The albums are The Headless cross, Eternal Idol, TYR,Cross purposes and Forbidden. The first three are the best and The Eternal Idol special edition comes with an extra disc of the short lived Ray Gilles version.@@retrolosopher2405

My three fave Sabbath albums with Tony Martin are "The Eternal Idol", "Headless Cross" and "Tyr".

That's twice in two days where I've read an "underrated" comment where it isn't just because Grandpa forgot something exists. Steady on, RU-vid, you might get useful!

@@JoeSiegler that’s not really true at all. Pretty sure she has legal rights to the name Black Sabbath and that’s why most of their discography sans ozzy is hard to find. Or at least was. It’s actually why when tony, bill, and geezer reunited with dio that they had to use the moniker “heaven and hell.”

The Eternal Idol was reissued a couple of years ago. The Tony Martin albums apart from that one are being reissued in a boxset at the end of May 2024 so the rest of the discography will be easy to find and purchase. The Dio albums were never difficult to find, and I also bought Born Again and Seventh Star very easily. The issue with these Tony Martin albums were the record labels they came out on, particularly IRS for Headless Cross, Tyr, Forbidden and Cross Purposes. It went bust in 1996. That was the issue with the rights to these albums, nothing to do with Sharon Osbourne. She doesn't own the rights to the Black Sabbath name. If she did own the name, Black Sabbath would have continued with Ozzy fronting it and any backing musicians they wanted. It would not have continued with Iommi.

I really hope the albums will be remastered and end up on spotify sometime. I think I heard about it years ago but nothing happend, until now!

@@d.afonsohenriques6346 Tony Martin sounds like Joey Tempest to me & I just can't un-hear it. Dreadful. I just looked at this video to hear if it had gotten better with age but sadly it hasn't. Awful. Funnily enough I saw the Headless Cross tour. I must have been drinking too much at the time. :-/

That’s actually what sparked this current resurgence of the Tony Martin content: the fact that they _can’t_ do a new album. At least under the Sabbath name. According to Tony Martin, he and Tony Iommi actually did discuss the possibility of recording some new songs and rereleasing the original Martin albums, similar to what they had done with Dio. However, as it turns out, there’s apparently an agreement that any *new* music created under the Sabbath name can only include the original 4 members. They can, however, rerelease any Sabbath music with any lineup, which is why we’re getting a Tony Martin box set at the end of May.

Cross Purposes had some stingers of songs.. that riff during The Hand That Rocks The Cradle is pure metal goodness.

TM's theatrical mannerisms are on full display in this vid. Guy was a great addition to the band and brought in something new & fresh. An excellent frontman overall.

Tony Iommi is 76 years old in remission from cancer and retired from touring Dec 4th 2017

And Cozy is well…dead…Neil Murry might be the only one from this time who may beable to play on a tour…but cozy was so important to this era too

No joke, we share exactly the same story man. Born in 89, I discovered Black Sabbath when I was 6 in 1995, on the cassette of Headless Cross. I embraced the metal family that day ^^

All of these three albums (Born Again, Seventh Star and Eternal Idol) are available - and they were released in digipack packages in recent years (these releases included live recordings as bonus or Eternal Idol early takes by Ray Gillen). However in case of Born Again, I suppose there might be new re-relase as master tapes were finally discovered and major remix should be done for new release.
