@@matjr331 Lord Hanuman is a god in Hindu Culture who has the face of a monkey over human body, who is worshipped to provide strength, mental peace and agility. He is a ardent follower of Lord Rama, and keeps him in his heart as his supreme god.
What I love about this scene is they show the value of meritocracy even though T'Challa has a birthright claim to the throne he still needs to be strong enough to physically defend his claim and therefore lead his nation.
How stupid that would actually be. When T'Challa would be 60 and still king. Having knowledge and wisdom of decades how to run his kingdom. Be overthrown by someone in his 20s because he is far younger. Who has no idea how to run a nation yet.
@@Teufer2 Well, I mean, the other representatives from the other clans and tribes who can act as valid claimants to the throne were more than likely raised in similar such manners to T'Challa, having the will and trust of their own people to lift them to a position of responsibility enough as leadership. As such, should they stake their claim due to a difference in opinion to how things in Wakanda should be run overall, should they prove not only to have the mental and emotional, but also physical fortitude to best their opponent, in which case they should be trusted to rule just as effectively and honorably, if not more so. It was only when Killmonger came in, who had valid claim to the throne but lacked the first two values needed to truly be a good king, to a people whom he had next to no relation, familiarity or common values with and instead sought to ply as mere tools for his personal vendettas, turned the system completely upside-down. It's a very Plato's Republic-type philosopher king deal, with unique traditions thrown into the mix.
@@meethindocha1824 Your interpretation of royalty is different to African concept of royalty. It is merely a tribal leader and it is often hereditary because the offspring the tribal leader sires are likely to be the best warrior and able to defend the throne. However an upstart can dethrone a incumbent king. That is meritocratic enough for me it is not like European monarchy divinely anointed which has resulted in so many incompetent kings and queen. African kings had to prove their worth.
Amazing that he did this all while battling colan cancer R.I.P King. Hope if they continue to make movies they'll start the film with a memorial service to Chad then give his "Sister" the Black Panther mantle just like in the comics
Indeed. Too many of our best and brightest have been taken long before their times. Brandon Lee, Thuy Trang, Robin Williams, so many others, and now Chadwick Boseman.
Piece of film trivia: shooting this scene actually proved to be a bit of a nightmare because between the stage lights and sun, the water refraction caused some of the actors to sustain eye damage (Daniel Kaluuya apparently had to go to the hospital because his eyes got sunburned). It got to the point whenever they were between takes, everyone one there was wearing shades.
everything else.was cgi, they should've just put cgi water while they were at it. The accents are lame, the cgi is lame, and the fight is unexciting and uncool.
"The Merchant tribe will not challenge today!" "The Border tribe will not challenge today!" "The River tribe will not challenge today!" "The Mining tribe will not challenge today!"
I don't think Disney wants to continue its relationship with Shuri's actress as she has caused public controversy with extreme bigotry and anti-vaxx conspiracy theories.
2:59 (Laughing) That little boy put his hand on his forehead reminds me from Spider-Man 3 the little boy closes his eyes when Spider-Man & Gwen Stacy kiss. UGH!!
I thought Zuri meant "The Prince will now have the strength of the Black Panther straight away." But he meant "The Prince will now have the strength of the Black Panther stripped away." I always thought it was kinda unfair that T'Challa got a power boost in a ceremony that challenges the leader of the nation if they can lead and defend their country, sending in challengers who don't have power equal to the Black Panther in combat. But now after realizing Zuri said T'Challa's powers would be stripped away for a fair match against the challenger if they become the new ruler in equal combat, kinda makes me nod in approval. After all, sometimes people want to have a fair match against someone who wishes the same.
"The Mining Tribe will not challenge today." Just learned that the actress who played Zawavari (the Mining Tribe Elder), Connie Chiume, died a few weeks ago. May she rest in the Acestral Plane with Chadwick Boseman (we all know who he was) and Dorothy Steel (the Merchant Tribe Elder).
Who’s the guy dead center in the rock stands. Hes wearing a poncho and at one point there’s a guy standing in a sweater and button up shirt behind him and he disappears near the end of the scene
I have really enjoyed this movie. I feel as though the magicians wearing purple emphasises their incredible magical power, rivalling even parry hotter, and their royalty, as they rule the world. i really want to emphasise again how much i enjoyed watching this movie
