Let's just say, "Black Swan gazed into the Abyss, and the Abyss stared back" But I'd say the Abyss did something more than stare back.... Literally hunting into ripping and tearing, like a predator feasting lavishly on its prey. I hope you noticed during the start of that... Nightmare... At the back while Acheron and Black Swan are "dancing", a representation is shown of a Serpent and a Swan, coiling around biting it's head for the kill, as for the outcome its shown as a featherless and some parts skeletal Swan.

People got so distracted by yuri and how scary Acheron is that they didn't realize we've got a huge lore drop, and it's basically confirmed by this trailer that Acheron is the Emanator of IX.

This was the moment that Black Swan knew that Acheron was the Dominant one.

Black Swan wanted to see Acheron's memories and find answers, but what she didn't expect is that she met not Acheron but that white and red Acheron. You can see this the moment she looks into her head, in Duke Inferno's Monocle Acheron has red eyes and white hair. So whats on the outside we see the calm goofy Acheron who doesn't know direction, but on the inside is some kind of a monster that even a Guardien of Recollect fears and dare not to look into anymore. Acheron not remembering things and saying "oh those guys" probably suggests that she doesn't remember what she did while in her red and white form and just knows that "yeah I did that probably". You can also see that Acheron didn't even care about Black Swan throughout the whole dance, and even after all that terror, she still didn't care. From the game Acheron only said that "some lady in veil invited me to a dance". Which I think is strange because how can a person not care about someone looking into their memories, even after Black Swan got DEVOURED by Acheron, she only said "Who are those guys??". But that answer was only a respond to Black Swans question "What did you do?", So what I think is that even though Black Swan was trying to escape and survive White Acheron, Blue Acheron was just dancing and not caring about anything. She probably even thought "Why is this lady so sweaty and out of breath, was the dance that hard?"

Now, this is worth dying for. What a masterpiece. Kudos to the illustrators, animators, colourists, musicians and seiyuus involved.

Fun thing to note. At the end of the dance, Black Swan has gone completely limp. Meaning that, even though she survived, and seemingly got away from Acheron's mind, the only reason that she hasn't collapsed is because Acheron STILL has a grip on her. So even though Black Swan gave absolutely everything that she had, just to get away from Acheron and survive, she actually failed. Since Acheron still hunted her down and caught her, even out of the mind scape. Which only makes Black Swan's terror at the end even more valid, since a character that was introduced to seem almost untouchable, literally couldn't even get away from Acheron, without Acheron just letting her.

Nah, It went from a flirty dance to a traumatizing dance, Acheron is just as insane as how Mina went feral 😂 definitely Sesbian Lex

i like how it slowly went from the hunter becomes the hunted, a prey dancing on its predator's hand, pure natural predation, and then finished with total annihilation. Black Swan should've just asked her for casual dance instead of peeking in.

If theories are correct, Acheron is the emanator of Nihility, but those who have seen Nihility are called Self-Annihilators. They lose meaning of existence, which is why they seem emotionless. However, they are also damaged. Some have skin turn into something like rotten wood, others become numb and can't feel pain or pleasure. And Acheron? She loses her memories. Black swan can't look into Acheron's memories, because they are litterally too damaged, or just non existant. Black Swan is also a memokeeper, her physical form is just what she makes you see her as. Those who just gaze at IX lose themselves, what do you think happens to someone who isn't even a physical entity? Black Swan would be erased if she looked into the actual Nihility Aeon, but since it's only Acheron, an eminator, she was spared
