 genders, infanticide, and Critical Race Theory a good education, then we will simply disagree.
@@stephenstaedtler6902 I went to a state school and nothing that you mentioned was part of the curriculum. I would actively not hire someone with Liberty on their CV.

Religious institutions should never be so politically involved nor have such influence in a democratic government. If they are, then their tax-exempt status should be revoked.
You KNEW what school you were going to. These students seem incredibly sensitive and melodramatic over a tweet that’s pointing out the DEMOCRAT governor’s picture in blackface. What did Falwell say that was racist though? He was completely right to point that out. Why aren’t they directing this at the governor?
Seriously... When I saw the title of the video I thought Falwell must have said something incredibly offensive. But a joke referencing the fact that the governor of Virginia wore blackface? I just don't get it, how is that racist? As a broadly liberal Christian who thinks Falwell is a charlatan and a heretic, I never thought I would defend him... but this is such a nothingburger it's almost funny
Why even say an irresponsible comment and be considered a moral educational leader? Take responsibility. The comment was reckless. Use your brain and not the meth.
@@MobTownHooligan thats hilarious considering conservatism has basically been about deflection and projection this whole time. Kind of like the fragile "alphas" that stormed the capitol all because their whiny diaper boy didnt win a fair election.

Religion has always been about power and control. Evangelicals are a concentrated example of that. To them the teachings of Jesus Christ is full of moral ambiguity seeing as the ends justify the means.
Liberty University is a reputable school with good students and outstanding Instructors. Jerry Jr. Is on his own. His personal behavior has nothing to do with the make up of the school.
America group does not have only 1 minority group are you serious only focusing your black students but what about other minority people are they not there???
I was going to explain the nuance of how Falwell’s tweet is still racist even though it‘s referencing Northam, but then I realized this is the RU-vid comment’s section.
@@anthonybrowne3942 evangelicals, of course they try to distance from him now but before he resigned they were defending him with their standard lines about how the Bible says not to judge then in the same breath they go on to judge everyone else. Evangelicals have lost all credibility and they have no one to blame but themselves. That's what happens when you go around thinking you're outsmarted everyone but aren't actually fooling anyone but yourself.

Liberty University tried to recruit me for a master’s program and when I researched who they were, I told them to lose my number. I feel bad for the students who went and didn’t know what they were getting into.
@@itsspiritual8645 -- What makes him so uniquely anointed that he can't find God calling him elsewhere, or that God might never have another vessel of different Gifts capable of Ministering in Falwell's Legacy ? Somehow this does seem like an issue of personal ego.
@@itsspiritual8645 -- I would ask "according to whom," and would have left the apostrophe out of ties (not to mention hyphenating an adjective string), but needless to say I lack the high level of education provided by Liberty University. As high as you build Falwell up, the higher the standards invited. Arguing Jesus recruited from the lower classes is interesting for two reasons. First, the self employed (fishers, carpenters) and professionals (physicians, tax collectors), and anyone whose family could afford to lose strong healthy sons in their prime to the leisure of education and travel are exactly the suit-and-tie crowd of their day (unless Jesus picked a slave). Second, even if Jesus has no dress code, Jesus might appreciate a servant leader zipping up his pants when drinking on a yacht with his adulterous hooker.

@@ren17x50 Black people that are religious are not cognizant of that fact. Evangelical Christianity is exactly what it sounds like. The churches don't practice racism in the Black community. It's hard to see that from afar.
My mom went there and I never understood why because Sr didn’t allow interracial relationships and was against it. There are tons of schools to choose from that are much better
As a current student who disagrees with Liberty’s stand points and as a minority myself, the students still work hard for their degrees and some professors are great. There is corruption in the higher levels absolutely, but just remember some students were lead to believe a lie are the victims here.
Whoa....This is all new to me. I don't even know why I'm shocked. A few years ago, I enrolled in one of LU's Master's Programs and silly of me, thinking since this is a Christian university that it was inclusive and welcoming to all. I'm glad I left LU.
Liberty University isn't the problem. It's the faculty. I had a problem with the lack of diversity, watching speeches on youtube at that school. I just saw a lot of white faces and that troubled me. When I walk into a public school and see a lot of white faces, I think there is something wrong with the administration and that perhaps some people are not made to feel welcome. I live in Oregon where Portland and Grants Pass are probably the whites cities here. There wasn't slavery here, but Oregon did not allow blacks and did not ratify the 15th amendment until 1959. There are a lot of Oregonians that don't know this, and truly do not discriminate against people of different races. I think the point I am trying to make is the mind set has to change and it has to happen within the student body and hierarchy.
When you thought you have heard it all, another one comes up. Jerry Falwell is a close friend of president Trump, as Falwell, like Epstein, are exactly the type of men president Trump surrounds himself with.
I'll say that many Black students, myself included, have felt the same at PWIs (primarily white institutions). During the same period in 1990s, I was the only Black student in many of my classes at Wisconsin. We had very few Black teachers come through the program at that time. I guess the difference is that my experience was known and recognized. While it was difficult to adjust to being an ultra-minority, I never felt shunned by my classmates. The experience for Black students on campus in other PWIs is similar. If you are of the majority in your community, you can work to end the shunning of the minority.
msjamie hollbrook Right? Sounds like he’s on several substances at once! And how creepy for the president of a high profile “Christian” “university” to say he has promised his kids he’s going to be a “good boy”🤮
I think Falwell may have been reading Genesis wrong... “And God saw that man was lonely so he created woman to be his helper... Then God saw woman was lonely, so he created Pool-Boy, to help her too.”
Hello I’m Jerry jr, my wife’s doing the pool boy and I get to watch, I’m also a 🥴😲🎃🎃😻😻😹😹. But liberty university has ruined my reputation so I’m gonna sue them with that 10 million they paid me to get out of town. You couldn’t write fiction that is better than this!!!!
Problem I have every time I saw a picture of Jesus, as a kid,he always look like an Anglo European, but geographical location, impossible that's the biggest lie right there.christians that throw bricks
Outrage mob at it again. Learn to understand the context of things. He was pointing out the racism of someone else, but all you choose to hear is “black face”. Grow up.
Ben Ghazi - I don’t think you’re necessarily wrong, but I just know enough about him beyond this news segment. Never even heard of him until today. What I’m saying is that this specific instance isn’t racist, as his message was pointing out someone else’s racism. If he used an image of Epstein and Bill Clinton together on his mask would you accuse him of being a sexual predator? What are the other examples of his racism?
Ben Ghazi - but you’re making the assumption that he is a predator in that scenario. He has no sexual misconduct allegations against him, so moving forward with the assumption that he isn’t a predator, would using an Epstein image on a mask mean that he is a predator himself? There is no evidence beyond a few mild missteps in speeches that would imply that he has racist tendencies that would merit ending his career. Absent of any evidence of sever racist tendencies, the tweet about the mask can only be assumed to be a political jab about somebody else’s racist tendencies. The two scenarios conceptually identical.
Ben Ghazi - what evidence? Vice manipulated the info to support their narrative. For example, they said black enrollment was 5% in 2017, but didn’t report current enrollment, which is 15% black and 25% minority total. That is the definition of misdirection
Ben Ghazi - all I’m saying is that they haven’t given any evidence to show that he is a racist. The evidence they attempted to use was manipulative. If he was really a racist, then wouldn’t there be enough pure evidence that you wouldn’t need to manipulate your viewers.
@@effscottfitz-gee2024 You do realize Trump is also a friend of Epstein? His lawyer for his impeachment trial has been accused of sexual assault because he too was Epstein's attorney.
Ok, listen. Not far away are numerous HBCUs which are cheaper and have a higher grad and success rate. You don't have to demean yourself for the sake of education.
The racism stuff is just flat out false. As for LGBT, Liberty is not going to support homosexuality, whether you or others like it or not. Neither will BYU.

Why arent people calling for the subject of the tweet, Gov Northam, to resign? Hes the one that wore blackface alongside a person dressed as a KKK member......
People have, some people still are. The difference, to some people (but certainly not all), is that Northam seems to look back on this as a shameful act that shows lack of judgement as a younger person. Jerry Falwell Jr. is a 58 year old man who currently acts in racist ways. Some people believe that it's possible to grow and mature as a person, and that that may even be one of the points of college. Jerry Falwell isn't going to grow or change as a person. He's lived a life and ideology that's taught him he's perfect and that his failings can be blamed on others. Unfortunately, some people on the left want to punish people for any truly poor decisions they've made in their lives regardless of whether that person has learned from them, or still holds those beliefs. Unfortunately, many people on the right will excuse decisions that indicate racism or sexism because they're fine with it, too, or because they're unwilling to hold their own responsible until each and every person on the left is a paragon of virtue. This would suggest a conditional morality where if you're only willing to be as good as your worst enemy, maybe the right doesn't care about morals and values anymore, and any time the right complains about a democrat or someone else on the left having a moral lapse, they can be safely ignored as deliberately arguing in bad faith. Too bad Jeremy Corbyn didn't figure that out, huh? When a bunch of anti semites started clutching their pearls about the supposed anti semitism of a party well-known for embracing people regardless of faith. "You're arguing in bad faith, go clean your own house, eff yourself" would have been the better response. That would be my response to most Republicans "concerned" about Governor Northam at this point.
It's clear that this tweet was just a tipping point. When your president(s) are constantly pushing drama idk anybody is surprised when sleeping dogs won't lie. I would be surprised if Liberty University had radical anything.
It’s kind a hard to imagine these people didn’t know what they were getting into whether or not what you thought he said was racist it wasn’t weird you don’t like with the schools overall messages is one thing but these people they interviewed spent the majority of this video just kind of pissing on the school that they’re no longer affiliated with kind of like petty little assholes
@@solomonbaslal8483 I noticed how the morehouse video was a positive spin on black racists. Especially the professor denying that black people can be racist because racism has to do with policies and legislation, not the actual definition of believing one race is superior to another.

it baffles me why any african american person would become an evangelical christian. it is a white religion. its the religion of white supremesist , the kkk and the republican party. they have always put down non white people and catholics.
Any real Christian can just look at this man and tell something isn’t right about him. The Bible says you tell who a man is by his fruits. His spirit is real bad.
