Every once in a while, a band comes along that hits you just right. For me, it's Blackberry Smoke. These guys' songs have gotten me through some of the highest of highs, and the lowest of lows, but none of them quite like this one. "Ain't Much Left of Me" became one of my favorite songs the first time I heard it, but I came across this version a few days after my mom passed and it made it so much more personal to me, as they incorporated "Amazing Grace" and Bob Marley's "Three Little Birds"- the song my daughter sang to my mom when she was in the hospital. Words can't express the feeling I get when I hear this live version.
I'm sorry for your lost. Yet how amazing a find this must have been. As if it were compiled just for you. Then again , you never know. It may have been influenced by someone above who loves you and watches over you still..
saw these guys last week in Spokane Wa. - I've been to 100 + shows in my time and these guys are tied for #1 one - I wish I would've know about them 15 years ago . Keep on with GREAT performances Charlie and guys - Love from N. Idaho !
This band proves to me that too much great music passed me by while i was wrapped up in own world. Reminds me to stop and listen to everything I can so I get the chance to hear bands that have this amazing level of pure hard working, earned talent. And not too many bands are this tight, together as one when they play. Thank you Blackberry Smoke for all the work you have done to spread the magic of music to the world...never stop. Please stay healthy and safe. That goes for everyone...
You guys are awesome better than this the music I'm 65 don't get any better than this music the life I have been living every road I have went down to in life we all haven't experience and listening to blackberry smoke always one of the best
Got to see them this past weekend and they still got it easily top 5 of all time performances I've seen in person. Theyve been rockn this part of Michigan for 22 years! 🤘
One time in Illinois back in the early eighties, I ventured down the State to my friends Dads farm. We were out banging gears in an old GTO when I made a nasty comment about the farmers not leaving tree lines along the roads. He said to me; "Don't bad mouth the farmer with yer mouth full!" It stuck til this day and beyond! YAH Bless the Farmer!
I only recently discovered these guys and love the proud southern flavor of their music! I grew up on Skynyrd,Blackfoot,Outlaws,.38 special,Tom petty so the more I hear of them the better I like what their laying down
Been a fan since 1999......Met them personally 3 times and also spent some time with Richard's two boys who gave me some of their personal guitar picks. best live band period.......Spread the SMOKE brothers and sisters!!!
I agree. His real name is Charles Gray and he's from my small hometown in Eastern AL Lanett, AL. and wrote "One Horse Town" about it. He is amazingly talented!!!!!
Hope you are doing better. Blackberry Smoke music helped me alot too with people and events I wished I could have changed for the better but could not. I learned it was time to care for me through it all. Hang in there ok?
I know what you meen, mine was "NO WEAPON" by Bryann Trejo Its a really uplifting song too. 🙏 And please don't feel alone, this world is HARD and full of evil but it cant "rain" all the time. Stay as positive as possible. P.S. The song "A CHANGE IS GONNA COME" was number 2 on my list of helpful songs I could relate to when I was at that point in my life. I couldn't tell you how much "healing" power music has had on me.
I love this beautiful guitar he's playing. This band is greatness, bringing it!! Love this live version. They're so talented most of their stuff sounds better live than on the album. Although I encourage ya'll to do both, buy the music and see them live!!
Being a music lover, I am embarrassed to admit, but somehow I've missed knowing this group until a year ago. They are Kick Ass. I'm normally a purest but they cover some of my old favs. and I gotta say "Right Frick'n ON!!!"
Thanks Farm Aid; Blackberry Smoke does it again; Charlie, Paul, Brandon, Brit and Richard: thank you for being so real and brilliant! Lili Kiki, best fan from France.
Hey thanks for your comment... just watching the end of the Homecoming Live in Atlanta. Long live BBS. See you at a concert one of these days. Lili Kiki.
Drummer looks just like "Bobby" from Sons Of Anarchy!! This band is sooo great and the BEST, most LEGIT southern rock band since skynyrd. Ronnie and Allen would have approved.
So talented you are Brandon , The Turner Brothers, Paul and Mr Charlie Starr . I just saw them do this live a couple weeks ago and they are awesome as ever . I've been a fan for right around 10 years and if I was rich enough I would follow their bus and fly to Germany or the UK . I can't begin to explain how underrated I feel this band is . They sound so good live and I have an awesome time watching them do it . I do wish they would put "Like I Am " back into the set list . I also love "Son of a bourbon" and "Prayer for the little man" which they played both frequently early on. Hearing them go into "Mississippi Kid" an old Skynyrd song recently was very cool and very well executed. See ya all soon BBS .
Love that hand carved guitar I am a big Four Horseman fan.A band that couldn't get out of the gate, but these guys finally did. Funny how I compared these two bands and now they have there guitar
Like Chris Stapleton! Blackberry Smoke Carry on the Great Southern Rock and Roll! With a little down home country! Got your ears on Harlan Kentucky! 👍🏁🐴✌️
BBS is my new favorite youtube live music band! Lots of good originals and good covers and collaborations/jams with other talented musicians. Charlie does Marley very well!
Given the times we're living in now we need this band. Seems like a lot in this mix, a bit of 38 Special here, Skynrd, original Allmans, all rolled into an Internet age band with soul, talent and brains. Come to New Orleans ASAP please.
Excellent band! My guitarist turned me on to these guys :) I'd give my left nut to get my hands on that sweet old Jazz bass! It'd be painful, but well worth it lol. Thanks for posting!
