I just saw the video of Ashlyn playing this 2 years ago, when she was nine - she was incredible then, and now? Woah! She should be proud, and her folks should be just as proud. Ashlyn: keep playing. you are briiliant, period.
@@dunruden9720 no bravo is for man and woman I’m French and I think that I know my language there is no masculine or feminine in bravo fille tu as beaucoup de talent bravo encore you have lots of talent girl and you should be proud of yourself because you are playing very well bravo 👏
WOW! Jaw dropping. I want to grow up to be like you( Im 61) .Refreshing to see a young person playing with passion and joy. What an inspiration.Born to be a star*
Came here from the big sandy river video. All I can focus on is the clear dent in the couch from where the cat likes to sit. Awesome video, very good music. Subscribed looking forward to more.
Greetings from England, I and a Singer songwriter, if you type in Ron Ryan, Nassington Flyer you can hear one of my songs with some of my English and Irish friends. So I think I know a great picker when I hear one, and you are some picked!!! very well done.
@@larrysmith7188 Many thanks for that. I woke up this morning (sounds like the start of a Blues song LOL), with you playing 'Black Mountain Rag' in my head, what a great way to start a day!!! I have a friend in Texas Jim Lamb, he is on youtube he like you is another very fine picker, when you have time ceck him out I think you would enjoy his playing.
A few mins ago I watched the video you posted 2 years ago of you playing this very tune. I noticed you added some embellishments to your playing. Both versions are well done. thanks for posting
thats amazing young people playing this andthey pick it up so quickly keep playing and practicing you have a natural knack for the guitar ,Awesome playing !!!
I have been playing for ever and never got in the habit of looking at my neck when playing.now after 50 plus years i look down once in a while and have no idea what fret i have been in.Thank god for muscle memory. You will become an amazing guitarest. You have great control of your left index. It guides you to the proper finger for the next note perfectly.Keep it up.I am a big fan now.
A friend of mine Robert Feathers plays with just the 3 fingers of the left as Ashlyn is doing. I don’t know how they do it without their 4th small finger.
I don’t think that level of picking can be learned. You either got or you don’t . You can learn a few chords and may pick out a melody or two. But not this level .
You have a beautiful talent playing fast like you do now if you don’t slow down you will have a speeding ticket LOL you are pretty and your playing this song and you don’t have to see what you hands are doing what they are supposed to play and you never looked at your guitar or anything else that is beautiful to see you playing like that at your age and I look at the same song but you have to use the couch to old your guitar and now you can take care of holding it the right way you grew up a lot in 2 years but your hand is so accurate that I can’t believe how beautiful you are and how you have a really good talent for guitar your amazing to look at your finger moving the way that you do I wish I could move my finger that fast
Dam Girl you make that look easy. I wish my fingers could move that fast. I sound like a cat on a piano moving up and down the frets Makes me want to practice some more. Great picking.
Very nice playing! I couldn't play that when I was 11, nor when I was 21, 31, 41 or 51! It sounds to me like the guitar could do with a setup, though. There's a bit of fret buzz going on.
She got her first guitar at 5 and took regular lessons. a great many bluegrass jammers gave her a chance to play. She was playing on stage at five at a local Bluegrass venue and Many kind Bluegrass Stars began asking her to play a song with them on stage.Kind folks like Gary Brewer, Josh Williams, Kenny Smith, Little Roy Lewis, Rhonda Vincent, Sammy Adkins, Ralph Stanley II, Trey Hensley and Rob Ickes and many more! With encourgement like that she formed her own Bluegrass Band"Kentucky Borderline" and Played gigs and Festivals in several states. She has Played at the Ryman Auditorium with Rhonda Vincent and the Rage when 9 years old, IBMA Kids on Bluegrass, SPBGMA awards showcase. Been on Local and National tv and Radio like Woodsongs and Local Bluegrass Radio shows. She loves to play with the best of the best and does not like to be outdone. Her Teacher Is Jeff Guernsey( Former member of the Vince Gill Band, and Former teacher of another very well known Bluegrasser, Micheal Cleaveland (A Grammy Winner and 11 time IBMA Fiddler of the year! She works so hard at it and I think it shows!
this kind of talent is the result of hours spent drilling. It produces robotic, consistent yet dynamically and emotionally restricted playing style. Perfectly fine but not the real deal when it comes to pickers
