Q ue I’m not sure what video you’re referencing specifically but it’s highly likely. There’s some videos of Hank playing with Benedict around 9 years ago so the time matches up. I also saw a past comment on one of those older videos from a guy older than Hank that said he passed the solo on to Hank. 🤷🏾♀️ All I know for sure is that Hank and William Bilal can BLOW on trombone 😂
Fonzi Wells yeah as far as I know William went to Fairfield high and then to Benedict college. Idk if his older brother Hank went to Fairfield as well but he also went to Benedict
Straight out of Winnsboro S.C.!! WIlliam Bilal is is name. Out of the House of Prayer. His brother, Hank is a nationally known trombone artist himself.......but this young man is special!!
I really like William Bilal’s playing. He feels it! The third guy was enjoyable, but I would like to see him cut loose a bit for the lead, since his playing was more the precise and technical approach. I thought the fourth one had a nice jazz vibe but that the playing needed to be tighter as a group. I’m going to give the last guy more of a listen. I didn’t think he was bad, it just seemed timid, like he was maybe shy or nervous. I like that you gave these a listen. It’s nice to have the perspective of someone who enjoys and used to play this style.
The third guy is an absolutely incredible musician, he just doesn't have the group and intermixing of tones and personality. He harmonized incredibly with himself, and rocked the song, but he didnt have the raw emotion of the first two.
bro i swear i usually just listen to dubstup but DAMN i might start listening to more of this type of stuff. music has never made me feel this type of way and its honestly addicting. so much feeling in it! i fell in love with the first 2 videos i really need more of this if there are more videos out there of this type of stuff.
That’s why they took instruments out of the schools for us music to black folks is another form of language just think about the drums when they brought us over here. One of the first things they took was the drum because that’s how we could relate to one another another form of language for usthink about this it wasn’t until the 1950s when they gave us back the drum and then you heard Dizzy Gillespie playing with China Pozo and you heard that African Cuban rhythm we are that shit❤
Love that picture of Young XXX in the back. Such a heart breaking thing to see young women and men dead before they can become the men and women we know they can be. Great vid and reactions, that brass just pierces your soul. ✊🏾
The 4th version was my favorite. That lead trombone player totally made it his own. There's something to be said about playing it as written, but jazz was about going off script on purpose, yet still keeping to form. His version was impressive.
Yeah, it was. I mean, i know that someone can play any instrument better than someone else but when he saw the white dude he immediately changed his mood and he didn't said something about his performance not being that good, he just didn't want to enjoy it
@@eugenioreyesmontoya176 I will say it is wrong how he just didn’t give bro a chance or at least explain why he didn’t like it , but he did enjoy that one white dude on the trombone and said that he did sound good .
If y’all don’t shut up. He called it trash compared to the first few. If the last guy was first he would’ve listened because he had nothing to compare it to. Y’all bust being emotionally charged cause you want to feel oppressed so bad.
