A test of a Single ended Tube amp with 6L6 power tube… played with a Strat and a LP (tone samples) and Direct in recorded using Black Stars emulated out...real sound via camera (Canon EOS) and direct into PC via Tascam USB Interface
I'm thinking about getting an Artist 10 used. I actually want the Artist 15, but they're hard to find used. 30 is too loud. 10 might be good enough, but I can't decide... just a couple of weeks ago I sold my HT 20 Studio and bought the HT-5R mkII used. But I don't need the second channel, just the one to push with my pedalboard. So the Artist 15 would be perfect, or Artist 10 could be good enough. Decisions about nothing very important... 😄
agree..nothing important ....once it is a 6L6 which has enough headroom, fully cranked clean with a little gain....boost, TS, fuzz, compressor from your board upfront ...and let the stratocastic bells ring ..If you are a giggin player i understand....( My HT 5 was also weak i boosted the effect loop with a clean booster ( Dunlop preamp) and had an greenback (heritage 12H55 /15 Ohm.).in it...pretty decent) the 5 Watter appears to be much louder with Extension Cab ( 16+16) 8.....or one can use a Palmer PD03 JB and got into the PA ( Ht5 as Monitor) ...lots of options...i love El 84 into Jensen P10 R ( ofcourse fully cranked) 1 SM57 and 1 Kondenser Mic... The Blackstar EM out ( 2' diff cabs) ..allows always to run a cab sym ( IR ) directly and use a PA or Poweramp, or into a Cab Simulator into PA or silent recording into the USB modem and PC...but thats all not for one play gigs, little to carry and cut thru the Mix..😄😅
Nice playing, picked up a Second hand Blackstar 10ae recently so clad I did. great amp to play in the home studio and small gigs. So much better response than my other Blackstar amps HT and Stage.
Agree with the Anniversary or Artist series all 3 ..6l6 , El34, Kt 88 are the best amps for the buck myself at least bumped in..the emulated out on 4x 12 allows literally noiseless recording at your finger tips..i heard newer Mk 2 s have Usb..but i prefer em out into Audio Interface so far! Great playing, questionable, it is a 10 Watt single ended 6L6 amp...sounds great as it is and very useful for DI ( emulated out)...speaker could be better, but where to begin and where to end! Many thanks for your comment!
