I have to say that you've done one hell of a job of bringing this video to life with your editing. The music is an especially good and deliberate addition. The whole video felt like a scene from a lighthearted film. ... and yeah, great info on the Pocket Cinema cam. Cheers!
I use the BMPCC on a gimbal for pro work and as an A Cam for my personal documentary projects. Its absolutely mind boggling that BMD figured out how to pack that much camera into such a little package.
@@martinkulik9466 I use an EF Adapter and Rokinon Cine DS Lenses. I also like to use the 7 Artisans 25mm which is native M 4/3s. Its an amazing little lens for under $100.
Mine finally arrived. Been playing with it almost everyday now and getting my head around it and your video came in really handy. I made the decision to buy it after your videos and I'm in the process to sort out the battery, ND filter, Tripod and adding a wide angle lens to my kit. I'm lucky mine came with 2 cages and a Nikon Metabones adapter. I bought a PB to Nikon adapter so I can use all my lenses (vintage Praktica lenses 28mm f2.8, 50mm f1.8, 30 to 70mm f2.8 and 135 f2.8) and it works really nicely.
still own 2 of these, and still use them for private films and occasionally on prof work.... this camera is single best camera of last decade... in 2020 still better than every other brand new DSLR... if you dream of proper filmmaking and can't afford RED/ARRI this has been THE answer for soooo long... not to mention that MOST films you have seen in your life "look" like this camera's footage... very pleasing and immersive... the positive is price... the negative is the amount of knowledge essential to get it really working.... THIS CAMERA IS PROPABLY ONE MOST IMPORTATNT FACTOR THAT kept myself going to become cinematographer...
I bought my adaptor from ebay. I recommend the big Nikon batteries. You will need a rig to hold that thing. If you want to shoot raw, you will need a 1TB external drive just to hold the raw files. I also use a Newer Field monitor: also requires a special bmpcc Hdmi cable. For sound, stick a cheap mic on it and record audio separate with a zoom mic then just sync the audio in premiere and scrub out the bmpcc audio because it is rubbish.
For lenses you can get a mft adaptor for any camera lens. It will take cctv lenses too. I use Samyang cine lenses (Rokinon). They are declicked so smooth, silent and allow a follow focus to be attached.
Awesome video. I'm thinking about getting this camera as an introduction to the filmmaking world. I currently use a Canon T3i but want to jump into more cinematic gear so I can learn.
nice video. I think the best and at the same part the least easy side is you need to be very, very skill full with colour grading and lighting when shooting bmpcc. Especially skin tones tend to be off in ppl vids. Second thing the image looks a bit soft for 2019. In my opinion the best blackmagic so far is the production 2.5K camera, it’s just have the satisfying image.
Hey, thank you for this video. I was racking my brain about what camera I wanted to get in my somewhat limited budget that could get me real cinema style quality and I had forgotten about this baby. I want to rig it mildly like the way you have. What cage is that and any chance you'd have links to the add ons you put? Including the view finder thingy?
@Dark Days On Earth It's a really great camera. I keep forgetting to ask, were you filming the opening of this video with the pocket cinema camera or was it the c100?
Great video.. can you confirm that the sigma 17-50 2.8 you used is the Ef-s lens and you had no issues mounting this to the Viltrox em 2?.. I thought there was an issue with the plastic on the barrel of efs lenses?
Instead of that battery adapter, add a 5 inch display with DC out. It makes the rig slightly larger (not much) but much better utility and a better looking rig. On the SD cards - good luck finding one of the ACTUAL recommended cards that isn't a fake. After months I finally found a genuine Sandisk card after receiving several mislabeled and then fake cards. Kingston Canvas React will do RAW at 30fps. The best alternative that will 100% work is the Angelbird SD cards. (expensive but work) If I had to do it all again I would just buy a few Angelbird cards and call it a day.
Hi Wyatt, nice video! I really enjoy your content. Did you modify the Sigma 17-50mm f2.8 to fit on the Viltrox ef m2 Adapter? Thank you so much and keep up the amazing work!
For the record: SD CARDS: We got all the marketing shit when 4K cameras came out, you need this card or this card etc etc. I went and got a Trancend 128GB U3 card five years ago it cost £70 when some other cards we £300. I have not had one bit of bother with that card in fact I went and bought another two and they have also been excellent. Recording 4K Log. Never tried them with RAW but 95mb sec is whats required the Transcend cards are fine. I believe it's the 'U3' part that is important.
great video ! But what is the firmware of your speedbooster ? Image stabilization doesn't work with the one I have :-(

Oh, the setup video is very good. You may list lenses and mount adapters for the lens and battery pack .... Or the whole kit and website where they are sold. Thank you very much
There is an app on Googleplay which acts as a view finder for bmpcc. I use an external monitor which is great outside. I do have a gimbal but never tried it with the bmpcc because it doesn't auto focus. Might give it a try though. I would love to get the 4k.
Yup, I tried with a couple of cards and also read from multiple forums that all newer SanDisk cards are incompatible, despite the model numbers haven't changed for years. There was a firmware change starting from certain serial numbers which broke the compat and BM didn't want to release an upgrade for the camera even tho they have been aware of the issue at least since 2019. BM hasn't updated their recommendations but I read that at least at some point SanDisk mentioned somewhere the cutoff serial numbers. However, that's silly because there is no way to know the serial number before opening the package.
this is the first video i came found that properly maximizes in my 21x9 monitor. every other video shot in 21x9 aspect ratio just has this really ugly black frame. wtf youtube.
