Youre supposed to feel overpowered towards the end of the game. Wukong boss isnt supposed to be hard, its supposed to be him training you. Hes practically teaching/toying with you so its okay. Dont let these tryhard sweats sway you. Youre fine. Beat tf outta the bosses

Tbh im actually glad that you kept using the clones and various spells despite what you/the comments wanting otherwise. A lot people say this is a soulslike or like elden. But from what ive seen aside from drinking to heal, this game has more in common with slashers like Devil may cry and god of war. The point is to combo all your arsenal in ways that not only take down your foe, but make you look like a total badass while doing so, and given Sun wukong its pretty much Dante as monkey i feel its the best way to play this game

Something I've heard/read in other videos and comments, Erlang and Wukong fighting in the very beginning of the game wasn't just Wukong Vs. the Celestial court. It was an entire set up made by Wukong himself AND Erlang was in on the plan to purposely kill Wukong, just so he can escape from the Head Band. And it's all full proof too because: 1.) Erlang will still be accepted by the Court so he doesn't seem like a traitor by fighting Wukong by himself. Ever wondered why in his secret boss fight, the other 4 Dietys fought Wukong while Erlang ( In his Azure Lion form ) was sitting it out on purpose to see The Destined one fuck the others one up? While it can be said that he wanted to test the Destined One, it could also probably be unfair for him to jump him while the others were fighting him, so he didn't intervene. OR it could probably be that he doesn't like the Celestial Court either! ( That's just me tho ) 2.) Wukong is already a cocky guy, so him talking MAD TRASH to the other Dietys was completely in character, making the whole fake fight entirely believable. 3.) Further proof that Erlang was on Wukong's side is how much Erlang was talking about " Hm... I was wondering... is this fight also part of his plan? " during his confrontation. " I will train you in his behest " , " I thought of you every day " ( Mighty sus but yeah lmao ) 4.) A lot of the fight can be analyzed that can further provide evidence that the fight was fake just for the Celestials can buy it. - Erlang not going at full strength at the beginning of the fight could've just been the Developers nerfing Erlang for a tutorial boss for the player. But it could be a very smart story telling key point that Erlang wasn't fighting seriously at all compared to fighting The Destined one. 21:28 - Wukong stepping on Erlang's spear for a little too long for 2 people that are gonna kill each other no? And Erlang reposition his hand, kinda giving a que for Wukong to step off. 22:27 - There was absolutely no reason why Wukong and Erlang had to strike the greatest mixtape cover pose in 2024 by having the weapon like that. Wukong also put his weapon down, further strutting his cockiness, further selling it to piss off the Celestials. 5.) Erlang summoning that gigantic axe during the cutscene at the end of the Tutorial boss. Did he REALLY need to? Or did he swing it to get rid of the smaller soldiers that were in line below? ( Upon reviewing the intro cutscene, it was Erlang's Spear and Wukong's Pole clashing ( Ultra levels of Pause ) that caused the smaller soldiers to disperse all over the place. damnit. I really be spreading misinformation on broad daylight like this ) BRUH THIS GAME IS SO FIRE. I SWEAR IF IT DOESN'T WIN GAME OF THE YEAR, WE RIOT. Edit: Added a space between the _reasons_ so it can be easily readable. And also added reason 4 and 5

If you decide to play NG+ just for fun, incorporate some of the "seeing through" techniques of the stances. It really adds a deeper element to the combat when you can simultaneously parry and deal damage.

The game really kicks off in Ng+. You get new weapons, a new armor set, a new spell, and if you do enough play through you can unlock wukong stance outside of the final fight.

All these other youtubers putting self imposed restrictions, and fully respect how you said it. you are the reincarnated Wukong! you are powerful and it isn't your problem that these bosses can't handle you. I appreciate you going back and showing more of the fighting that others shy away from just because it is easy when it is just that the developers wanted you to feel powerful.

fyi: you can unlock Wukong's stance outside of chapter 6 at NG+4 where you have all 6 relics maxed out. if you use wukong's stance The Destined One actually become Wukong and yell: "Watch me" or "Let me show you what the Great Sage can do". plus: you unlock new dialog with Baije if you use Wukong's stand in front of him xd.

So from what I understand, after Wukong's death, the main thing bothering the Celestial Court were all the yaogoi kings making havoc after stealing Wukong's relics - which gave them power too great. Too much chaos. So the plan was to have the Destined One collect all of Wukong's relics in the false hope of resurrecting Wukong, then the plan was to put the crown on the Destined One to once again control Wukong. In that ending the Destined One remains in the stone egg for all eternity. Some believe the old monkey is actually the Celestial that put the crown on Wukong's head in the original Journey to the West novel but in disguise. But Wukong had a plan of his own. He intended to die a mortal death because that would free him of the crown - provided he could be reincarnated via someone like the Destined One. Whether he shares TDO's consciousness, takes it over, or becomes a whole different being is unknown, but with the "Mind" of Wukong (his memories) held by Erlang or whatever his name is, he was in on the plan. He gives Wukong's mind to TDO which allows him the wherewithal to not allow the crown to be placed on his head again in the good ending. Just like Wukong told Erlang in the final animation, he would tear the crown off and be free.

I'm surprised no one has said this yet (or maybe I just haven't found the comment yet) but you can respec your relic along with your sparks at the shrines.

11:24 you can throw it, during wukong stance (which you can get back btw if you manage to build up past the 4th focus point to a secret golden bar, cant be done by charging) you gain access to multiple different varied combos from every light attack, this includes a swipe into thrust and the giant staff sweep from the end of pillar stances varied combo. to throw your staff in wukong stance, you have to stand still and do your staff spin, then move forward to go into mobile spin, then press heavy attack

Dear Afro, if you want the animation of wukong grabbing your staff attack like the drink one? You need to do it on his first phase. All you gonna do is...When you and wukong stare at eqch other and walking, you need to charge up the Staff slam (the one where you stand on the staff up to the max while wukong is either standing menacingly or walking while staring at you charging) and he will do that animation

I think some people mad about Afro beating wukong in 1 go because they struggled and couldn't accept that Afro did it with ease. I was also surprised when Afro beat wukong with only 1 try, because it took me like about 5 good attempts, but my ego was not as weak as some of the people😅

Afro you CAN throw the staff with wukong stance only. You have to start staff spin walking then stand still while spinning and press heavy, destined one will throw the staff but you need wukong stance

you can still trigger the steal cutscene if you drink from an empty gourd, or if you put the soak that poisons yourself. Wukong will take the gourd but won't drink from it... the level of detail put in this game is insane

Afro if you want to dig further into the lore, you should watch Stories with Cookie, AvenueX, and EmpressXV (the last two are very detailed and also Chinese who live in Canada/the US). You would understand why Erlang helped Wukong, 5 of Erlang's friends who helped us reach him from each chapter (White Clad Noble, Yellow Robed Boar, Green Hat Martialist, 8 hand venom Daoist, and Ox that died by the fire cart, they all will mention "brother" and that brother is Erlang.)

I dunno if you missed it Afro, but in the opening fight Erlang and Wukong staged the whole fight so that they could both break free from the celestial court and provide a way for waking to destroy them in the future. It's really cool ngl.

Hey Afro, just here to tell you that if you beat the game three times with The secret ending and unlock all the relic talents you get the Wukong stance forever and your character starts talking in combat

You probably know this by now, but you can respec your relic in the same rmenu you respec your other stats, just tab over to the right one time, then you can pick that middle relic option

Learned something interesting today - In Japanese, Sun Goku is the on'yomi reading of the name of the character Sun Wukong from the Chinese novel Journey to the West. Which means that Goku isn’t just based off of Sun Wukong, he IS Sun Wukong. imagine a maxed out Goku hitting the pluck of many on somebody 😂
