Whether you realize it or not your thoughts, feelings, and inner dialogue is shaping and molding your life all the time. If you are struggling and unhappy about anything in your life look in the mirror there's the cause. If you are thriving and you are happy with everything in your life look in the mirror there's the cause. Life works from the inside out! The solutions are within! Take charge of your mind and think for yourself. It is your responsibility to build yourself up. It is your responsibility to compliment and encourage yourself. It is your responsibility to give yourself confidence. Stop operating like a victim. Stop whining and complaining about your life, other people, and the world. Stop being petty and weak. Claim your divinity and be self responsible. All you need is within you now! God is within...not in the sky. If you want your life to change, you must change first.
Amen that was the most honest thing I heard on this talk. After watching crazy Snappped and Fatal Attraction stories and being in some bad situations, I can attest that what Eddie said rings true.
Taj is so regal and beautiful and I have admired Eddie since his TN Titan (I’m a TN girl) days but to hear them together share their journey and love takes it to a whole other level of respect for them! Kudos
I think it's super problematic to encourage black women to wait for black men when black men are increasingly dating and marrying out. For context, I'm married to a black man. However, I have family members and friends that are single, attractive, and have they're lives together but black men aren't seriously checking for them. Black women go where you're celebrated and appreciated.
Yup. I agree. A lot of black men (NOT ALL,and I understand NOT MOST, but enough for me to say this with confidence), are seen dating the whole spectrum of the rainbow. Black women need to realize we’re allowed to do this too. Open up our dating pool to increase more colors. There ain’t nothing wrong with that .

Black women do NOT limit yourself to Black men. And if you got to pursue and approach him first he may always be nonchalant about you just as this host’s husband appears to be. Eddie seems excited about Taj now just as he has always been which is why he approached her.

That couple of creators that directed this documentary are nothing but a bunch of mess and you kind of realize why they choose those dysfunctional couples. They see themselves in them. Black men always want you chasing them. If a man wants you, he will pursue you point blank period. And just like that woman in the audience WHENEVER WE TALK ABOUT OUR PAIN OR STRUGGLE ITS MET WITH COMEDY, SILENCE, OR TALKING TO YOU IN A ROUGH MANNER! These men are pathetic! Also, those celebrity couples that participated in this mess did it for a paycheck!
These have been so so helpful in navigating my relationship. My parents were married for 31 years so I got to see what healthy black love looks like however I think I over fantasized. So I’m really working past that lol.
These men may be looking for me, but what do they have to offer me other than heartbreak, jealousy, neediness, needing help etc. I'm open, but men that have as much to offer as I do are not speaking up, and the ones that do speak up have some growing up to do.
Excellent! Go to a Therapist where you will have privacy...sometimes it helps to talk out loud about things so you are able to make positive & healthy choices.
I'm tired of the go-to answer of: Make it happen Put yourself out there Make yourself available It ignores a lot of what black women are experiencing now. Travel, go out with friends, work, etc. and the men are: married, emotionally unavailable, non-committal, with other men, with white men, otherwise not relationship material. THAT'S a FACT!

I just want to thank the both of u african american men, cause i have been on and off the cliff with black men in their 50's and early 60's and i almost went into swiping white or anyother color, but since i've listened to u both i'll keep my eyes, ears and heart open, your right nothing comes easy and the way i want it to be, so i'll hang on in there.

I'm 48 and have been married once. I do not allow what I went through to be in my past relationships to define my future with another person, especially who could be my future husband that God has sent to be apart of my life. I truly believe that all that I went through has help to build my strength, trust, to get to know me a little better and to get me to a better me for my new better partner (husband). LMAO, i was wondering the same thing! I thought i was the only one that noticed that. I was so confused! Still am quite frankly, but i just concluded its not my business, lol.
She doesn’t realize that her saying that she gives up on Black men insinuating they are all the same is like a Black man saying that he gives up on Black woman like we are all the same. I’m sure she doesn’t put herself in a box with all Black women. There’s several great Black men everywhere as well as Black women. That’s an internal thing she has going on, but she doesn’t realize it. Our inner world creates our outer world. I hope she finds peace with that because I can tell she is a good woman, not just a good Black woman, but a good woman Period.
You have to learn how to discern who to talk to. Sometimes people can be your friend and know how to be unbiased and give you sound advice. On the other hand you have people who will tell you to leave, but in many cases they aren’t trying to destroy your marriage. They really just hate to see you going thru what you’re going thru, so the only advice they know to offer you is to leave the situation. They truly think it is going to help you. Those people aren’t trying to destroy your marriage. You just have to know that they aren’t the people to go for that type of situation. You learn to talk to them about other things like sports, news or whatever positive things you have in common. People have different places in our lives and that’s okay.

For women here saying blackmen aren't worth it, is that REALLY your answer to black men saying black women aren't worth it? 🤦🏾♂️I just think you must look for love as you recognise it, to say looking for black love sounds limiting. However, what are the chances of finding love/connection within another background/culture other than yours?
TurquoisePurpleSky Sky As if being Single is a badge of shame. Marriage is not a Status symbol to be achieved within a certain frame of time to keep up with everyone else. A little PDA just solidifies the point the couple is trying to make. It's not a dead give away but more often than not its a definite tell.
@TurquoisePurpleSky Sky well dear, I'm a happily married woman and I also see that her body language IS off. She's turned away from her man with her hands in between her legs most of the time while he's sort of turned into her. Then turned away. They're bodies don't even touch!

People are entitled to state their opinions or observations without being insulted. Just as you say what goes for me may not go for others, people pointing out that they're not affectionate doesn't mean they're single as is not the case with me. Kudos on being married that long, I pray that it's happily married, as length is not always the best indication of a good marriage😊
