The instrument that was played at the beginning is called a geomungo. It's a traditional Korean instrument and Jisoo learned to play it for the video.

I know you caught a couple of them, but the musical references on "Pink Venom" are pretty extensive: The song starts with a crowd chanting "Blackpink" like the crowd chants "Bravehearts" in the Nas song "Made You Look". Then Jennie hits us with a reference to Biggie's famous line "kick in the door, wavin the 44"(Jennie says Coco). Next Lisa references Rhianna's "Pon de Replay" with "One by one and two by two" and also 50 Cent's P.I.M.P. with "you can't get a dollar outta me". Rosé and Jisoo both reference Taylor Swift with "look what you made us do" also "I bring the pain like" is a reference to Method Man's "Bring the Pain". Finally, the Jennie/Lisa rap verse is backed by a sample of Ice Cube/Eazy-E's part of "Gangsta Gangsta" by N.W.A(could also be "Dope Man" pretty much the same sample). All the hip hop references aren't a coincidence as they happened to release this track during the 49th anniversary of hip hop. Teddy(their producer) and the girls definitely weren't shy about shouting out their inspirations/favorite artists in this song.

🙌🏼I'm from LA California, so the song was very nostalgic😌. It took me back to the early 2000's, of Hiphop. You should react to "How you like that", & "Kill this love" next. Or watch some live Coachella performances. They are AMAZING performers, that know how to dominate the stage. Blackpink become the 1st Kpop group, to perform at Coachella. They were also the 1 Girl group/Kpop group, to become HEADLINERS for Coachella .

Between the group, the individual members, and collaborations with other artists like Dua Lipa and Lady Gaga they have a whole bunch of great music. You’ve done some of their great ones but there is quite a bit more to discover. I would do Kill This Love next. You probably already know “How You Like That” and don’t realize it’s them. Crazy Over You was their only all English song for a long time. Tally sends a powerful message to a certain group of people. Typa Girl has clever lyrics and is quite a flex. The remix of DDU-DU-DDU-DU (the English version, not the Japanese version) is probably my favorite song from them. Very rock’ish and high energy. YG artists can dance, but they tend to lean more on easier choreography compared to other groups. Sure they can do over the top choreo if they wanted to but intense choreography was never apart of YG’s formula. In YG’s case, less is more because of the fact that the artists under YG have soo much charisma and stage presence that even doing easier choreo, they still stand out like a rose in a field of dandelions lol but do look out for YG’s new girl group Babymonster. They about to kill the game just like what their older sisters(Blackpink) have been doing.

10:36 nah, they have whole choreography, but obviously, it's not in the MV because this is not a dance performance video. In K-pop, every song has choreography, not just for the chorus but for the whole song. And blackpink chorus dance is suttle to meet the energy of the music. Blackpink's song chorus are also heavy bassed. Their most of the songs are trap. (English is not my first language but hope you understand)
