The "Secret Area" is actually part of the story, which will be continued there. It's not really a secret, you could get there even in the original game prematurely, also not able to do anything there yet.

Honestly would've been cool (and fitting for the time period, and also since it's impossible for a game to perfectly replicate reality, in this case the reality of Black Mesa) if the game they were playing on the arcade machines were the original Half-Life: Opposing Force, and the original Azure Sheep mod.
it's a mod on the black mesa steam workshop and it's not complete, it only goes up to the end of chapter 4. what's already there is definitely worth playing, though. feels like crowbar collective themselves made it

That is infact not Breen. Dr. Breen was the administrator so Black Mesa. The scientist is this shot said "If I can't get my report *into the administrator* in the next hour---" a few minutes prior. And that is also not a gaming laptop.

@@bendo3because operation Black Mesa exists for Opposing Force and Black Mesa Blue Shift came out first because the OBM developers are taking their sweet ass time. The main Black Mesa beat them to the punch way back in 2012 (shareware version) and by 2019 they got the full version with all of Xen too. Meanwhile Operation Black Mesa has nothing, unless you count the new steam page it later got.
