Fades looked nice but the real winner was Vinny's badass kick in the beginning that was TIGHT!!! Enjoying the videos guys, its really helpful to hear all the denim info you guys talk about, seeing the different fades is great, and nice to know you're a fun crew, thanks!
The trunks seem to have been faded more. Would have loved to see more fade on the slubby Dark knight jeans, but they are still great. We need more black fades.
Thanks Terry and team for sharing my little denim rap, glad you guys enjoyed it! Eagerly awaiting the denim goodies coming to me from the other side of the world. I've got a feeling that it'll be a fantastic summer Xmas breaking in new jeans 😊 As for the fade battle, the more defined whiskers of Terry's Batman jeans beats down the Trunks!
yeayyy im glad you guys went with "looking on the wall" jeans so we can dive in what to be expected and be inspired! btw, i think it's raw as long as i get to put in my fades-basically any unfaded jeans-but loomstate is the "true raw".
My elephant 11 s were delivered today along with a couple of pocket tees, they're all great. I give the best fades to batman. Any new comfy cords coming? Maybe a groovy guy fit? Great episode guys, enjoy your week, cheers.
While I kinda agree with Terry about what makes jeans raw, I have to admit that the carrot analogy makes a lot of sense. That said, what takes it for me between those two jeans is the patina on the Trunks patch, ya'll made it the thumbnail for a reason lmao
@@NakedandFamousDenim LETSGOOO been waiting on an unreleased pinkish/ purple pair with a crazy weft that one of the NYC employees has been wearing for a bit. Love my N&F ❤️
New Guy - Maxime, Doctor Martens/Doc Martens/Docs are distinguished by the 360 degree yellow stitching on the soles. I own several pairs of Docs and I think you were sold some knock-offs because, those are not Docs! Black Fade Winner goes to Terry. Vincent's pair did not have honeycombs and had faint whiskers. Question: Is a Tempi Wash treatment the same as a 1-wash treatment on selvedge denim?
Ahhh.. You never know what you're going to find at the Montreal thrift stores. As for Tempi - it's not quite the same as a one wash. As one was is done using a machine to wash and dry, tempi is done by soaking by hand, and then drying in the sun.
@@NakedandFamousDenim Thank you for the clarification. Would a Tempi Wash be subject to more shrinkage once washed and dried in machines vis a One Wash pair of selvedge jeans? Or would further shrinkage be comparable?
You'd get a little more shrink out of them when you do a home hot wash and dry - no different from a sanforized pair of jeans. Minimal shrinkage that will stretch back out with wear
So hot wash and dry= sanforized. “One wash” = raw. Make it make sense. It is the hot wash and dryer what separates unsanforized from one wash? Is one wash cold water and not putting it in a dryer? Is the dryer the main culprit that makes jeans sanforized as opposed to one wash?
My Matsuri arrived yesterday, about 5 1/2 days, Canada to UK, domestic postage frequently takes that long! Not wearing them yet due to the length, thinking about some sort of turnup or taking them to a shop to get hemmed, definitely should have thought about it when I ordered. About what is raw, I was thinking, how people buy unsanforised and sanforised and soak them themselves before they wear them for the first time.
Glad they arrived so fast, isn't it amazing how quickly air mail can move compared to domestic. They did move fast because you didn't include the hemming, those orders are taking a little longer to get out.
@@NakedandFamousDenim I did wear them for about 1/2 hour in the house and will wear them while watching the livestream at least, then see if I can wear them with turnups and not drag on the floor.
Nice to see my Trunks again! I of course want to say VInce won the fade battle lol, but I gotta give it up to the batman fades too. He has combs in places I don't! Crazy how different two pairs of black jeans can fade depending on how you wear and wash em. Terry is crazy if he thinks Batman has anything on Trunks though. The dude in the cape has nothing on the super saiyan from THE FUTURE who SLICED AND DICED THE EVIL EMPEROR OF THE GALAXY. Where's batmans time machine huh?? Anyway, once again great video guys.
Denim is raw only before it's stitched, straight off the loom. So you can make a skirt with that denim, held together with a strip of denim tied round the waist.
Have to side with rawdog Vincent on this hot take. Raw is raw…* Terry’s unadulterated not heavily washed Batman’s for the win but those DBZ fades are pretty sick. Sherpa lined selvedge denim jacket pls.
No, at the moment it's not possible to create such a yarn. Rather you can make it, but the color from the center of the yarn won't end up being visible. We've tried this ever since we invented the color core denim.
alright terry won the fade battle but vincent won the fade war. trunks just can’t be beat as a whole Jean. if they were more faded they would look better but the batman fades LOOK better.
