Great video, will have to check this out now too, btw Textures on Medium and global illumination on Medium will make it look 10X better with little performance drop ;)

@@GrownUpGamingGUG I think the most important thing is to enjoy the game rather than looking into tiny flaws and just appreciate this. Thanks to you I learned everything about my SD.
This is incredible stuff. Really, really well explained and delivered. Keep up this up mate. You have a real eye for detail but also a pleasant delivery about you, which made me want to keep watching what you said till the end.
This is cool but my experience with frame generation is that it is mostly illusionary as it doesn't magically mitigate latency from the underlying base framerate running at 25-30 fps. I'm not saying its unimpressive but a game requiring good parry timing and fast response might not be so great with this.
At first I was trying to figure out why it wasn’t working when I did all the steps right, it was only running at 35/40FPS. Then realize I had the performance settings/frame limit to 40FPS 😅 I ended changing it back to 60FPS and haven’t had a problem stays between 59/61FPS I haven’t tried the boss fight to see if it dips but I’m satisfied. Thank you for all your videos and all you do to make our experience on the Deck better and enjoyable.
Thanks for vid! I tried it and it gets good frames BUT there is a ton of glitching around the edges of the screen plus flickering - did you get any of this?
The UI flickering can be fixed by matching the resolution to your screen. play around with the resolution. Some even said change from borderless to windowed fix it for them but I'm ok with borderless.
@@theconsolethief OMG hahaha i checked .... and you are RIGHT! it just seems so.... unprofessional for windows not that i mind i just figured they were too up there own asses to call it something funny like this. THX for smartenng me upto it

Just came across your video after thinking of playing Black Myth on my steam deck while I'm in bed, and I managed to follow your instructions and the mod was installed successfully, got medium textures and illumination, still got 40 fps, game still looks great! thanks!
@@ALEXANDERz99 you probably need to set textures back to low. On the steam deck screen it doesn't really make a difference. Anything above low textures may have these blue artifacts on screen.

@@GrownUpGamingGUG I can't seems to find the dlss option in wukong game graphic settings even after following each of your steps in the videos. All I'm seeing are TSR, FSR and XESS. Am I doing something wrong? I need help.
i tried this using beta 14, but FG does not work, so beta 11 seems to be the only way to use DLSS + FG. i was put off on trying this game on my deck until this vid popped up, and now it looks good and runs well, even if the frames are “fake.” definitely beats using FSR. great vid!
@@GrownUpGamingGUG Is there a way to play at 1280x800? And is it okay to use version 3.02.000.0? I’m currently playing with the version you mentioned, but wouldn’t the latest version run more smoothly?
@@Bgh2089 1280x800 has top and bottom black bars and it flickers a bit when FG is on. You can try newer versions of the mod but not necessarily will be better. As long as it works it should enable fsr 3.1 frame generation regardless so I don't think there is an improvement unless it uses a newer fsr version.
I came across your channel by chance. I am still waiting for my oled 512 to arrive in early September. I am currently studying various information. When I first encountered emudeck, it seemed too cumbersome. I also learned about the problem of its forced update at each launch. Therefore, I began to look for information on installing individual emulators for certain types of platforms. I found a lot of new information on your channel. I will gradually educate myself in this matter thanks to you. Prosperity to your channel. Like and subscribe.
Thanks for the video, very helpful but i have a question please. Does installing those modes and deleting certain files as u showed and replace them, does it effect the game in anyway ? Like savings for example or the game files ?
I'm new to making any tweaks or mods on the Steam Deck OLED. I recently finally installed cryoutilities and tried the 4GB VRAM boost adjustment and saw a great performance boost for Black Myth Wukong. Upper 50s to 60fps with FSR and frame gen on, low settings, 60hz locked at the system level. If you've compared the two, would you say DLSS mod is better than cryoutilities VRAM adjustment for this game and others?
@GrownUpGamingGUG The DLSS mod work! thanks ! Your display is still look better than mine, so any other display enhanced mod installed? and please share your game display & graphics settings.
thank, i can confirm it works and boosted peformance, do you think it should also work on legion go too in windows? ive tried but say i need to enable hardware schedule
It also works on legion go but since the screen is bigger, the flaws are more noticeable. And the legion go can run the game pretty well by itself so I rather just play with better graphics fidelity on legion go. The steam deck really needs the help.
great video, thank you very much. I only have one question though, I followed all the steps and unlocked DLSS in the settings but if I set the texture quality to medium the ground fills with blue squares. Is this normal or did I do something wrong?
Do you experience performance issue on chapter 2? It works wonderfully well on chapter one, but there’s a heavy stutter while fighting boss on chapter 2 makes it, really hard to play
Vulkan support is still under development. Some Vulkan games may or may not work until the final release on Nexus, ie support for Doom Eternal (upscaling only) will be added in BETA 12, No Man's Sky (upscaling + frame generation) works for now only on GTX and RTX GPUs, etc... Baldurs Gate 3 hasn't been tested at all yet.
@@aargoth82 I see. Any idea if the dev teams have plans for bg3? I hear patch 7 has some performance Improvements especially in act 3 . But with frame gen it will be perfect for it. Since the game is turn based I don't mind the input latency at all
Hey man! Love your channel! Can you list your exact settings in-game and steamOS as I installed and don't see a difference in fps.... still getting max 27 fps.

It does but the prerequisite is the game needs to support dx12 and dlss2/dlss3 support. The newer mod release versions supports dx11 and Vulcan for upscaling only but I've not tested them out yet.
Greating Fxxkin video !! Gonna share to steam deck fb since there blowing it up about this game. Question if you cap frames to 30 and go up to med or high quality settings along with balanced fsr think itd run and look smooth.?
@@GrownUpGamingGUG worth a try tho since you got it. Thinking cuz if you were to dock it to a big screen im sure it wouldnt look as good. Id try it but Gave in and went ps5 for this 1. I mean if you got the time. Sure itd b a quick video 💪🏻
Nice vid! However, what is the benefit using this dlss mod over the implemented fsr solution in game directly? I assume the mod also uses fsr in the background?
I'm guessing you didn't watch the video as I compared the built in fsr+FG and the dlss+FG mod early on in the video 😂 the built in one doesn't get you 60 fps even if you set the lowest settings. You should try it.
@@GrownUpGamingGUGhehe, I saw the video and a lot of your others with dlss mods too. I was just wondering how this can be? but I found the answer. wukong only has built-in fsr 3.0 and the mod uses fsr 3.1 for „dlss“. this would explain the better image. Still wondering why you do not have more fps with the built in frame gen. I saw other steam deck videos with 50-60 fps for wukong using the built in fg. maybe they have the oled model.
I followed what you did, but proton trucks gave an error during that process, but I guess it’s ok since you said it wasn’t needed anymore. However, when I am in settings, it doesn’t allow me to select DLSS as there’s no option for it (side-scrolling through the option) So I used FSR+FG and indeed the fps went from 28-34, to 48-64. I did the resolution rescaling to avoid the artifacts, so that went well. So my question is, how come DLSS isn’t showing as an option? On a 512GB OLED by the way. Your advice would be appreciated.
Thank you very much for indicating that. I eventually went back and re-did the entire setup, and managed to follow through step by step and it works!!! 🥰
Just to be curious if i install this mod on my 3070ti laptop …is it worth it?like fsr and fg works now…but there is input lag. So my real question is how is the inputlag with the mod compared to enable fsr in game with FGen
Are you using a certain proton? My game has been crashing a lot, and the menu lags. Sometimes the screen stutters when I put my Steam Deck to sleep too.
Do you know if this mod would work for the First Descendant? With everything in low and FSR2 it looks pretty bad, maybe with DLSS it would look better. Thanks!
Will this work with Street Fighter 6 and Monster Hunter Rise, and if so, where would I put the DLSS files? It's "common" contents are different from Black Myth. Does those games running on the RE Engine matter?
Awesome vid, appreciate you saving this game for everyone! I’ve got an error with protontricks though, it says it doesn’t appear on the run/media/mmcblk0pl directory. Any advice?
Not sure why so many people have issues with protontricks edit registry but luckily this step is not needed anymore. So just go ahead and skip this step.
Firstly, this is a great and very helpful step by step guide, wish more tutorials were as explained, however i have tried this twice on my deck following it to a T and I don’t get the option of DLSS. The first time I tried it there was a notification when I installed proton tricks to copy a command line of code to somewhere but also the option to skip that and continue anyway which I did. Any ideas if that is what is preventing me from getting the end result? Any help would be greatly appreciated 🤞🏻
Thanks very much. This mod greatly improve the performance of the game. But I was wondering why the bulit-in fsr do not works like this. I thought it is also fsr 3 and should have similar effect.
Thank you for the amazing guide! I followed every step and got the game launched with DLSS (I turned off frame generation). However when I try to switch maps or load something it got stuck and I had to reboot the game, which does not happen with frame generation on. Is there any way to solve the issue😢? I prefer playing with no frame generation cuz it is more responsive
Thanks for this guide, it really helped for sure. You deserve all the praise. If I can ask a few questions . - whenever I change the quality settings there seems to be a blue ghosting effect in the environment, have you noticed this? - you also can’t set a frame limit through the settings or STEAMOS. The limiter in wukong itself doesn’t seem to work and the steamOS limiter just introduces a lot of latency. Can you confirm on your end as well?
blue ghosting effect, yes, I think becasue, I have this mod at same time, BMWK - SPF, and I clean de shader and compadata, no effect, no choice I reinstall all, and it works now
I appreciate it the help but I’m missing some textures. I’m not sure where i messed up at. I think the game might’ve been slightly improved. I might be able to mess with the setting to get it to run better but I’m still missing textures
The mod uses the latest FSR 3.1 + FG. Not sure about the built in one. There is some ghosting at the bottom of the screen where the black bar is with the mod so it's not perfect. Maybe that's why the Devs used another version to make it look better.
Thanks for the reply I appreciate you taking time out to help. I’m on OS 3.5.19, I’m considering uninstalling and reinstalling Wukong and going through the process again or is that a bit excessive? It’s hard to say where I might have missed something as I followed your video and completed the steps on my steam deck as I went pausing the video at times to make sure I was at the same stage as you. Thanks again your content is first class.
@@GrownUpGamingGUG time for me to feel stupid! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XdVnUu4EQ8s.html yes it should work the same, for starfield I've installed a paid mod way back and that worked so this free one should work the same.
How does the game look´s like, if you take 30 fps frame limit and tweak a litle bit with graphics settings? Stable 30 and good looking? is it possible with dlss mod?
@@GrownUpGamingGUG unfortunately, upon progressing into chapter 2, after playing 2-3 hours, game become laggy & froze for few second when opening menu, I have used thermal imaging to check temperature, it's about 5 degree Celsius (64) more hot than using FSR (59), not sure if you have experienced that...
@@GrownUpGamingGUG Awesome. Ray Tracing seems to be grayed out on the LCD models (the one I have). I'm still tinkering to see if there's any code to enable it. Awesome video man.
Never mind - forgot the last portion to input the launch option command. Love the video man, almost put the game down because of the graphics settings but you just saved me!
Thanks bro. I tried it last night but the input latency is what made me keeping the FG OFF. Keeping it locked at 40 FPS currently on OLED Deck. My only hope is to find a way to make it stable 45 FPS at the very least.
Don't limit frame rate as that causes input latency. Try restarting the steam deck if you have crashes. I game 30-60 minute session and have no crashing. I'm not sure if it will crash if I play longer but I don't have the luxury to game that long 😂
@@GrownUpGamingGUG Bro my bad... I thought it's to turn off frame limit on the game settings. I just tried disabling the frame limit on the deck settings and the delay's gone! You're a life saver. Thank you.
Is this possible to do on every AAA games out there? Same method (copy the dlss enabler to game folder, replacing nvngx.dll, then set a command on launch option?)
I played a bit of chapter 2 on steam deck, no issues with this mod on, but the blue squares artifacts did pop up in this chapter so I had to turn the textures to low to fix it. However I did complete most of chapter 2 on legion go 😅
Thanks man Everything works fine I tried first the last version than I tried the one that u suggested in the comments it works just the game crush too often, do u have any suggestions for that? Thanks again
that step is not required now so you can skip it. but for future games that might need the use of protontricks, are you using steamOS stable 3.5.19? some people have issues with it on beta.
I was playing Baldurs Gate 3 on my Steam Deck on a 2k monitor via the Dock (had to play via desktop mode as BD3 doesn't allow you to change the resolution when your in the default Deck UI). BD3 has a DLSS setting already but turned off by default. I got good performance with medium'ish graphics at a 2k resolution when I enable DLSS 2.0 and set the game resolution at 1080p.
thx bro❤and i tried, but when i put the texture to high, there is some blue grid on the ground, are there any ways to fix it or its only to keep the texture low😢
