I really love that a lot of the DLC weapons have unique charge attacks or guard counters. I wish that the base game weapons had more of that, like Marais Executioner's Sword could REALLY use that. Edit: I was more meaning unique effects like the guard counter having a shockwave that can be infused with holy, or how the smith script weapons get thrown with heavy attacks, stuff that makes it more unique then which angle or speed the attack comes in at.
@@ultimaabyssal2484 I believe he means have the executioner's sword float around with its entire moveset rather than just the L2. Kinda like how the boss fights you instead of just being an average greatsword.
@@henrystonefist2341 I think it should have had a stance Ash of War. Elden Ring really got a lot of weapons which could use a stance Ash of War like DS 3 ringed knight weapons had
Pretty much every weapon I fought was greatsword level or higher. Sadly the actual guard of the weapon is pretty dogshit so I'm not sure when I was actually supposed to lol
He consistently uses weapons incorrectly then tells people they’re bad, he done the same with the Rot Halberd and Steelovsky corrected him in a recent video. This weapon with the deflecting hard tear is absolutely amazing for pvp. Edit* when using the weapon for guard counters like this, you’re best off using sacred.
@@ScottJund Try the deflect tear! It raises your guard extremely high when blocking at just the right time (a relatively easy thing to do) and makes the following guard counter do substantially more damage. Tested and approved.
You should just have a stun hitbox similar to warcry R2s so that guard counters are guaranteed or at least roll-catches for colossals otherwise you're never landing one.
I went back to the base game and killed malenia with this weapon + sekiro tear. Took a bit to get the timing down for waterfowl but it was fun as heck.
So glad you're making Elden Ring pvp stuff. You're the only one that isn't toxic and annoying in my opinion. And when you invade you don't run away all the time
i like to use it with flaming strike, if people get caught by the guardcounter, they most likely will panic roll and there's where flaming strike shines, it basicaly makes a 4 hit pseudo-combo.
I’ve learned that when dealing with blink bolt, if you swing when you see the start up, they end up just diving directly into the attack. With Messmer’s spear(Projectile heavy my beloved) AOW on reaction to the startup hits them out with the stunning swing and then combos into flames.
12:03 I thought that's a Lich King cosplay trying to re-animate Sindragosa. Don't know what's up with the fire serpents and the great katana though. Blade of darkness and some frost spell sounds more fitting.
I love this weapon. I have 80 fth and 80 str with two handing, so I basically change it back and forth from heavy to sacred whenever I feel like it. Sacred with sword of light and a tear makes some mean mf damage, but whenever I’m bored of buffing I can use heavy. Only issue is range, but the best things come in small packages amirite. The thickness is on point anyways tho 🤤
Shield talisman boosts weapon blocking, carian straight sword can block not colossal greatswords r1s, curved greatswords r2s, dual naginata, l1s and dual ss l1s. Granted thats with the unique r2 of the carian ss but i dont think that boosts guard at all. 2h definitley does boist stabikity as well And yes you can neutrsl jump the blinkbolt and if they go for the follow up spin, a neutral jump attavk will oand and interupt them
I don't know what you mean. He wanted guard counters, you have yo Blick to do that, he was worried about getting his guard broken so ge didn't even bother becuade he didn't use a shield. My point was saying that the stability is better than he thinks with the shield ring that he can block most things actually. He has better stability with a great hammer than my straightforward. At least he likely has more poise here than I did in my example so he could poise through attacks or at least clip them which will still deliver the full hitbox
This video should have been called Blacksteel greathammer+blacksteel greatshield. Then you could try to properly use its niche as ultimate trading tool. I tried that, with shield bash and its really funny. You alternate between blocking+guard countering and shield bashing as trade, after few tries enemies stop being aggressive at all and thats the time when you switch to your favorite chasedown weapon :D
This fucker here carried my whole dlc run, it's nice to see it in pvp. I wonder why you didn't run the deflect tear if you wanted to guard counter? It's still slow but you could try punishing a jump attack or something.
So that was fun, it worked fairly well. I added storm stomp to it in place of Cragblade (I know, I know) and just buffed with drawstring holy grease instead. Because of that I didn’t even end up needing the dagger that much since SS already worked great as a “get off my nuts” tool, especially since it seems to true combo into a greathammer R1. I still got some use out of the dagger though just to mix up timings and sneak hits in when fighting slower weapons. I also only had 54 strength, and while the damage was honestly still surprisingly decent, my AR unbuffed was only 746. Obviously much, much lower than what you got with effectively 99 strength. Because of that I’ll say that one-handing it definitely isn’t that great for SL 125. If you take the build to 150 and get 80 strength, the offhand setup should work really well. Fun weapon! You were definitely right about the range though, dear god.
The hammer was fun in pve but there were so many occasions I was just a hair away from hitting something when with other weapons in it's class I'd know I would hit. Still a fun weapon.
Is there any way to make perfumes good? Been trying it and all I ever found success with was spamming the heavy backstep attack against aggressive players
best bet is to wait for a patch, there's a lot of new toys in the dlc that are clearly not polished. usually in games id try to make bad stuff work by finding inquire advantages in them, but this dlc is clearly just a case of rushed new weapons and spells. you'll notice most things are either extremely op or just a joke, likely didn't have time when making the dlc to ensure they work correctly, but they've fixed things in base eldenring so there's no reason to think they won't do so this time too
8:50 I KNEW I WASN’T THE ONLY ONE WHO NOTICED, the moment this torch becomes more popular the PVP scene will have more to worry about that a Vyke’s spear.
I feel like everyone misreads the item description it doesn't get bonus damage from sacred infusion its get a big scaling bonus from elemental infusions. Like putting the flame art infusion buffs the faith scaling from B to A it can some pretty crazy ar with the drawback of multiple elements on it.
It's now much harder for great weapons to hyperarmor through each other in 1.12. There's a reddit post showing the numbers you can find with google. In 1.10 they could infinite trade into each other it was kind of stupid.
12:34 lmfao I swear soulsborne elitists will call anything they don't like "cheese".. ooor it's just a good strategy.. lmfao it can literally be used to call your strategy "cheese" by using throwing pots if they play defensive and then you use your hammer if they play offensive..
In a game like elden ring there are alot of cheesy ways to kill people in pvp. Using a projectile when someone's playing passive against a weapon that already has trouble hitting people is not the same as dominating the entire arena with 2 spells that were barely balanced for pvp in the first place. This is all coming from somebody who hates playing pvp more than anything in elden ring!
