"their Arcana effect is regarded as Wind Shear, Bleed, Burn and Shock effects." seems like this means characters such as serval and hook for example will benefit from their bonus damage against enemies with shock/burn respectively
@@Kspice9000yep, both Kafka and Guinaifen can detonate her arcana DoTs while the ultimate effect is going, which means some people will use that trio to melt the enemies in one wombo combo (Luka can detonate too, but its single target, harder to use) plus this Epiphany state effect could allow characters like Serval and Hook to take that ride for their own talent... in fact, need to test if Serval's ultimate can extend Arcana stack duration before it reset while "Epiphany" is active, since it extend any shock DoTs by 2 turns
Black Swan Ult extra dmg could apply to follow ups as well such as Clara or Blade. If a boss hits Clara during its turn, and Clara fua, it would still be considered the boss' turn.
I think the easiest way to describe epiphany stacks, is it works like the curio that acts as 1 of each path blessing. You dont have the blessings, but you have placebos of them.
4 stars can also proc arcana because it's considered burn/breed/shock/wind shear btw for example Guinaifen ult proc burn damage, E4 Sampo can proc windsheer damage, Luka can proc breed with his enhanced auto attack So in theory you can proc arcana 3 times in the row with 3 of the 4 stars i mentioned
Imagine the 4 star SW lightcone that gives 8 energy when you attack def shred enemy, that might make it good so that you don't need tingyun with her but we lose DOT% from Sampo lightcone and def shred from her signature LC. This character is really versatile and kafka with black swan, never thought we get a DOT meta. Honestly, can't wait for the next guide video smack 😊
@@XLbuffLivewhat actually a lot of people are missing is that... SW 4* LC will be really good on ERR + Wind set+ vonwaq 160 spd kafka for subdps detonation and then making Black Swan just a pure DPS.
Hey Smack, hope you're doing well. Said it in your last Black Swan (BS) video but I think you're interpreting BS' ult a bit wrong... Specifically I think you're interpreting how "Epiphany" works wrong, with relation to how it works with the DoT Relic set. As it says, "Enemies affected by Epiphany... Arcana effect is *regarded* as Wind Shear, Bleed, Burn and Shock" which means it should still act as one DoT for the purpose of the Relic Set but is now multifaceted in function. For example, Sampo is able to stack Wind Shear up to 5 times but his DoT is *one* DoT so the Relic Set will only count it as one... I 99% think this is the case here. So everything else you said works (like her doing a basic attack and it putting 5 Arcana stacks on the enemies head, if they are affected with Epiphany) OR in other cooler cases, this allows other DoT units like Luka or Gui to *blow up* Arcana stacks for a % of the damage since it's *regarded* as Bleed/Burn etc... But yeah ultimately we'll see 100% on release but wanted to just mention that. Appreciate you!
Idk about Tingyun... personally, like running her as a hyper carry, with or without a another 4 star dot character.... she would need to have a low enough energy threshold, to where Huohuo and Tingyun could manage to keep at least a somewhat respectable uptime on her ult. She's looking to be a true dot character, so idk how many extra turns is it going to take to kill the enemy. but, I'll wait on your guide. My personal belief tho, is that she really wants the retrigger. side note: I know you don't really like tutorial, but that can potentially help with the uptime on her ult
I don't think Epiphany will cause Arcana to act as 4 debuffs for the sake of debuff counts, I think it just means that it will fulfill any condition related to those debuffs, for example if something needs a burn buff to trigger, Arcana will work for that. Would be fucking cracked if I'm wrong though.
This is the case, actually. Just like wind shear from sampo is considered as 1 debuff despite having 5 stacks, pretty sure arcana is still considered as 1 debuff even when enhanced by epiphany. With her signature LC, we can only speculate until shes officially released
@@pinkinglily6447 Her LC states for each type of debuff so I think either way it fulfills the LC on its own, otherwise the LC would state something about the count but it only requires different types. Can't be certain but I'd be extremely surprised if Black Swan's ult didn't fully trigger her Epiphany. What it is that I think it won't work towards is say like Dr. Ratio who wants three debuffs, Epiphany would be several kinds of debuff but it's still just one named debuff so will only count as oke for it.

Seems like a crazy kit, had to be insane for hoyoverse to test her numbers lol. Can't wait for her release to see how people do with her and how she performs. Thanks for going over her kit some with us and giving you're input about it. Am still saving for Acheron though, 120 tickets so far! lol
Ayo, good luck on your Acheron pulls in the future. I'm currently saving for Black Swan and Acheron even though rn i just have 114 tickets (i could have 184 tickets by now but i made a mistake by pulling for Kafka's LC and got Clara's instead).
My only concern with Black Swan is how her Arcana works. If the target dies from a random DoT, do Arcana still trigger? If it works exactly the same as other DoTs, Arcana will be completely wasted. No adjacent damage, no extra Arcana stack for other enemies.
Yah, it works just like you think, because the talent said that the enemy gains Arcana stack for each DOT dmg they received in their turn THEN they'll receive all the Arcana stack dmg. So Arcana dmg always go last, if they died before the Arcana hit them, it will be wasted.

Her kit makes her potential to fit in any team and not just DoT team😍! Obviously if you already built a DoT team she will elevate the whole team thanks to her dbuffs but you can also bring her with any hyper dps character you have because she will give that def & res down on enemies which will make your dps character do more dmg🔥 that’s amazing!
I think the ult having “bleed, shock, wind shear and burn” is important because it means it can be retriggered by other characters like Luka’s enhanced basic attack
That's what that means, yes. If Arcana is at 10 Stacks and they have the Epiphany debuff on their head, Luka can SHORYUKEN them to blow up the Arcana DoT for a % of the damage, since it's now regarded as Bleed..! It's such a sick Ult for DoT units that aren't Kafka!
From what i remember her tech doesn't halves total chance, only base chance, but mb it just bad wording, cuz with enough ehr she can basically capout her arkana stacks
2.0 is rough for my F2P heart. Black Swan will make my Kafka team OP but I also skipped Fu Xuan and planned on saving for her rerun which should be soon. Throw Sparkle in the mix. I planned on skipping her but her kit is incredible. I have to stay strong and believe it's possible to get all three.
I look at Black Swan being paired with Kafka for like max difficulty SU / Gold & Gears / Etc. Things where you have high def & HP enemies where stacking multiple instances of defense shred is important AND where its one team. Having Black Swan and Kafka, imo, means you can fully enable TWO DoT teams for stuff like MoC or even Pure Fiction (probably less pure fiction but you never know...). And being able to run 2 DoT teams could be highly valuable. Either way, Black Swan feels like a unit every player can benefit from.
I'm thinking of skipping sparkle to get her. She seems cracked in swarm. Propagation bonuses smh yikes. My dot units arnt built all that much, the majority of dps besides Blade are follow atkrs. E2 Clara, Topaz and Jing Yuan. I have a e6 machine hand guy (bleed) e2 guienifine e0, e6 fire claw girl. So I have decent dot choices.
Ahh I’ve really wanted Black Swan since the 1.0 trailer but I don’t use any DoT characters… think I’ll have to skip 😢 she just wouldn’t do anywhere near the damage she’d be capable of
And it is the right decision, I love her design but I ain’t wasting all my jades just so she can be a 5 star pela when her potential is much bigger than that with the right team like kafka and rm which I don’t have or use.

So having Black Swan on the team, is like having the Aeon of Nihility IX from Simulated universe on the team. The only difference is, IX has four major blessings to give, while Black Swan depending on the level of investment, might have only one or two to offer us in battle?
I think he means it's the maximum to fully benefit from her bonus ability. She gets 60% of her effect hit rate as DMG capping at 72%, meaning you'd need 120% for 72% DMG
tingyun as a support with her is an interesting point but i just dont know if she'd be better than ruan mei, since most people will run kafka swan or swan with another dot then the support and a sustain (huohuo being the best) id like to hear what others think, because im not convinced she's better than ruan mei even outside of dual dot kafka swan
who should i use my guaranteed for guys? ive set my head on sparkle ,coz harmony is always good right? but the thing is i dont own DHIL and only have qq 75% built atm. ive read that sparkle doesnt give much to bladie and jingliu. correct me if that is wrong. plus i dont have kafka( i dont build any of the dot char). but BS looks pretty interesting.
If you don't have problems in skill point management then you don't really need Sparkle but these skill points provision allows your characters to spam their skill and gain energy so you can quickly use ult. Her crit dmg buff is single target but her skill point provision can be useful for duo DPS teams where you can spam skills. The 2.0 new boss locks away two of your characters so duo DPS is really a must because you don't want a solo DPS being locked away while all your remaining characters can't do anything.
I think you should take sparkle. BS can work without kafka but you already have blade. I suggest you need to focus on elemental coverage for picking DPS. Sparkle not only gives extra SP, she also gives buff Critical damage so still works with hyper carry units.
I still haven't decided if i will use her together with Kafka, Guinafen, and HuoHuo for more Dots or i will swap Gui with RM. I would love to see your suggestions everyone, Gacha Smack too ofc.
If you have Kafka's LC and equip it to Guin then she can also apply shock DoT from the LC. Just try to match the element so if you know if you need guin or kafka but Kafka's DoT trigger is really amazing.
Mei gives too much to DoT teams to not use her. Asta would probably be the next option so you can get Kafka or Swan to 160 speed for 3 actions per cycle. Plus the attack buff is nice and she can apply burn DoT on basics. Gui and Pela are fine options especially if you have the Resolution LC on them for extra defense shred.
I farned out 134% EHR and 141 speed with the S4 Sampo 4Star light cone and the Pan-Cosmic 2 piece... so ready for her!!! I can see a zero sustain team with Black Swan, Kafka, Tingyun and a third DoT unit based on the weakness of the floor. (Sampo, Gwen, Kuka... weirdly Himiko for break/burn)
I have to ask, just on a hypothetical level, but isn't that LC just BIS on Kafka too? Just like... in general the attack%+def ignore seems massive even for non-black swan duo dot comps.
Idk...besides Tingyun and Scooby Doo (or Shaggy to be more accurate xd), it seems like another DOT character is required for Black Swan. Her kit and even her LC is full of DOTs. If it had debuff instead of DOTs in the description, she would be a lot less niche. Oh well, DOT meta incoming.
Tingyun again? I see your bias. I still remember when you said that Tingyun would trample all over Bronya as Jingliu's support. While the extra energy will undoubtedly be good for better ultimate rotations, I don't think tingyun will let you run black swan as the only dot character. I feel like the main goal here is to reach 7 stacks and having Sampo or Kafka will let you reach that number more consistently. At that point, the question becomes whether Tingyun or Ruan Mei will bring the team more damage. If you're running dual DPS with a non dot, is black swan the one you want to be giving energy to, or will it be the other DPS? I could see a Swan Ratio team being interesting to try out, but again will you bring Tingyun to pump Swan's energy or will you bring Ruan Mei to enhance both?
Between Def shred, Arcana, Epiphany, Wind Shear and her LC/Skill def shred i think she’d make a crazy debuffer for either 4pc Diver or 4pc Prisoner Dr Ratio for people who dont have Silverwolf or Welt
IMO the Arcana mechanic feels like how Lightning Lord should have been designed. There’s many more ways to build stacks, even including basic attack and DoTs from other party mates, and there’s no dumb shit like getting suppressed by crowd control.
I forgot I had to win a 50/50 to get black swan since I got Ruan Mei. Guess Ill go for it and then try the light cone banner for some 4*. Also can get bronya with my 5* select or someone else if I lose the 50/50 to bronya? Gotta decide between eidolons or new character like himeko or clara
Her sig LC has an interesting feature in that it synergizes with her kit even if she's not the one wearing it. A different nihility unit can get the same effect if they hit a target after BS has ulted. Just a cool little feature. I wouldnt assume she gets the 3 stacks of prisoners set when she has epiphany up but the rest of the stuff I think is a safe bet. I think arcana will still only count as one dot/debuff but be 'tagged' as burn/bleed/shock/wind shear. If im wrong then BS is that much stronger and im certainly cool with that xD I'm curious to see if Clara's FU attack counts as "on the enemiy's turn" to see how much that modifier can be used outside of dots. She really has much more support potential at E1 when she gets access to resist pen. I think at E0 the def shred on her skill is nice but honestly Pela can maintain an even stronger def shred that hits all targets and costs no sp so she's not gonna be a Pela replacement unless you are looking for Wind damage in particular or want something with more personal damage than Pela. That being said theres nothing stopping you from running both. More of her kit is actually def ignore rather than def shred which only effects her damage not the rest of the party. All in all im interested in BS but I kind of see her as a unit I'd preferably want to get to E1S1 before I'd be really happy with the investment.
The trace that adds arcana on ally attacks actually referrs to DoT detonations not application. Kafka and Sampo's E4 can detonate Arcana without BS ult while Luka and Guin need need the ult. Arcana is regarded as wind shear all the time.
