its the kind of music you have to listen to a few times in order to appreciate it... then boom, you get hooked on it and end up listening to it again and again.

I'm not even from Pitt, but I have an honest taste for Psychadelic tendency(or in their case nothing but Psychadelic no tendency to it) and Black Moth really give it their own flare. These guys are highly underrated, and so is this style of music. I really wish people would gravitate more to this and open their UPS sealed minds. They could have so much fun.
I found out bout them in 2019 when I was listening to acts that were going to perform at a festival. I was immediately hooked on "I think it is beautiful that you are 256 colors too ". Great track and the video is trippy.

The cd version has a hidden track if you rewind for 1:28 on track one. I told the band I found it back when the album came out and they said not even their close friends knew about it. You're welcome! Also, the only other album I know that you can rewind to negative time on track one is 311's Transistor.

Earl Sweatshirt brought me here. The music is great but the music videos I've seen have been even better. Amazing job synching up the music to creepy videos giving the whole experience this dark net deep web feel. Like I shouldn't be watching this but can't look away.
I'm a fan of Boards of Canada, Todd Rundgren, Love, Tame Impala, MBV... for some reason, this band totally slipped thru the net. Well, better late than never! At least now I know! Fine work indeed.
I can almost say with certainty that this album will be revered for pioneering the modern electronic scene in about 15 years. The addition of vocals to a heavily electronic track will bring about a musical revolution.
This album, cLOUDDEAD's debut comp, and MHTRTC by BOC are probably my top lo-fi albums. So much beautiful music in this sort of grainy, hip-hop inspired style
Dig! Nothing like the movement of sound throughout the years. Having a hard time breaking free of All Them Witches, Bardo Pond and their side projects, Electric Moon, Explosions in the Sky, MONO (the real Japanese Mono), Hammock, Dead Meadow, Moon Duo, Colour Haze, The Machine, every Boris lp every made; and now BMSR. This is just such a gift. If you dig psych you dig psych it does not matter the decade or age, all that matters is that it began with Wagner, Mahler and then was reborn with Reich Music for 18 Musicians. Psych Rock is my favorite and always has been back to my childhood in the 70s.
this band and mac miller make me so proud to be from PGH. its a smaller city but it has produced some amazing artists over the years (and im not even mentioning other legends like andy warhol)
+Rhodri Thomas .... It's so true though. I like to consider myself a very well-rounded music fanatic yet I can't help but to continue coming back to BMSR/Tobacco as my absolute favorite of all time. The way the chord progressions and melodies are layered is in my opinion unparalleled in any sort of modern or classic music, hence my own and many other's obsession with this beautiful artist:) Not saying you or anyone in particular agrees with me, just thought I'd share an opinion in general agreement with yours! BMSR and Tobacco are dope. I saw Tobacco live a few years back... that dude is out of his fucking mind. There was a video of vintage pornography playing in between bits of unsettling imagery, wrestling, blood, black metal bands, etc.
Heard a song called a song called Soul Finger by the Bar-Kays the other day and beat myself up thinking it was a Tobacco song. It was Melt Me off this album, good song, I got to listen to some more Bar-Kays.
