I love how no one (or very few people) have the same exact ranking. Like you said, there isn't exactly a terrible episode. Just people's different perceptions, opinions, and experiences making their list.

Hated in the Nation is one of my favourite episodes. It has a real punch on how pack mentality plus technology can turn people into judge, jury and executioner.

Unfortunately, no, I don’t agree with you, but I think that’s what makes Black Mirror that much more amazing - it’s like discussing musical taste. Everyone is different. And at the same time, I don’t think I’d be able to compile a list from worst to best on this series. Certainly, episodes stand out as better and worse, but putting them into some kind of order must have been extremely difficult. Regardless, I love your coverage on Black Mirror, you do a great job breaking down one of my all time favorite shows. Thanks for all the hard work!

Men Against Fire was a fantastic episode. Commentary on technology, military disenfranchisement, military brainwashing, and eugenics. This was a perfect allegory. One of my favorites.

Am I the only person who really didn’t enjoy The Entire History of You? The tech was cool, but the story was so boring to me. I had a hard time getting through it and I don’t understand why everyone loves it.

i feel like the ending of shut up and dance was more powerful. the moms words are so heart wrenching and disturbing and the police lights fading in as the Radiohead song climaxes is terrifying and gives me chills every time.

My Top 23 23 - Metal Head Story could have been great. I just found it really boring. Execution was good but other than the lack speech and colour it ain't great. 22 - The waldo moment I truly thought I liked it but truly it's bland. 21 - Men against fire Great Idea but I had no connection. The pasting was bad. 20 - Be right black I found the episode truly, truly bland. It was way to long and a daunting watch. 19 - Arkangel Truly it was the acting of the older version of the daughter. She dragged it down. 18 - Hated by the nation Story could have been great but it's an episode I'd watch while scrolling through my phone. No connection really. 17 - Rachel, Jack and Ashley too Boring. I liked the real Ashley and love the part where she was shouting at her aunt it was really good. But it was not black mirror. 16 - Playtest I think this episode relied way to much on you being shocked by the ending. 15 - Fifteen million merits I think its the pasting. He just falls in love with her out of no where. 14 - The National anthem The story had me interested 100% in. The execution though and the style not so much 13 - Black Museum The first story was the best in my opinion. The ending ruined it for me. Nish putting rolo in his own trap just wasn't a great ending 12 - The entire history of you I love it. However it's just so simple. It had no real twist it was one predictable story that was executed well. 11 - Hang the DJ I think the concept and the side a character's is what made it shine for me. 10 - Crocodile The scenery. Beautiful. The story. Jaw dropping. Amazing just not black mirror. 9 - Uss Callister The acting is fantastic. The story great. Twists and turns just so original and amazing. The ending truly ruined it. 8 - White bear The concept and execution is what make it stand out and shine. However the colour and scenery could have been more. 7 - San Junipero I think its fantastic, however the fans have over hyped it. Kellys and yorkies story's were fantastic the colours and sound track were fantastic. I truly hope uploading people into the cloud becomes a thing. 6 - Striking vipers A great look at relationships and sexuality. Original and has the best line of season 5. Ending was surprising and it truly felt down to earth. 5 - Bandersantched The dark turn it takes is seamless and your forced to keep your attention on this episode. No turning away no distraction. Just the beautiful Colin. 4 - Nosedive Very real story and the fall of lacy is depicted perfectly. The world building and colours are outstanding. 3 - White Christmas Originality, technology, ending, twists it was just all great. Feeling a real connection to every person in this story. 2 - Smithereens The only black mirror episode to make me cry. Close to home and extremely realistic characters. All characters felt real and Chris CARRIED the entire story on his back. Outstanding episode. 1 - Shut up and dance Only episodes to have me shocked for days over my own choices. Fantastic. Amazing. Truly great

I love the fact that everyone has different opinions on what their favorite episode is. My favorite one is Nosedive, btw.

Everyones out here sayin Smithereens was great, so imma just say it: I thought it sucked. Dont get me wrong, because watching at first in the beginning, I loved it. The main character getting into such deep shit by kidnapping the kid led me to believe it would easily be my favorite episode of the season. But the ending just disappointed me. Not only did the thing with his fiancee seem predictable and just bleh, but the open ending when the gun is fired felt lazy.

My favorite is a tie between “Nosedive” and “Playtest.” Season 3 was just really great in general.

Setting it in the present day to show our dependence and addiction to our phones is a perfect set up for every other episode because it's like it's foreshadowing the future episodes where the reliance on technology is even greater. unpopular opinion- Smithereens is pretty easily my least favorite black mirror episode. i’d say it’s at least on the same level as The Waldo Moment for me. i love that everyone has their own taste in the “black mirror universe”. there’s definitely at least one episode for anyone out there. it’s fun to see which episodes stick with certain people, while for others they’re forgettable.

Okay most people are doing their top five, but I’m doing all the episodes 23. The Waldo Moment (just plain boring to me) 22. Striking Vipers (again, boring. Had no real stakes for me) 21. Men Against Fire (I just didn’t really get into it but has a much better concept than the previous) 20. Rachel Jack and Ashley Too (too Disney channel-y but very well acted on Mileys part) 19. Hang the Dj (not bad by any means, from here on out in fact they are all good its just my preference, a nice concept and very good acting) 18. Bandersnatch ( very enjoyable and influencing the plot was fun but felt a little shallow) 17. Crocodile (very chilling and the ending is so brutal but I felt a little detached) 16. The National Anthem (classic episode and conversation starter but doesn’t hold up to some other episodes) 15.Metalhead (super brutal and chilling and it’s dark simplicity works in its favour) 14.Arkangel (enjoyable concept but the fact that the daughter was supposed to be fifteen just screws up the vibe) 13.Smithereens (absolutely beautiful acting and a fantastic ending) 12.Nosedive (eye catching cinematography and painfully relatable story) 11. San Junipero (well crafted and beautiful romance story, well deserved of its awards even if its a bit overrated) 10. White Bear is my alltime favorite. The story device is something I've wanted to do for years, but had never seen it done before - the idea of watching a character and thinking they were a victim until you find out the truth.

Number 1: The entire history of you...... I HAVE TO LAUGH

in my opinion, hated in the nation had one of the most lasting effects on me out of all of black mirror. it felt like something so similar to things that are happening in today’s world, and the fact that the killing of hundreds of thousands of people was unpreventable in the end added an unmatched poignancy and a feeling of inescapable dread to the overall mood of the episode. with the parallel between the robotic bees in this story and the rapidly decreasing population of bees in our world, as well as the usage of twitter to carry out the #deathto movement, it felt like something that could potentially happen in the next decade or so. all in all, it was just entirely too real and uncomfortable jarring in that black mirror way that i appreciate so much

In my opinion black museum was my favorite not only because of the plentiful of Easter eggs I loved but the way they incorporated multiple technological advances from different episodes into this one and the multiple twists in the end not to mention Rolo is my favorite character fs, it has such a powerful message to me but that’s what I love about black mirror every single person will have different view on every episode it’s really in the eye of the beholder

We all have such varying experiences and opinions, it’s what makes watching Black Mirror so intriguing. I think the one that was the most powerful was 'Playtest' It was the only one that made me like physically overwhelmed with emotion. 'Rachel, Jack, and Ashley too' has to be my least my favorite, because it didn't feel like a black mirror episode to me at all besides the implement of the cookie. It felt more like a teen drama with the format, the high jinx, the ending.
