Recently came across your videos and I love them. Interesting the depth of your knowledge and your passion shows through. I watch them before bed, there's a calming, artisan quality to the videos. You seem like a man who would be into cigars, cognac, watches with actual time complications and perfumes. I'd love to see a video of yours about one of these subjects. Maybe not cognac and cigars... RU-vid doesn't like those. But definitely watches!

Wonderful guide Prof. Iwill say the one exception to a short dinner jacket is the mess jacket, but that us a specific jacket that evolved from the tail jacket, so I say it is the exception that proves the rule

You failed to mention footwear. A man should wear black silk knee high socks. No colored socks. The shoes should be black oxfords in either pattern leather or a whole cut shoe with a high gloss shine. An alternative are opera pumps. There is also a question as to a watch. Some people do not think you should wear a watch with black tie. I think a watch is acceptable but it should be something very simple. No sports watches. As I said the watch should be simple with a black leather watch band and the metal should match the metal of your cufflinks.
Please share a video o your purple tuxedo we have seen in your shorts and let us know the features of it and why that check trouser? Also, your views on shawl lapel on tuxedo which we see these days.. as i myself own a tuxedo with shawl lapel, which is not a bespoke. Fyi.
So I actually must disagree with the never to wear a notch lapel tuxedo, I own one in fact. But wait, it gets worse the matching tuxedo trousers have belt loops on them. The thing is its a tuxedo from 1918, and it looks quite good. So never say never... But you probably shouldn't wear notch lapels😅.

I don't understand how you are the king of drape when none of the clothes really drape. they just hang and don't move with the body which is in essence the art of draping the muscles and limbs. I agree however mostly on the dinner jacket and the lapels. this is one case where the wider lapels are both stylish and classic. i would personally wear a slimmer lapel and a dinner suit that fitted my body better.
I love your channel I love what you do but I'd like to know why is it that you are the only model for the clothing line I'd like to see other sizes of models and how they can also in what you think would benefit them to look as sharp as you do or is your channel meant for men with your shape thank you and keep up the good work
Would you recommend a certain evening shirt with Black Tie? I am attending an event soon and wish to wear a marcella pique front shirt with a detachable wing collar derived from White Tie; would this be too formal for such an occasion?

@@avenotrius4340 It is seen as rude to the host as if you are at a nice formal event they invited you to, you shouldnt be checking the time as if you wished to leave.
@avenotrius4340 just tradition, traditionally you wouldn't wear any watch because you shouldn't be looking at time when you are enjoying your evening! Most traditionalists would argue to avoid any watch, and if you must wear a watch, keep it down to either a pocket watch of matching metals or either a minimalistic black leather dress watch.
Thanks for the additional info about etiquette. …But James Bond always wore a watch, an Omega Seamaster for the last circa 30 years, with his dinner suits. 😅. Whilst Sean Connery, wore a a Rolex Submariner. All the same, I know now to avoid a watch with a dinner suit (Unspoken Etiquette, known to “old money”, and high end professional bankers, financiers, lawyers and probably top brass military types of the old school).
