He is actually a pretty good black metal vocalist (believe it or not, these high pitch screams are very difficult to do). He just needs to do some breathing exercises.
Indeed I thought the same thing. A lot of vocalists have a hard time figuring out how to get the high register. I thought this guy had great potential.
The owner of the label who also happens to be the most metal person on this planet released a black(ish) metal EP recently so I'm sure he would know. Futhermore when you're the vocalist of Pantera you can talk shit to just about everyone and get away with it. Trust me Phil can say just about anything and get away with it.
I haven't met anyone who has more courage than this Black Metal Singer.He knew it would be unpopular and did it anyway.That takes real courage.Thumbs UP.

His technique is shit tho, he stops after 15 seconds to catch his breath. And judging by his coughing it's likely that if he keeps doing this kind of vocals he'll fuck his voice up

I've been recently trying to learn metal vocals, and I wasn't prepared for how lightheaded it can make you. I honestly had to pull over before I blacked out during a Marilyn Manson song.

lol well this guy has some guts but really made a fool of himself. I mean a Naglfar vocal cover is no doubt difficult and it really wont sound good without any music. Although I must say i truly enjoyed the horror on the judges faces as well as the looks the singer gives when he was running out of breath. Overall hilarious
His vocals are actually really good, he just needs lessons on breathing. Im always surprised when people in the music industry can't appreciate the talent needed to metal scream . Its hard... but yeh this video is really funny. Poor guy sounded like he was gonna pass out 🤣
So funny, love this, watched it multiple times per day. The part where he almost pukes and the judge covering his mouth in shock is priceless! This kid could have a future in black metal...it's pretty damn hard to shriek like that.
Watching this video you can tell he's definetly a sweet kid who's misunderstood which totally explains why he has such faith in Black Metal. Although I don't like Black Metal the kid did a great job. I feel sorry for him when he forgot the lyrics but your nerves certainly do get the best of you.

@Hammersmashed68 depends on vocal style, if your going for a raw almost shout like sound then usually large breaths will be used to maximize power. I myself am a screamer(nothing like this dude) and use small amounts of breath when screaming, while im still loud as hell. Im not sure what he was going for here honestly.
