It would be really good if GamingBolt could make an interview with Black Myth: Wukong's director and ask him some specifics regarding exploration and level design (in other worlds, ask about what players will do between bosses). Also, asking about the game's average length would be important. So far, we only have that "30-40 hours" rumor.
@@babayaga9805Before there were rumors that the game was 40 to 50 hours, it just wasn't confirmed. Now I don't believe it will be that long because 15 to 20 sounds reasonable. But if it was 40 to 50, it could be because you want to 100% the game. Plus it will take longer for majority of people to y this game for the very first time. Everyone is not going to beat this in 10 hours or less when It releases. Plenty of people are going to get clapped for hours. Lol

This is the game I look forward to the most in 2nd place. I think. A lot of games coming out soon I want but what I look forward to the most is phantom Blade.
@@themurdock619 Black Myth will be the best of 2024, and better than PBlade. But Pblade will be fun no doubt. Been some people who already got their hands on both many hours of play. Phantom Blade isn’t Soulslike whatsoever really, more God of War. So it def will be good , but there will be others that are much better next year as well besides Phantom Blade. Quite a few coming next year and 2026 that will be intense and amazing really.

Basically a smaller scale/scope Chinese GOW with more emphasis on boss battles ala DS games but 🤷🏻♂️ Seems cool to me regardless 😎 Wifey already said she coppin this for me because she likes how it looks 🤣 I’ll take it! 💯
The most exciting features is the color loot rarity gear and set bonus effect. Time to find those legendary tier gear and make a build out of it. Hopefully the set bonus and higher tier rarity gear really make a difference in gameplay and build.

Are you one of the people who think it is? Cause I'm sorry to say you are wrong. A big aspect of souls like is the build factor(multiple weapons/ armor) and spec screen. This game has a move upgrade system and forms...

With this logic, nothing should have a cooldown so you can just spam all of your most powerful magic over and over again. There has to be balance in a game dude. It's effectively the same as stamina in any other game like this. They just use a counter instead of a bar at the top of your screen.
You mention "boss rush" style of play, but there has been at least one or two people that say there is actually more to the gameplay. With that in mind... Can you confirm whether it is mission based (more like DMC or Nioh) rather than a connected world (Souls , FFXVI, or GoW 2018)? Also, is there much exploration, shortcuts, puzzle solving, collectibles (like Nioh Kodama) in the levels or is it just linear kill some enemies, boss fight, rinse, repeat? Single player only or some form of multiplayer co-op?
@@roksitzenfrei hm I guess that’s a good thing? I just hope out of all those 80 bosses they’re not the same or variants of each other. The fact that it’s been reported that some are optional, makes me happy - I love optional bosses. Unfortunately, I won’t be playing the game till the Xbox version releases so I got time to see how it reviews👀

Sigh, I'm probably going to get it anyway but I'm sick of boss rush. I want levels and exploration with cool things to do. That is why Elden Ring did so well. It wasn't just the bosses, it was the mysterious places you can explore.

i recently just beat Elden Ring for the first time and I'm going through my first play through in Sekiro, should be perfect timing to tackle this game at launch and experience a fresh Soulslike game without much spoilers and hand holding.

people say 15 hours is way to short? every dark souls game if you dont die (alot) to bosses can be done in 6 hours by most people. elden ring you only need to defeat 8 bosses to finish the game, making it possible to beat it in 2 hours by most people after getting the route you need. Bloodborn as well is a fairly short game it only took me 12 hours to complete on a casual playthrough (first playthrough). Sekiro is the shortest game of them all where most people would use everything between 15-20 hours on first playthrough. and speedrun (glitchless) takes less than 35 min. So for a casual playthrough Wukong being 15 hours is perfect, and that is just to get through the game, there is probably some farmable stuff, extra bosses to kill. i bet to 100% the game for the first time will take 40+ hours without a guide. bioshock is considered one of the best games of all time and that game is 12 hours long. and people still play that game to this day, finding new stuff and just having a blast. Portal 2 takes 8 hours to complete Batman: Arkham Knight 17 hours Doom 2016 (11 hours) god of war 2018 (20 hours) NieR: Automata (20 hours) Half-Life 2 (13 Hours) Undertale (7 hours) Dishonored ( 12 hours) Far cry 3 (16 hours) Assassin's Creed II (19 hours) Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales (7 hours) Resident Evil Village (10 hours) all of these games are great games, some of them have been contenders for GOTY. just because the game just from start to finish is only 15 hours, that is just story, there is so much more than just story, you have sidequests, collectables, challenges. (no hit runs) etc. Wukong has the possibility to be something great and maybe become GOTY. even cyberpunk is only 30 hours long. if you skip cutscenes its a really short game. go have fun with the game
Pretty sure when people keep bringing up the time it is in the context of we've been hearing about this game for half a decade, maybe a little more meat on the bone would justify that more. Also idk where you're gettting all those flat numbers from, a lot of those are if you bumrush the main game. From the sounds of it, this is only that direct route with little side stuff so it kind of makes all those comparisons moot.

If you read and watch Journey to the West, Sun Wukong battle many beasts, demons, devils, dragons and gods. What people doesn't understand is that all the beasts, demons, and devils are pets, that goes off on it's own or run amuck on the world, to the gods. The ice dragon that Sun Wukong fight is perhap one of the chosen to help the monk's pilgrimage to India. That dragon could be the horse of that monk. I said COULD BE.
Definitely looking forward to this game. I am just torn on getting it for PS5 or Steam. If it runs on Steam Deck or ROG Ally, definitely getting the Steam version. On the other hand, I need to use my PS5 more.
I will definitely wait for the Reviews. According to the Devs, game is only 15 hours long. Given the fact that there will be around 80 Bosses in the game, it raises my concerns that it will indeed be just a Boss Rush Game.

There are a LOT of bosses. Looks like it will have about as many as ER, with far far less hours of gameplay before you're done. I think that's what's addressed.

Sure, every game should not be pre-ordered because of certain content. But that shouldn't mean that all games are not worth pre-odering.

There’s a reason open world games like Elden ring, red dead redemption 2, Witcher 3, ghost of Tsushima, assassin’s creed odyssey, Zelda tears of the kingdom, fallout 4, and Skyrim are top dogs, because each person gets immersed into thier own unique experience. The lingering thought in the back of your head that your heading towards a secret keeps you constantly engaged wondering if your the first to find a certain interaction.
My only concern is whether it supports 21:9 ultrawide. The fact that it's a 'boss battle' centric game doesn't bodes well with my gaming preferences too. The star of the show is its Unreal 5 engine graphics.
POINT NUMBER 16: This is digital only. So when you buy this you technically don’t own the game. You own a license for the game. So if you get this for PS5, Sony might decide the take the game away in the future. Idk the game, but I think this happened recently actually. This reason alone has given me hesitation on “buying” it. Buy the time that happens it’ll be a year and years from now and I probably won’t care about playing the game anymore anyway lol So I’ll still get the game, but now I’m waiting for tons of good reviews before hand. It LOOKS amazing though!
No physical medium for this game for now. Im sure it would sell in record numbers. Hopefully they release a physical version on ps5, xbox x and series. I might pull a double to give more support to a small 3rd party developer. Also to protest (support) against SBI, DEI and Western influence. I just want game for game sake like the golden age of gaming 90s-mid 2000. No to barely any politics, no to barely internet requirements, full game, no to barely any DLC, fun gameplay and story.

Just remember that if you don’t like Nioh and it’s mission base you won’t like this game. 👀 In my opinion this game had an opportunity to give Elden Ring competition if they made it more open considering it’s Wukong, but whatever I guess. Hopefully it’s still good but my expectations are low especially after only seeing bosses and not more landscape and enemies leading up to the bosses. 👀
