Did you notice the look from Dio , no vocal effects , he never needed any anyway . Such a great singer and song writer . . . He is missed , but not forgotten . . .
So glad they had this second career, Iommi and Butler look like they are having the time of their lives, It's one thing to be successful once but to do it again with a new singer is incredible.
RJD was a breath of fresh air to the band & they created a couple albums that will surely stand the test of time.

Damn, that unmatched epic feeling created from the combination of Dio's vocals and Iommi's riffs. I have always thought that this song is in a way the father of Power Metal.
@@luamoliveira3467 It seems what Francisco was alluding to is that Ian Gillan was the voice of "Jesus Christ" in the original Jesus Christ Superstar version. Dio didn't sing the voice of Jesus.
Met Ronnie in the early 80s with Rainbow.... What a nice decent humble guy he was. We talked for awhile then he signed the Sabbath H&H album and an Elf album I had. I still have those albums!!
I was at this show at Madison Square Garden. I was blow away. I saw Sabbath with Ozzy. But this was the best Sabbath show I ever saw. Dio Rocked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@@rudyblozen3266 I must be thinking of the Mob Rules show that is on RU-vid. I just remember RJD saying something like "greatest city in the world, and parts east". Unfortunately, I was too young to see either of those tours, but I LUV RJD-era Sabbath. Cheers!
back in the 80's I met DIO at the Phoenix night club in El Paso Tx ,as I pull up in the parking lot a friend runs up to my car and says to me Ronnie James Dio is inside I said your drunk lol !! so me and my girlfriend go inside.so I see him and he's facing the bar and i tap him on his shoulder and he turned around and his bodyguard said get back and Ronnie says to him they're with me......awesome time R.I.P Ronnie James Dio
😂😂😂 You told your friend they were drunk? 😂😂😂 I probably would have thought the same thing... It's always been said how good Ronnie was to his fans. Cool story...👍🎸🎶
Saw them on this tour in St. Louis, MO. In between songs when the crowd was relatively quiet I yelled down toward the stage from 3rd level seating as loud as I could with a ♪ Yeaaaa ... aaaaaah ♪ and Ronnie responded back with ♪ You singgggg it !!! ♪. Everybody around me started patting me on the back and shit. It was too cool.
Those Memories last forever. Same general idea between me and Jack Blades of Night Ranger. I made NR poster our of a bed sheet. I threw it up on stage and Jack wrapped it around him like a cape and sang a song with it on. EPIC!
+Ле Ґранде yea, instead hey produced the greatest painters, philosophers, composers, designers...and Ronnie James Dio is a Metal God so stuff it Rusky Putin Pie
This song is a timeless head-banger. I love to blast this song going over the I80 pass clocking over 120 and trying to accelerate even more! Long live Sabbath, long live RJD!! \M/
The best lyricist hands down...He writing was like no other...one of a kind...May he rest in eternal peace...gone but never forgotten...his music will live on forever 🤘
Ronnie, stunningly amazing, as usual. fairly early in the career here. wow. even WITH this somewhat, untreated board mix of sorts ( where's the 'wetness and bit of verb, he deserves? jeez.....) but....still Killin' it. like when he throws the broken mic at the beginning, doesn't phase him. just grabs the next one available, and proceeds to...."let every one know, who's Friggin' boss here". wow. R.i>P Ronnie
I was at this show with my two best friends. My father drove us from Jersey into Midtown. i had the distinct pleasure of seeing Sabbath in West Palm this summer with one of those friends -- and we brought along his daughters to pass the torch. It was awesome.

DIO WAS ONE OF THE GREATEST LEAD MEAN N VERY THEATRICAL WITH HIS DELIVERY ON STAGE. HE WAS DEFINETLY GRACIOUS TO ALL THE FANS N WILL FOREVER B MISSED. MY FAVORITE OF ALL TIME. SAW HIM MULTIPLE TIMES WITH SABBATH, HIS OWN BAND, AND WITH HEAVEN N HELL. REST IN PEACE N LONG LIVE DIO N ROCK N ROLL!!!!🙏🙏✌✌✌✌✌LISTEN TO "STARGAZER" EXCELLENT SONG IN HIS LONG PORTFOLIO OF TUNES

RITE THING TO DO WHO GRACED US AS FANS WITH SO MUCH RESPECT N GREAT MUSIC!!🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 THEY TELL U BLACK IS REALLT WHITE THE MOON IS JUST THE SUN AT NIGHT, AND WHEN U WALK IN GOLDEN HALLS U GET TO KEEP THE GOLD THAT GOLD THAT FALLS, ITS HEAVEN N HELL!!! IS THAT WRITING OR WHAT
I'm pretty sure that the Neon Nights guitar solo from the record was played by a studio musician. I don't think Iomi was capable of that at any point in his career He was the riff master, no question and the heart of the music of Sabbath but he was never the most dexterous of guitar players with the soloing.
Dio commanding the stage. Growling a lot, rather than that pure voice we all loved. Vinnie is sharp on drums, lots of fills here and there. Tony is superb as ever, and Geezers a lunatic! Rest In Peace Ronnie.
mis respeto a dio el vocalista mas grande que a tenido el heavy metal lo e admirado desde mis doce año y tengo cuarenta y siete... larga vida a ronnie dio
Boy was I in rough shape after this concert One of the greatest shows I have attended The black and blue tour is burned into my memory forever those were the glory days of rock ‘n’ roll and heavy-metal. Rest in peace Ronnie
Yes he did, and don't let anyone tell you different. I always hear the old "Jimmy Page made metal" or Hendrix or Richie Blackmore. All great in their own right, but the Fathers of Heavy Metal are Black Sabbath. Tony being the patriarch. Their debut album is, to this day, the first true metal album released. No questions about it.
Vinny Appice with short hair looks a dead ringer for Quentin Tarantino in this vid. Cracking performance of a great song. Look how Tony and Geezer move in synch, whilst Ronnie James Dio owns the stage.
+ Mark Bentley. Vinnie's brother Carmine , lots of people are not aware that John Bonham was influenced by him , Bonham modeled himself after Carmine . So you are looking at Carmine and John Bonham there so to speak
Graças ao Dio que o Sabath não acabou. Ele foi crucial na continuação da banda quando ela mais precisava de alguém forte, firme em suas posições e principalmente no profissionalismo que sempre foi a marca registrada de Ronnie James Dio.
Always amazed by Tony Iommi's economy of motion when he plays. Take a look at people playing covers of this song, and they're all over the fretboard. I know why he plays like this - I'm just amazed more people don't do the same.
It takes discipline to develop the control for that economy. Most will not invest the time. Most guitarists that I've played with don't even think about economy of motion.
3:27 first lyric blackout I've ever seen by Ronnie in any YT vid. He caught it and covered well by singing "to legions of the brave" but that's the wrong phrase. Should have been "protectors of the realm".
@@Marchosias_Rex I only noticed because I was working on trying to do a vocal cover of this in the future and I knew the words. I never had any Black Sabbath albums so I just wasn't familiar with all the words till lately. Kind of an off night for Dio here but it happens.
Did RJD write the lyrics? Probably. If so, he can take some liberty with the lyrics just like Iommi does with playing this song - he kinda jams out and expands the song.
+Neon Knight Vocally Dio is superior to Joey Belladonna, but musicianship wise. Black Sabbath doesn't come close to Anthrax... Except for Geezer of course. Tonni is way over rated... And none of Black Sabbaths drummers through the years can play like Charlie Benante.
This is the Video that turned me on to Sabbath 3 years ago... Also inspired me to get a guitar. Now i play most sabbath tunes, and my soloing is 90% inspired by iommi! Thanks Sabbath for being the Light in my Life!! 🤘🤘
So glad I grew up in the 80's and seen all the great groups..sabbath..Dio..Maiden..Priest..Ozzy... with all these bad asses..Tony..Vivian..Randy..Brad G..and the drummers like vinny....
Actually Bill Ward was on this tour early on. I saw that part of the tour and my friend met Bill Ward who was not taking care of himself unfortunately. He had to leave for health reasons. Just ran out of steam, put it that way.
I love Sabbath..this tune give me goosebump from a to z..and gosh they probably took very good médicine before going on stage...their enthusiasm is contagious
Oh no, here it comes again Can't remember when we came so close to love before Hold on, good things never last Nothing's in the past, it always seems to come again Again and again, again and again, again Cry out, to legions of the brave Time again to save us from the jackals of the street Ride out, protectors of the realm Captain's at the helm, sail across the sea of lights Circles and rings, dragons and kings Weaving a charm and a spell Blessed by the night, holy and bright Called by the toll of the bell Bloodied angels fast descending Moving on a never-bending light Phantom figures free forever Out of shadows, shining ever-bright Neon Knights Neon Knights All right Cry out, to legions of the brave Time again to save us from the jackals of the street Ride out, protectors of the realm Captain's at the helm, sail across the sea of lights Again and again, again and again and again Neon Knights Neon Knights Neon Knights All right
Thanks! Saw the July 3rd gig in Lubbock,TX and it was epic. Great show -- big roughnecks were fighting right in front of Geezer, then Tony for the whole show
A guitar god is someone like: Hendrix, Clapton, Jimmy page, Ritchie Blackmore and Tony Iommi certainly. Playing fast doesn't makes a good guitarist. You can play fast but without feeling. Like Steve Vai and Malmsteen for instance.
I like how much grit Ronnie has in his voice for this version (It’s a different twist from the studio release and I like those too) but it adds a cool emphasis to the lyrics.
Iommi's playing got even better here on 'Heaven & Hell.' My goodness. He went from depression and nearly accepting defeat after his injury to now dawn near shredding. Tony Iommi will always be one of my favorite guitarists because he is the living proof and truth that is "Never Say Die."
Esta version de Neon Nights encarna la grandeza de Ronnie DIO.....Que voz!.....que manera de comandar sobre el escenario. Tanta fuerza y personalidad en un cuerpo tan pequeño....😁....Gracias Ronnie.
Iommi called the riff master, his lead work is so underated. When Dio joined their sound changed to suit Ronnie perfectly. More articulate & not as can i say sloppy. Vinnies drums were great too. They wanted Carmine Appice. Glad they got Vinny. 🤘🤘🤘
Whenever you watch documentaries about the early days of Hard Rock and Metal, Jimmy Page is always brought up as the master if the riff. For my money, Iommi is way up there as well.
