Unicorn Spit is dangerously addictive in the BEST way possible !!! Now we add Shou Sugi Ban to the mix !!!! I'm mainlining this stuff. "Huffin me" ;) some charred wood ****** (I'm KIDDING )******* and dancing in the wonderful kaleidoscope of colors that play before my eyes thanks to its creator, Michelle Nicole ( Unicorn Spit ) Just did my very 1st burn the other day !! The scrap pile is no longer scraps, thanks in part to your videos. Very entertaining and helpful I just have 1 question....... What's REALLY in your mug ;) I want some Lol

Love your results. I liked the Atlantis and the Hephaestus versions best. Was it a foam brush you were applying the metallic with? I would be interested to see a version with the SPARKLiNG STAiN (although it's not recommended to apply the Sparkling with a foam brush). Thanks for explaining the importance of an oil based sealer.

Hey Laurie! I normally don't apply it with a foam brush, but I wanted the rigidity of the foam to get the dry brush effect. Cheers!

@@BuildDadBuild Makers 46 will ruin regular Makers the same way. Also, I've found that if you use water based wood dye on deeper greens, letting it dry for 72 hours and using polycrilic instead of lacquer doesn't wash out the green or make the black lines of the charred grain seem to bleed out.

They tried to give me a 30 minute ad in the middle. I stick around for the normal ones. That way you get your $0.0004 worth. But not a 30 minute one. Cool effect on the project. Cheers!!!

will you paint a sugi ban with three colors like flame, yellow orange and red and black. I want rainbow sugi and try to use one color in 4 different shades painted on in layers.

For me it's definately the plain black. Love the clean look of it. Question for you, do you have any experience with minwax wood hardener and how does it compare to the total boat penetrating epoxy?

Ok, Nick I bought some unicorn spit metallic dye, but they don’t look like your bottles and aren’t the same colors, so can I ask you where you get your metallic stain at. I’m really into shou sugi , and dyes, so I love the look you got, just can’t find the right unicorn metallics. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Those bottles only look different because that was like the first run of them. They were experimental when they sent them to me so there could be some variances. The bottles you received should be the new ones! Cheers!

Mate, where’d you get the bad ass flame thrower guns? No shooters here in the UK, which is probably for the best! (at least down my street😬) But a man has to get his Clint Eastwood on somehow right? I thought I’d hit the jackpot with my Bosch weed killer (shaped like a gun of coarse) but 'these' little baby's meet all my needs! the primary of which is? that my neighbour is going to shit her pants when I roll up on her toting the 'Kray Twins' (which is what I’ll name them) (and say 'You want me to Shou Sugi Ban ya back door for ya Shirley?'😎 I’m joking of coarse😆 But seriously...where did you get them from?????🤔 All the best geezer! and thanks for a great video😉

Hi Nick what are you mixing the keda dye with? Alcohol (not whiskey) or water? Also approximate mixture ratio?

I just mix it with water. About a 1/2 tsp per 1/2 cup of warm water. Cheers

Is it safe to burn pressure treated pine to try this technique?

Hey Siddharta! I would not recommend burning pressure treated pine. Burning it releases those harmful chemicals out into the air. If you decide to do it anyway, please wear a respirator and be cautious of your surroundings, including pets. Cheers

Question about the burners\gas here. About a year ago ive purchased weed burned (similar to what Nik have). But my issue is, for some reason even with valve on the tank on "full open" mode and the valve on the weed burner itself is also fully open.... I get a big slow yellow fire bowl. What i deff DONT get is the blue colored "jet" stream of fire which make that fizzle\shhhwhwhhhhhhhsshhsshs sound. From my basic understanding of physics and the way propane suppose to burn (mixing with oxygen). I`d say the issues is "too much butane outflow\slow pressure". Seems like it. However, when i try the combos like "burner" valve almost closed.... gas tank valve full open (and visa versa) - it gives me F finger. I.e. nothing changed. Do i have broken weed torch? Do we have "low pressure" gas tanks here (im not sure if its even possible in theory). Can anyone share some similar experience?

Question do you burn before you build or after you build?

Depends on the project. If I'm not going to have a lot of tight inside angles I'll build before I burn. If the opposite is true I'll burn, then build. Cheers

Anyone have a Pit Boss Classic grill? I'm trying to find a stain that's closes to the grills cooper/dark orange/bronze color. So far I narrowed it down to Unicorn Bronze or the Athena cooper color.
