I agree! They both do a really good job, but I have always leaned toward more natural colors so I'm going with the KEYone on this one. And I was honestly kind of surprised, because I knew it had a good camera but I wasn't expecting it to do so well against the S8.
Chance M. yeah I like the design of tbr KEYone as well but I would have liked a larger display for video but I do like the physical keyboard sometimes too. good balance all around though.

Wow! its surprising how good the BlackBerry KEYONE's camera looks, and the audio sounds better on the KEYone. Just wow! and the k1 is like $200 cheaper. This review has helped to make my decision about getting a K1
Very surprised, the first impartial video I have seen on youtube, the proof here is in the eating as they say. I think they were near enough equal if I'm honest. A fantastic impartial no bias at all video, great job.
A couple of the low light shots are better on the S8, so I'll give it that. BUT I don't think most people take pics when it's that dark out anyway, so. lol. KeyONE FTW! Thanks a lot for this video! Samsung pictures looks there is some filter over it and find the natural colors betters and mostly with software you can boost the colors up, also the camera of the KEYone looks sharper. But both camera seems good and the KEYone is still to come with update's.. Must I coose now I choose the KEYone camera even now it a pre-production it looks awsome . Never thought p.s. I checked some reviews and was thinking to buy this summer the Samsung S8, but the reveiws are positive specialy about the battery and the performance was right. I don;t play games en watch sometimes youtube, but mostly use it for browsing, emailing and sending messages. I gone save my self 200 euro and just pre-order the KEYone
hello there how do you find the keyone? im planning of retiring my samsung note 5, which have been my daily driver for 2 years now, its with a keyboard case by samsung which completes it with a physical keyboard. i have been a QWERTY guy eversince, loved and treasured my moments with the sony ericsson p990, p1i, nokia e90, nokia e63. until those glass slabs forced us to abandon the PKB. hoping for you feedback!
I've been carrying 2 phones, the BlackBerry Passport and Samsung S7, and I've always thought the WB on the Samsung phones was far too blue, so I'm glad you picked up on it. I've watched a lot of reviews online and I can finally go back to carrying just one phone, the BlackBerry KeyOne.
What an awesome review! For the difference in price it's Blackberry Keyone hands down. Rugged phone, physical keypad, android, Blackberry security, all nicely packed into a sharp looking phone.
single most informative video regarding the KeyOne, my concerns are all gone except for lag but i understand some users have made the phone snappy by turning down animations in the dev menu. the sound quality and camera quality are very reassuring along with some of the best battery life of any modern smartphone at all!

Honestly I didn't think KeyOne would have any chance but after watching your video, I'm pleasantly surprised. I don't think KeyOne camera beats Samsung's overall but it's a very good one indeed and produced some photos better than Samsung's best.
Great video always man! And a very unique comparison👍. Gotta say yes the S8 pics look better but is it replicating the colour of the object? Is it winning because its just making everything colourful and people will automatically lean towards the colourful pic even though the sky was never that blue in real life?
Pretty much the same, I prefer S8 front facing, Keyone for night shots, S8 for shooting flowers, Keyone for the less saturation more real photos, S8 for 4K image stabilisation. Surely camera will not be anyone's deciding factor between these phones.
Pictures taken with any Samsung phone produce that stupid blue colour cast, which means every photo has to have the WB tweaked afterwards. I'm glad you mentioned it, it seems to have been ignored by almost everyone else. The Samsung phones have been like that for years.
I've used Blackberry and Apple phones at the same time while my father used the high end models of Samsung..Apple and Blackberry phones tend to produce a natural, closer to real life kind of image while Samsung phones produce a slightly glamourised version of it..Samsung phones make one look slightly whiter than their original complexion..It's a personal preference at the end of the day..This is my personal opinion..

I think the KeyOne is a winner on this test, also in the timeproof engineering and lastly in the price range; but it isn't in marketing, loyalty other fancy features, so it's possibly a fight already lost for the KeyOne. Great video and great pictures man.
I spent $1000 on a KEYone to be shipped to me from eBay in the USA - I am VERY HAPPY. The battery, camera, keyboard, ALL GREAT. VERY FAST TOO. The 625/3G ram is just fine. The only thing about the camera is it isnt good on Snapchat, but that's not BB's issue. I hope Snap can look as good on Android someday as Apple :

That is a really interesting comparison. That the S8 is good, but tends to over expose a touch. Whilst Keyone has the same Sony camera as the Pixel I've heard that it wasn't up to muster. Your demonstration actually shows that BB can keep up. Thanks!
I must say as a big fan of Samsung and I'm using one right now to watch this video and side note I was part of the blackberry hype. So this is hard to say but I think the (keyone) took the overall win. The S8 is a big deal but it's good to see other smart phones stepping up to challenge Samsung on the camera ability.

I have to admit, a little surprised at how well it stacked up, but I am more of a natural colors kind-of-guy so the KEYone for me. Both the front and back cameras. The audio is a little tricky though, I would have to hear them in a few different environments to really decide.
I've just purchased this phone today and expecting delivery tomorrow... I am most definitely excited.. 🤤😬😱. I'm currently using a Huawei mate 9, main reason I purchased this phone was for the camera and that I was sick of the Samsung lag. I got to say at 1st I was like yes finally got a good phone but after a while is the same as Samsung and am I disappointed.. A 16MP camera and pic quality is at best average.. Only had it since Feb and already getting rid of it. I've done my research on the BBK1 and I'm not going to be disappointed as I was with the Huawei. I've use to love the old BB Bold 9780 and I hopping the BBK1 is going to be the 2017 version of the bold. #goodtimesahead Simple I'm excited...
they both had there ups and downs, it seemed the keyone could get rid of noise better but the S8 had that more detail look on things that weren't dark, and with the 4k being total crap on the KEYone, I'm gonna say the S8 hands down is the winner, but as for my main driver I'm excited to say I'm a holder of the KEYone 😍
Bought the keyone three wks ago and with out doubt the best ph I've ever owned, and I have a s7 iPhone 7 plus many other flagships. The camera is fantastic and at least as good as the others...
Honestly, it's nice to see that the camera is not crappy. And for me the biggest draw for keyone is the keyboard, then the looks, and that it is different from the rest. I understand that these are subjective, but it does give this phone an advantage for me
The fact that the Keyone can hold its own against a flagship camera wise is enough said for me. At one point in time, this wouldn't even be a conversation.
If the keyone supposed to have the same sensor as the Google pixel, which supposed to be the best camera out there, doesn't it mean that the keyone must have the same camera quality? Or is software also important on how it processes photos?

The keyone is a great phone and feels nice to switch to a physical keyboard. These camera results are a nice surprise though! Keyone is a great surprise :)
I can't say the keyone beat the s8.. looks like a tie to me ! both winning in different areas ! I blackberry is going to keep making camera like this I am so excited to to see what they have instore for the future !

With most smartphones $400+ having such good cameras and other specs, I still can't see why Samsung is still pricing thier flagships so high SMH. Keyone clearly gave the s8 a run for it's money
+patrick mbughuni yup there are other factors in it but the image quality is on par. The software actually on the KeyOne is very nice. My review should drop in the next few days
The dynamic range is way better on the S8. Aside from that, both are really good and the KEYone produces outstanding images. I believe what kills the S8 camera is its overprocessing.
Thats the best phone, if you a blogger, vlogger, social media user or business person. Planty of security, battery is amazing, and the phone dont heats up like the others do. Great industrial look, with mix of rubber back. Reminds me on Porsche design, kind off. To bad that its not waterproof, bit well you cant have everything. Cant wait to see the most common issues with this BB, to see if it will have potential to buy one. Till than. I want an smartphone that is secure, faster to use, and have good battery. As I hate power banks for €20 with smartphones that cost 1K. Hello.
I'm surprised as I like a few of the Keyone's photos, but for video and audio it's the S8 all the way. Overall I prefer the S8. However I have to respect the quality of the Keyone's photos. I'm a S8 plus user, but would be happy with either phone, taking pictures.
Keyone holds it's own but in the night time shots look at the street lights. The S8 contains lens flares while the Keyone noticeably has large flares. Still very impressed regardless with the Keyone's camera.
S8 is definitely better, but for a blackberry and that price, it's pretty damn good and should really have no complaints. People just use the cameras for Instagram, Snapchat and shit like that. So it's definitely good enough.
Daylight shots were kinda about preferences. I did love the KeyOne. But the video test and low light was definitely won by KeyOne. Sadly it has Snapdragon 625.
the keyone outruns Samsung in daylight but the for the lowlight Samsung's better and the front camera on keyone and also the audio is better. I wish keyone didn't had that keypad
The Keyone has a better front facing camera and audio. I feel that the S8 has the better rear facing shooter though. The stabilization while recording 4K video looks great!
in this video,i think the blackberry did a splendid work compared to s8 simply because the blackberry produced natural photos so they looked more realistic
