Black Mountain - a beautiful town on the southern end of the Black Mountain Range. The small town of less than 8,000 residents is part of the Asheville Metropolitan Area. Black Mountain is located 14 miles east of downtown Asheville!
The town is named for the train stop at the Black Mountain Depot and was incorporated in 1893.
The town has two Christian retreat centers which are Montreat College and Ridgecrest.
