I habe to believe him being in a jazz inspired hip hop band with live instruments has helped him perfect that ability. The original culture of true hip-hop doesn't care about how many albums you sell or awards you win...none of that mattered on the street corners where it was born. Lyrics and flow is what counts so there is no problem with putting Jay and Black Thought in the same sentence in my opinion. Now I knew of and heard of the ROOTS CREW from back in the day and I heard of and knew of BLACK THOUGHT from back in the day, I never really knew of what the ROOTS and BLACK THOUGHT could bring to the table besides that song "WHAT THEY DO" which was fire outside of that I really had no clue but after listening to that freestyle just now, it's official the ROOTS ain't nothing to fuck with....That brother Black Thought ate that microphone and blew it back out with lava and flames like a fire breathing Dragon going mad.....That's what I call a real Black Thought.
