I can't believe this case is still ongoing!!!! I guess I assumed she had been locked up! The thing I remember the most about this case is how awesome Doug's oldest child was. I hope she's still doing well! This will be an interesting trial!!

Seeing that innocent child on the courthouse steps with a sign saying “Set my mommy free” made me physically ill. That so called mother will rot in hell for that manipulation alone.

I wouldn’t call marrying a complete stranger I’ve only known less than a month a fairytale. That sounds like red flag city to me. To each their own when it comes to legal consenting adults whose bills I don’t pay. I can’t help but speculate if Ashley used Doug Benefield for a ballet studio and a baby. Once she obtained those two, she had no use for Doug anymore. Correct me I’m I am wrong, but IIRC I read that she shot him in the back. If someone isn’t even facing you how are they a threat? Shame that by the end of this trial both of Doug Benefield’s daughters will have most likely lost both their parents.

Battered woman syndrome???? If Ashley was so afraid of Doug, why did Alicia go to the park and leave Doug and Ashley alone?? If I was so deathly afraid of my husband or ex-husband, I certainly would not be alone with him and my mother would never have left us alone!! Nothing makes sense here!! It is just Ashley grasping at straws in order to explain the cold blooded murder of Doug?? And if Ashley was so distraught after the shooting, why was her lawyer there before the police arrived?? She did not want to speak to the 911 operator but did call her lawyer!

If a split is contentious, never ever ever meet your ex alone or be alone with your ex. Always meet in a public place and have an observer with you. They should've had cameras in the house. Only 2 people know the truth but the living one can say whatever they want.

If there is a tracker and video cameras they should have some info as to what she was doing. Somebody who lived there said in these comments there were two entrances but this is heresay. Idk.🤷‍♀️ Reading psychologist evaluation by the judge is interesting. I’m curious in knowing what is in that report. We will see! As most of the time in cases like these it’s the innocent children that suffer. So sad.

I lived in this community at the same time. It has two entrances. It also has had 3 murders in 5 years!!! Actually 5 if you include the murder suicide that was never publicized of a couple who had just moved. Crazy HOA Board too.

Very familiar witb this case can not believe she got bond ,nor is in jail...she point blank fired at her husband as he was near sleeping on couch. Getting divorced is not as unusual as you think while pregnant. Depends on the circumstances. I had one child already and when I was 3 months pregnant, my ex husband decided he didn't want a second child. I showed him the door. My daughter was born a month after my divorce was final.

So per Tommie, the older former Navy man she was scamming/engaged to was D.Beatty the man on her LLC called FromFifth in Sarasota. Is D.Beatty the REAL "baby daddy" of Emerson? I doubt it is Doug's child. We see the LLC was closed by D.Beatty a couple months after Doug's murder. Will D.Beatty show up as the Prosecutors witness???

I would love to see their text messages and the psychologist report. I have alot of females cousins. One said the dad touched the child inappropriately the judge didn't believe her of course because it wasn't true. Either way can be true but if the family judge didn't believe her its not looking good for her.
