Brother, I've just recovered from covid, and on my last day in quarantine I'm learning how to play CORRECTLY that riff #3! and other details guess I had wrong for years. Thank you so much for this kind of videos you just made my day. I'm ready to rock out once again! You got a new follower; greetings from TN and all the Rednexicans out here lol 🤙🏻
This bassline is crazy heavy and dark, can’t believe this stuff is from the 70s. Lyrics are perfect for the time, if not even more fitting now. Awesome tutorial, thanks man!
I just finished playing it through! Thank you so much for the awesome tutorial man, I appreciate it. The video was very well structured and helped me loads!
I haven't played this song in a while, this was great! I think I played a couple small things differently. I'll definitely try to follow your tab, it's most likely more accurate since I'm a noob and it sounds great regardless. Top notch content as always!
Man, you exude what a rocker is and should be, world without end, Amen! 😆 As a noob trying to elevate my game, I Suspect this should be obvious and that I will get teased about it but I have to ask Q: What is it that you are listening to in the headphones? Is it a simple metronome, the original song, a drum beat, etc? Do you practice a lot with the headphones on? Oh, and what kind of strings are you using here? Thanks again for the lesson! There are a lot of bass tutorials on RU-vid but I suspect your viewership will rise steadily!
Really glad that you dig the video 🙏 As for the headphones, I’m listening to my bass signal for the lesson, and my bass + the song for the play through. This is so the mic which is recording my voice doesn’t pick up my bass signal. Keeping my voice and bass on separate audio channels makes it easier to edit the videos. And for the strings, I use Black Harbor Sound roundwounds (55 - 115) 🤜🤛🤘
Man.... thank for this. I managed to get all the riff's down and its the first time I have ever used this tuning and I'm digging it!! One big problem.....I'm stuck on RIFF#3 ... Sometimes i think i have it but I'm pretty sure I dont. Struggling hard to get clear notes and to get the groove of it....I'm pretty sure i;m not doing it right.... any tips? I'll keep at it and try slowing down the video.
Here’s a few things to try: listen to the riff until you are able to hum it while you are brushing your teeth in the morning, check your picking hand to make sure you play it the same way every time, then check your picking hand again :)
I love this song! Some things I would love to see in the future are: Death’s Door by Uncle Acid (my favourite song atm so it would mean a lot if you did this) Sudden End by Earthless Rat Race by Fuzz Aquamaria by Colour Haze Keep on rockin’! 🤘🏻
Hey, good job! I really learn a lot from you breaking the song down riff by riff. I'm getting into Black Sabbath with my band and gotta check out what you've got already done. Glad i found you and just subscribed to your channel.
The way you break shit down works so well for my simple ass brain! Thanks man keep ‘em coming! Do you get down to or think you can make a Hazemaze green river one! That riff is to fucking good!
I just had an awesome idea! How about if you start having bass players from awesome doom bands as guests on your channel and interview them? Talk about their influences, their gear, technique, their creative prcoess, etc. Whatdaya think? Anybody else out there like that idea?
How do you get your strings to be so pliable?....i can see how loose they are by the minimal effort in bending on the upper frets....mine are tight as f#@k and really hard to bend....makes alot of the sabbath songs hard to play.....i should add,...i buy the heaviest strings available. But still i can see your strings are like rubber bands.
In this vid, the bass is set up for C Standard with 55-115 strings and are as thick as I would go for this setup. I had blisters after recording the playthrough in order to get those bends🤘
