Black Widow Egg Sac

My black widow made an eggsac! I have to transfer it to a secure location so that the spiderlings, when they emerge in a few weeks, don't escape into my house.

I have the same "problem" with my resident S. triangulosa, and it's a huge relief to know that I can briefly use a normal container without asphyxiating them all.

Just chillin'. Black widows are the most laid back spiders I've worked with.

mr Myers, where did you get your widows? I grew up in mpls; we never had widows; I now own a house in Burbank CA; when I bought my house in 05, black widows were frequently found; I’ve never sprayed with insecticides ; have not seen any in years; for that matter, seems like insects are becoming fewer and fewer since 05;

I've noticed the same decline. There are no black widows in Minnesota (except maybe some down in the SE corner of the state). I got mine from Underground Reptiles, in Florida.
