The wallpaper was extracted and reformatted by Backdrops which is where I obtained it from. I'm letting people know where they can download it themselves. Most people don't have access to the Mojave beta to get it that way.
Hi Jeff! I've been trying to "Content Transfer" from KeyOne to KeyTwo, but the transfer app hasn't found the KeyTwo, and I've tried several times. Any advice as to what could be happening?
sorry to be so offtopic but does any of you know of a method to log back into an Instagram account? I was stupid lost the password. I would appreciate any help you can give me
You are the first person I've seen demoed the speed keep properly. I keep seeing reviewers pressing the speed key on the home screen, but on the homescreen u can just essentially hit any key to take u to that app, but the speed key you use when inside another app and want to multitask.
@@jspring86 Yea that got my attention. I have decided that the Key2 is the way I'm gonna go now. The 20% larger keyboard already had me swaying because I just can't use touchscreen phones very well. I wanted Blackberry to make this phone ten years ago.
I like the keyone (typing on it now) but you just showed me on the better feel of the keytwo. Maybe I'll sell this one, because the keyOne is awesome for me because I have the black edition with the 4gb of RAM.
I have seen more objective videos that slammed the Key2 for obvious reasons. Unfortunately when u get free phones to encourage people to upgrade, u tend to hype the newer phones so the manufacturers will continue to send u free phones to review. "Key2 is sturdier and lighter" translation: is made with cheaper building materials and feels like a toy compared to the beautiful Key1.------Still sportin my Key1. Will not wait for new 5g phone because i dont believe it is coming. Astroslide and Unihertz Titan will likely b my next new phones.
Hello Sir Jeff, 1. What's your premonition for usability over the next 2 years for those people on a two year contract (and that includes speed, battery and software support)? 2. Can you recommend any durable cases for dropping this key2... (Because I definitely drop my phone in the first week). 3. Is 64 gb internal storage the only one available or is there a 128 gb internal storage available? 4. Will there be a dualsim version? 5. How good is the phonecall qualitiy... This is most times skipped in reviews. Wich is strange to me. Iphone 7 had problems with this. All the focus is on how good the camera is. All I need from a camera is a fast starting camera with reasonable photo's in daylight and lowlight. 6. Will the keyboard surivive intensive us for two years? That's it... Hopefully you'll answer some of these questions in the full review. Thank you and keep it cool.... Maurice
The speed key is not that advantage if you use the app FastKey with the keyone. You use then the convenience key and a short cut to jump from one app to the other. Very useful and you don´t have to press both keys at the same time but after one the other. I just bought the keyone black edition and very satisfied.
Nice quick list. Lookin forward to the full review, but you already convinced me to upgrade. Q: Can we record phonecalls on this one? (Thats the reason I shifted from my BlackBerry Classic tot Samsung).
Nice initial review. Can't agree more with you regarding the tremendous upgrade in the keyboard section and performance. Btw Keyone had the Sony IMX sensor which was used in Pixel Phones, so which manufacturer supplies the new sensor on the Key2 and how good are them? Looking forward to the indepth review.
best keyboard was on the passport. Key3 should revert back to the passport size width by standard screen (not square passport style screen) and I will be a happy camper!
i love Blackberry … i collect them all i have the Q10, Bold , Playbook ( Tablet ) , Passport , Keyone ( 1 ) + Keyone 2 when it will be Released …. BB is better the Samsung or Apple I - Phone …. the only disappointing factor is the battery life and i miss the old BB HUB with the os 10 Operation System Greets from Italy ( im sorry my english is not so good )
I want to upgrade my phone. I don’t use social media on my phone. I simply use it for messaging , calling and navigation. I know battery wise this is a good phone. However based on why I want to upgrade, is this still the best option ? Or which phone would you recommend
Hi Jeff, Thanks for the video - I have bought a Key 2 LE BBE100-4 Dual Sim Gold and want to transfer "everything" from my Key One. Do you have a video for this please? Or a link to a set of instructions? Preferably one which just duplicates it all and no need to re-do all the apps and home screens? Many thanks, David
2:30 this was a big improvement for the Key2. World of difference. It is now getting closer, but not quite all the way there yet, to the size and feel of legendary BlackBerry keyboards on devices like the Bold Touch 9900 or even the Classic.
Notice the Key2 Video mode is different from Keyone. In Keyone under Video mode, you can either click on video record or still photo taking independently. I love the Keyone video mode that single mode to access to both video recording and still photo taking but not Key2, the still photo taking button is grey out if video recording is not pressed. Also the button designed for Video mode is not changed to video symbol, still using the same still camera symbol.
I am a lover of Blackberry but the new phones do not have one essential point of the blackberry the small mouse that Blackberry Classic has or all the old / original blackberry had
After having a KeyONE for 3 months and having see a lot of videos about the Key2, i must say that theres no good reason for me to "upgrade" to the Key2, specially now that i have the Oreo update. Blackberry is a business phone, plain and simple. It doesnt matter the camera or the storage, I have no problem having "just" 32 GB. Finally, all of the features on the Key2, you have it on the KeyONE, like privacy shade when you swipe down with 3 fingers, notable, copy paste with the keyboard and more.
Horacio Borgen hello, I actually like keyone ,which is thicker than the key2 ..to me, it gives more classic look and is heavier ...key2 is slimmer ,but a little taller ...
I have the Blackberry KeyOne for over a year upgrading from the defunct Blackberry Passport OS 10 (which I had for 3 years). KeyOne was a great improvement going to Android OS. I paid $670 CDN for the KeyOne, not looking at the Key 2, but the price difference is holding me back, I can't see paying $829 CDN for the Key 2, just a few minor changes. There are stories that TCL might release the Key 3 with 5.5" screen, depending when it comes and the price, I might still keep the Key One. I might even upgrade to the Oneplus 6T, even ditching the keyboard.
I did a deep investigation of what users thought of Key2 after using Key1. long story short: I bought a Keyone (coming from Passport) and also love it, will never part with it until the 5g version comes out.
I think the extra ram and 660 makes a big difference. If you feel like it's sluggish it might be worth it. The camera isn't really a compelling reason in my opinion.
I love my Keyone and it looks I think a bit better than the Key2. I am sure it is an upgrade so I get it. But damn I love my Keyone. This is coming from a dedicated I Phone X user. So going back to Blackberry was a major challenge. But I made it ha ha. Great to have a grown ups phone again
Great review, and certainly important for me as a KEYone user. Love this phone and intrigued by the KEY2! Kind of an obscure question: I currently rely on the RIGHT-SHIFT key on my KEYone to be mapped as a "Cntrl" key, for cut-/copy-/pasting commands. With the Speed Key in place, is there any way I'll still have that functionality?
im planning to buy the key1 us it worth buying the key2 cause im thinking the low price of the key1 is better than buying a key2 which i think is not muh of an upgrade
One of BIG MISTAKE in my like is buy Blackberry K1, But good thing is, sometime i'm getting angry and throw it on floor many time but still can use....who's is the designer of BBK?
I watched this without sound rn! But one question, did they fix the freaking screen sizing problem?! Cause on apps like snapchat or IG sometimes, the top and bottom half of the picture I look at are cut off because it's zoomed in. It's such an annoying draw back with my keyone -.-
it's worth a try. I had the Priv for three years and am upgrading to a key one on friday. I am going to wait until the price of the K2 drops before purchasing. BB on android is ok. And this is coming from a die hard BB10 user/lover. I still use the Q10 as my work device.
Jeff Springer 😭😭😭 I'm so sorry to hear that, Jeff, as I'm considering the regular XZ2 as an upgrade. But I respect & understand where you're coming from with Sony; sadly, they're a niche player at best in the US market. I swear, the manager at BestBuy was almost literally trying to talk me OUT of the XZ2 last week, after I played with the demo extensively !! 😲😆 I'm probably leaning a bit more toward the Huawei Mate 10 Pro; despite some misgivings about the EMUI skin, it seems to rock in every other regard. What annoys me a bit with the Sony is just the little, stupid things that they get wrong, despite having great software -- with the XZ2, the slippery round back, the FP sensor location, the low-res FF camera, etc. Your thoughts ?
Sharky165 I've had the XZ2 C for a few months now and so far the experience has been great. Extremely fast and a pleasure to hold in one hand. Finger print sensor location is just a matter of getting used to, at least on the compact version. But getting the K2 anyway, I miss the physical keyboard.
I have Keyone. And I think there are not enough reasons to upgrade to Keytwo. I mean these reasons are not THAT meaningful. Especially considering the price of the phone. And, this is just my very personal opinion here, - I just don't like the design of Keytwo. It looks kinda cheap, kinda…"chinese"? I think Keyone has more serious looking. Just look at the very top of the phone, those rounded metal sides. I never held Keytwo in my hands, but it looks (!) like it's made of plastic.
@@NokodaHere ive bought the keyone one year ago. Battery is ok, no big issues here, but the Phone its getting pretty laggy over the time. Had exactly the same problem with the bb classic. The first year went well and nearly exactly after a year the smartphone started to get weaker
I'm coming from Samsung Note 9 but now I'm thinking of going back to Blackberry. I used to have Q10 then Q20 when I shifted to Samsung but now I'm coming home.
After about 2 years, BlackBerry stopped making updates for the BlackBerry Priv. And due to BB's security policy, you can't install an aftermarket OS. In other words, you spend hundreds of bucks to have no support after 24 months. No, never again.
BlackBerry screwed up with the navigation buttons. BlackBerry is wasting screen space with these navigation buttons. Other than that it sounds like a good phone.
Shawn Vega Velez yes thats is also what i think. Blackberry needs to stop wasting display space. I got the keyone black edition. Good device but the waste of display space is just stupid. There is a reason why most of the phones have Software navigation bars or use gestures. And i talked to so many People that think the same. OS10 Gestures is the way to go hier blackberry.
Sadly Blackberry doesn't have plans to carry any CDMA variant yet, so it won't work on Verizon, even the unlocked models. That could change later of course.
Verizon is sunsetting its CDMA network in the next 12 months and has already begun shutting down many of its CDMA towers. You don't need CDMA radios for your phone to work on Verizon any longer. If a phone supports Bands 2, 4, and 13 it's good to go on Verizon. The Key2 has all of these bands. It will work just fine on Verizon's network. HTC U11 was officially advertised and endorsed by Verizon itself as Verizon compatible, but it lacks CDMA radios. They are obsolete. Look it up for yourselves.
The keyboard is the main draw for me to upgrade..... However, I am not willing to throw down $300+ for a Key2.... And refuse to get an LE (no capacitive keyboard).
Lol the KEY2 is easily worth $300 or more, it's the latest (and best) keyboard phone you can get. And it's not like there are tons of options out there...
Us true BlackBerry users do not want to down grade to a breakable phone. Please make a stainless version. Don't settle for less again #StainlessBlackBerry
Good review. I appreciate it was just an introductory one. I have had both the BB Key1 and more recently the Key2. The build quality of the Key2 is rushed. A common complaint is the spacebar on the Key2 fails, as did mine after several months. And so I am reverting to the Key1, which, with the arrival of the Key2, can now be picked up brand new very affordably. The video quality of the Key2 is far superior, but that was my only observable real improvement.
I want blackberry passport silver in android. Yesterday, I bought iPhone 12 mini but I missed my blackberry hub. I am planning to return and buy blackberry key 2 silver. I miss you blackberry :(
I recommend avoiding the Blackberry devices all together. There was a good 40 days that my KeyOne was useless due to a messed up patch for the OS by Blackberry, unless you can afford having a phone that doesn't respond or have service due to bugs.
My Keyone started off great(I've had it for 14 months) and now it has connectivity issues, doesn't load certain apps, websites, Wi-Fi works only sometimes. This is after I did a reset because it had even worse issues, thinking it would help. It didn't. This is a known issue between BlackBerry and Sprint, and neither have released a fix for it. So I'm stuck with a phone that only works when it wants. Do not buy these phones!
