our sam's club here in bangor maine has the blackmax 7kw model bm907000. it is also on sam's website. the 907000 will run 10 hours on 8 gallons of gas, whereas the bm10700dr will run 14 hours on 8 gallons of gas. half load for both run times.
Is this 6000 Watt portable Generator like Honda, Yamaha, Kubota, Robin, etc need a High Performance Gasoline for running this Engine or not? It is ok for me to use a Gasoline with a RON Research Octane Number below 88? I knew when a Gasoline with RON 88 are recommended for a Gasoline 4 Stroke Engines with a Compression Ratio less than 9:1.

I have one of these and it's one of the biggest hunks of crap i have ever seen. The battery didnt work from the get go. I put a charger on it and it just wouldnt take a charge. A complete piece of junk battery. Then the second time I had to use it, btw using the hand pull to start it the thing kept quitting on me. Appears the carb is a piece of junk too. I'm guessing at least those two items were made in china. I dont know where the engine was made but it seems to be good other than the carb. I am disabled and Sam's didnt seem to care about the things wrong with it.
Sorry to hear that, bro ... I bought this generator in 2011. I used it only a couple of times for no more than an hour or two before Hurricane Maria passed through Puerto Rico. After Maria, I used this generator every day for at least 8-12 hours for 7 months and it worked like a charm. I ran my whole house all day and at night I turned it off for rest and maintenance and used a 2000 watt inverter generator for basic and light things. The truth is, the battery was dead on the first start, but the generator started with just one pull. But after 6 years I think the battery needed to be replaced anyway.
