Since the original opening of the song was itself a reversal of the original recording - this makes sense... and actually kind of sounds better. It'll take a few more listens through for me to decide that for sure though.

I really dig the tempo swap, great take on a great song! Blackened is my favorite song off of AJFA and reminded me the most of their older songs - interesting how it was co-written by Jason Newsted and sounded more like older Metallica than the other guy’s stuff. Yet he was the “New Kid”…

God damn this version's heavy. That tempo switch-up after the solo is a real mindfuck, and I love it. Troy on vocals absolutely seals the deal as a sludge-y take on Blackened, and I might just prefer it to the original. At least there's bass in this one.
