Hearing that "Iowa" reference was pretty cool. I'm from and still live in Iowa and i remember Slipknot from the beginning. It's really weird bc everyone here talked about Slipknot all of the time but it just seemed like it was because it was the only band that was making it for the most part, but eventually it set in that those dudes were actually making waves worldwide. To this day when I go to shows and talk to bands that come through, most of them mention that they grew up listening listening to Slipknot or wouldn't have started making music if it wasnt for them.

someone once commented that he doesn't use the sticks upside down because of more power but because he got used to playing like that - he couldn't afford new drum sticks in his early days so he just flipped the broken ones and got used to playing like this
