I went to a Kiss concert in 79 and Judas Priest opened . They were Awesome I have been a fan ever since that night and I'm 61 now. I'll never forget that night
Funny, same here. My brother couldn't go to the kiss show at Nassau Coliseum so I took his ticket. Judas Priest is one of my top metal bands. I've seen them at least 10 times.
@@pckiller123 at the spectrum? man that would have been a killer show. the parking lot would be up to the standard as well. i partied with so many cool people outside of shows like that in philly and met some great people.
Driving to this song while cruising on a freeway late at night with a big city skyline glowing in the horizon with the unknown thought of what the night may bring is how I roll to Turbo Lover..... Long lives real metal. \m/ Judas Priest rules....
I remember discovering this song far too along in life. Saying to a friend, how come I've never heard this before? Great song...works well with anything like this.
Second loudest band I ever saw compared t Kiss as the loudest. I got up front before the show. It was so loud I was nauseous! I had to back away to save myself. Massive speakers were at ground level it was insane.
I was at the show in Dayton Ohio at the O'Hara Arena in 1986. The turbo tour. Great show Dokken opened up for them. I also seen them in 83 on the screaming for vengeance tour . Iron Maiden was the opening act. It was a great show . Priest is one of my favorite bands of all time. Favorite band to see live. Rock on and God bless all
fun fact: not a single car in this video actually had a turbo in it. i remember the day this album was released, i was waiting for it at my local record store. i immediately went to my best friend's house, where we sparked one up, and played this album wide open
So what about bi-turbo (not twin turbo), one with fresh air and one before the exhaust (which one for low rotation speed? and the other for high rotation speed), or would this rather match for bigger engines, for more then big blocks? I read in japan they still mostly have manual transmission (which would be less complicated in the overview). (I don't claim to have experience with this but i think i gathered enough knowledge to see advantages or benefits of bi-turbo, perhaps also for gas engines or other systems)
@@oldskooldivergent2553 All i can/would say is that in the "U.S." fuel is held cheap (the other countries are kinda forced to pay that) so american mechanics have less complicated jobs fixing big blocks with or without (super)chargers, not having to deal with turbos, a turbo is more efficient but more "buggy" then a charger when technical issues occur. So a muscle car with a turbo would (have been) cool (as the way to develop), but this might still be seldom or exotic (like an american recognizing benefits of the metric system's easier logic).
@@oldskooldivergent2553 no. there was only one model of firebird that had a factory turbo, and it was a dog. reliability issues and smog stuff meant that they were not that fast, and often had problems
@@Simon_Jakle__almost_real_name we had the grand national, back in the mid 80's. that was a turbo v6 and it was fast for it's day. faster than the vette of the same year. it was essentially a buick regal, of all things. if you had one, you could buy an aftermarket chip, swap in a better exhaust, for about a $1000. that alone brought you down from mid 13s in the quarter, to high 10s or low 11s. my brother in law did it, that's how i know about it. at the same time, it was tame enough my sister could take it to the grocery store. it was a cool car, except that the grand national logo they stiched into the seats looked like the logo for jiffy lube. 😆
I didn’t know all movies, and was curious, so here is the list of the movies that appear in the video (not in order): Death Proof: the scenes with Rose McGowan and Kurt Russell (the blonde woman in the thumbnail) Once upon a time in Hollywood: the scenes with Brad Pitt and Margaret Qualley, and the scenes with Margot Robbie Smokey and the Bandit: the scenes with Burt Reynolds and Sally Fields Pulp Fiction: the scenes with Uma Thurman Brewster McCloud: the scenes with Shelley Duval Career Opportunities: the scenes with Jennifer Connelly and Frank Whaley
I have a car that the speedo maxes out at 160 mph and I work nights. In the morning when I'm headed home is hard not to do 100. When I see 60 is a big deal, in these old films, I'm like, man if you just teleported to my time? You'd shit bricks.
I remember when this came out back in the day and I listened to it I told my friend that this dude is Gay, and he got into a fist fight with me for calling him gay back then 😂
I love this song but I never heard Rob say it was about his lover? I read his first book (Autobiography) but haven’t read second book on being in a band. Did you read it or hear him say that? Love him, thanks. 🩵🤘🏼🎙️🎵🎶🎸🕯️
