Shmo, Josh, and Noah react to BLACKPINK's new song "You Never Know". It is the eight, and final, track of their new album, "THE ALBUM". Social Media, Apple Podcasts, Spotify: linktr.ee/millennialmen Music by Rylan: / rylanladion
I always believe that Blinks can only understand this song because we are with BLACKPINK when they've gone through so much (especially last year) but these reactors ladies and gentlemen interpreted this song so will. Take note, they really don't know BLACKPINK that much yet.
The song is all about how they went through a lot of hates. How people can easily judge them without knowing that they're struggling too. (well it's just my opinion hehe)
@HOBi yeah, that part when she sang "Cause every sees what they wanna see it's easier to judge me than to believe" haters are talking sh*ts about her not knowing what exactly the reason behind it.
Did you hear the lyrics?? This song is about Black Pink herself, who has set goals and worked hard so far. And BlackPink conveys fears and conflicts of the present and the future!
This song is about the difficulties they've gone through. They received a lot of bashing and shaming, however, in spite of receiving those hate, they kept staying strong for BLINKS because they believe they still shine not only for themselves but also for those who believe n them.
You Never Know is everybodys Anthem huhu (well for me it is) The song is really meaningful like everyone can relate... i cired hard when i first listen to this song and after seeing the lyrics translation huhuhu
That's one thing I love about a lot of kpop songs. Even tho the lyrics are catered to their lives and experiences and even though we walk on different sides of the ribbon as them, their stories are relatable. Because they're human just like us and struggle just like we do. Sure, the actual experiences are way different from most of us, but the emotions are the same. When I fail an exam I studied hard for, when they mess up a show they practised hard for, the emotions we feel are the same. I mean we all have different playlists catered to our different moods right? Because the emotions portrayed im those songs match the emotions we're feeling. You feel less alone and like the song is giving you a big hug saying, "I get it".
This song is like for the haters cause there are many issues especially for the girls. They wanna shout out to their haters. Pretty savage is to talk back. This showcase their struggle(my opinion). Its a beautiful song.
The " He grabs me" part is actually a mistranslation, there should not be a " he" there. It actually means that those hidden thoughts sometimes grab and bother them, and the more it happens, the more they will shine.
yeah i assumed the “he” meant that their negative thoughts tend to come back everytime and try to put them down, but they will always overcome them and shine brighter.
Reactors like you guys is what we're looking for. I always love ur reactions and the way how u dig deeper on the meaning. You guys deserves a lot of subscribers. Stay safe always.
Since you've listened to all the songs from "The Album", Then I suggest: • Blackpink - Ddu Du Ddu Du • Blackpink - Kill This Love • Blackpink - Boombayah • Jennie - Solo (Jennie is a member of Blackpink) And also if you want to watch the live performance I suggest this: • Blackpink - Ddu Du Ddu Du at Coachella • Blackpink - Kill This Love at Coachella • Blackpink - Ddu Du Ddu Remix at Tokyo Dome.
This song hits hard especially if you know how much hate BLACKPINK members have been receiving for achieving what they have now. Always makes me emotional
next, please react to another mv -KILL THIS LOVE -DDU DDU DDU -BOOMBAYAH -WHISTLE -PLAYING WITH FIRE -AS IF IT'S YOUR LAST -STAY and 'kill this love' album
Blackpink as a group and as individual members received a lot of unnecessary hate, criticisms, and judgment since their debut (2016) until now, in which most of the time they remain silent and kept the pain to themselves. Now, I guess it's time for you to know their history and react to their early songs which are all fire and bangers. You'll be blown away too since you guys love the beats, videography and the concepts. Here's a list: - DDU DU DDU DU - Kill This Love - Boombayah - Whistle - Playing With Fire - As If It's Your Last - Stay - Jennie's SOLO If you wanted to know more about them personally and individually: - A Beginner's Guide to Blackpink! (who is who) - An Unhelpful guide to Blackpink (2019 version) - Their Netflix documentary on Oct 14 Other recommendations: - Live Coachella and concert performances - Dance practice videos which some are their B side tracks that are fire as well - Other B side tracks without MV Appreciate you so much for reacting to the entire album! For us Blinks, this album is so special not only because it's their first, but we know how much they worked so hard on this. It's so meaningful especially this song, mostly talking about their experiences and hardships they've gone through the years. They've always been a target of haters whenever they release something new. These girls seriously don't deserve all these hatred being thrown at them each time. So I'm not really suprised if they somehow responded back thru music and thru this album. THE ALBUM title really fits it. Most of the people don't realize that they are just like other human beings too who only wanted to fulfill their dreams and give their best effort to be loved by their fans and live with peace. They are really humble and kind to be honest. These girls are really special and we know that they will always shine in our eyes. We will all be waiting! Thank you so much!
I've been waiting for you guys to get to this one. I prefer their Black side but this.... This is the side that made me fall in love "Stay" to be exact, but when I heard this song... Amazing finish to The Album. Listen to "Stay" next. Incredible song that's sort of the unofficial Blinks and Pinks anthem. Blinks stay with the Pinks.
I agree. I discovered them because of their hard hitting songs bit like 'stay' made me obsessed with and fall innlove with them. Same with 'You never know'.
Stay is a song that Blinks label as their song. It is so beautiful. Yet has the least amount of views on RU-vid. This puzzles me. Maybe because Stay hits a raw emotion. OT4
@@corcdaveful I think you are right. Some of us might listen to it regularly but a lot of Blinks probably kind of save that song for when the mood is right for them. Which is understandable but still so tragic that is has so few views compared to their other songs.
I feel like this song can be about a lot of different things all at once. 1. It could be referring them being the subject of constant unfounded hate and prejudice from people who have no idea what's going on behind the scenes, what they've been through or who they really are. From the start of their career, blackpink has always been stamped with unfair and false statements about them being privileged (since they're signed to one of the most famous labels in korea) and their success being paid for / inorganic. There are also solo stans who delude themselves into thinking one member is bullied or that their friendship is fake. This could be a simple response to them saying "you're wrong. you don't know us, you don't know what we deal with and you'll never know." 2. It can also be about them struggling to come to terms with their newfound success and celebrity life. Even though it's been 4 long years since their debut, blackpink is infamous for their severe lack of music, content and long hiatuses (this itself is their first full album). Being kept away from their passion and not being able to do what they literally trained YEARS to do could be why they feel "stuck while the world changes around them". On the other hand, they've found monumental levels of success and fame, which of course comes with the dark side, like the lyrics "as the light (spotlight) shines brighter on them, their shadows grow longer" like their burden, pressure, loneliness, pain, fear and regret also grows. "I don't know myself well enough to recognize my true self" is the correct translation, this is probably referring to the real them and then the version of themselves that they're meant to portray as perfect. Basically, fame has a price. 3. And the final meaning I can think of is a lot more morbid, this song could also be about depression. The lyrics say things like "on a day when I tried to smile, why does everything seem dark, it's bringing me down" like how you can try and want as you like to cheer up, but it feels like everything around you is just dull, sluggish and gloomy, bringing you down. "Even though the world is changing, I still feel the same" is often what people going through depression feel like. The world, time and life is speeding past them and they can't keep up, they don't have the energy or motivation to do much of anything, they just feel like they're just ~there~ always the same. "Old thoughts I've hidden deeply begin to resurface and torment me" is the correct translation and is definitely a telling sign of deteriorating mental health. "Sunday night I've been swallowed by my bed, i've been all over my head" overthinking, being anxious and just depressed. The part where they sing "Imma shine baby, they anit got a shot on me" could symbolize them still fighting, because one day they'll manage to overcome this and shine (as well as give hope to others listening that it's okay and to just hang in there bc your day is coming soon!) sorry for the super long comment, I just really love the lyrics of this song!
Many people assume that they had an easy ride to the top, and don't realize just how many hardships the girls went through over the years. There were times when they didn't even think they were ever going to get to debut. But they held on to their beliefs and their dreams and managed to overcome all the hardships. Honestly, I don't think they would have succeeded if not for each other. Their greatest strength is the other members. Great reaction! Now you could take it back to debut with their debut releases of Boombayah and Whistle, and proceed forward to this album.
This song is about their haters who just judge them easily, and also tell us about how shining they are, they are still the same person like beginning (before their debut). It means that they are also an ordinary human who has feeling, heart, struggle, and working hard. I'm just tearing hearing this. They are also said (in Lisa rap part) that the world changes and actually they can choose to be changing too, fulfill or satisfying everybody, wearing a 'mask' and 'pretending' to be someone else/public wants. But, they can't and they choose to be themselves. 🥰
The translated version you saw wasn’t very good... unfortunately there are a lot of different translations floating on the internet and some are on point but some are not. The lyrics are about how they are still the same people they were even if the world has changed around them (the way they’ve become stars), how the dreams they’ve had from the beginning and the path they’re walking on is still the same, etc. Very emotional and personal song from them. I wish the translation was better.
If you guys are interested in knowing and learning about what it takes to be a kpop idol and specifically how blackpink has made it this far, there's a blackpink documentary dropping on netflix oct 14!! it'd be a cool thing to watch on your own sometime if you'd like to know their story and what kind of training kpop idols generally go through
They talking about their popularity the more famous they get the more they have to live according to how an idol should live perfect life a role model haters have increased but they have to smile to show to their fine but they are not but their believe they will be okay but want someone to notice they are human to
You guys should make a review of their netflix documentary that realise on october 14 to know how they became the stars they are today and what they went through over the past (nearly) 10 years they've been together.
Blackpink is the most hated girl group in the world and literally for no reason. And the hate is not even normal , their haters are just another breed the way they hate them with thier whole existence is insane. So pretty savage, love to hate me, and u never know are basically for thier haters
@@fchick yash its coz the media make YG image so bad. As we know YG cant ruled by the media. Everything abt YG always complain by them, its different when the other company did the same thing.
Oww, we're so touched, you guys really read and do our suggestion... we BLINKS cant help but be happy.. thank you so much guys... many people wont understand what makes this song special because they dont know the lyric, we are all agree that this song is PERFECT to end the album... we are all can see this song from many perspective like you guys said.. and Im glad that you guys GOT the meaning.... many of us also think that this song also a way to talk to the haters that keep talking bad about them, because we are all see and read that many HATE that they got... as usual, the more popular you are, you arent only getting fans, but you will also get some haters who keep mocking you, talking bad about you... and we've seen it all,,, they even ever have the problem about racism (especially for lisa who is foreigner, I mean all of them came from different world, but 3 of them actually korean although their nationality are not, but lisa is the only one that complete foreigner, thats why she got the hate about racism) and many more guys.. and at the end of the day, its like WHAT you guys said.. they overcame all the hard training, all the struggling, even all the hate, and keep doing what they are doing, keep gettin' better and better until what they are now.. and yeah even now they are still learning and leaning to keep gettin' better and better.... thank you so much guys for reacting to BLACKPINK.. Ive been here like everyday to see you guys reacting to the full album, and Im so happy..., yeah.. I will keep coming especially to see more BLACKPINK content, and we are all we'll be so happy to see that... thank you
In Korea becoming an idol, actress, model a lot of things in the entertainment industry you have to train so for BlackPink when they were at the ages 14-16 they auditioned for their company Jennie and Jisoo in Korea and Rosé in Australia and Lisa in Thailand then they moved to Korea without their parents and lived in dorms and trained for 4-7 years with no Guarantee of being put in a group to debut and when I say trained I mean competition style it was them and a bunch of other girls training in different styles of dance, vocals, rapping, language, public speaking, and so much more and they were tested every month by the CEO of the company and investors other idols in the company and all their teachers it’s a lot and that’s not even saying the dark stuff that they don’t talk about like idols being assaulted or the fact that they don’t get work experience or degrees so this is it if you don’t debut there’s not a lot you can do plus your company keeps a tab for the training, living facility, everything it’s a lot I suggest researching if your interested
I'm not an expert in Korean or anything, but it's probably just bad translation or maybe to literal. The lyrics I've seen say "Those bad ideas" not he. The chorus is another one, Rosie say's "Tangled string" It should be "laces" to better convey the meaning.
Lalisa Documentary would be a great one for you guys to check... It REALLY Shows what she had to go through to get to where she is now.. It's a very well done documentary too... Cheers!
I think Blackpink will never be Blackpink without this 4 wonderful talented girls! Now BLinks, just love all of them, they're not in competition, they are friends for so long fighting as one group as one family!
FINALLY!!! I don't know how many times I visited your channel just to see if you finally drop your "You Never Know" reaction. Hope you guys react to more Blackpink songs. I like how you put your attention to every details, from the visual of the video (if there's an mv) to the lyrics. And their Coachella performance, one of their best live performances. 😁
It amazes me that even though the three of you aren’t blinks YET, you understood the song the way we understand it. BLACKPINK really went through a lot so I hope people stop hating them and just appreciate them because that’s what they deserve.
i thought it was pretty easy to understand actually. i mean they’re literally saying but you never know unless you walk in my shoes & stuff like that yk
Please also react to their other MV 1. KILL THIS LOVE (released on 2019) - its really like an anthem song,,, 2. AS IF ITS YOUR LAST (Released on 2017) - its their PINK side, its so catchy .... I love this song a lot.. 3. DDU DU DDU DU (released on 2018) - Is the most viewed MV by KPOP group until now... 4. WHISTLE (Released on 2016, Which is their debut song, they have double release for their debut together with BOOMBAYAH) 5. STAY (Released on 2016) 6. DONT KNOW WHAT DO DO (they only have DANCE PRACTICE video and live performance, but its great) 7. KISS AND MAKE UP (ft DUALIPA) they have TOKYO DOME live performance, 8. SOUR CANDY (Ft LADY GAGA) 9. SO HOT (Lyric video or live performance) - but I suggest you guys react to Lyric video 10. PLAYING WITH FIRE (Released on 2016) 11. BOOMBAYAH (I think this MV will be the first debut MV to get 1B views) 12. FOREVER YOUNG (DANCE PRACTICE VIDEO) 13. KICK IT (LIVE PERFORMANCE TOKYO DOME or lyric video) 14. REALLY (LIVE PERFORMANCE TOKYO DOME or lyric video) 15. DDU DU DDU DU REMIX VERSION (LIVE PERFORMANCE) I hope you guys can consider this as your next reaction to BLACKPINK, we will be happy to know how you guys think about their music... Thank you so much for reacting and supporting BLACKPINK guys.... we're BLINK appreciate it a lot... :)
They have so many haters because they are too popular, these girls have been through so many issues such as lisa is being criticized because she was too skinny, jennie was being called lazy, rose's voice and for jisoo people saying she didn't deserved to be in blackpink because she is not talented enough...but the more people hates them, the more they become successful.
Damn. Hands down. You guys got the meaning of the song right. It’s so amazing that you’re not yet Blinks but you were able to decipher the real message of the song. The first time I listened to the song I have the same reaction with you. Thank you guys.
I love your lyric analyzation so much. This song speaks so much about their journey to get to where they are right now and their thoughts about the struggles in their career. To be able to debut as a Kpop idol is tough amidst many trainees but with Blackpink I think they've garnered more hate and criticism despite their growing popularity and consistent efforts to always be on top of their own game. The girls have always stayed silent but this song felt like both a cry and sigh where they let it all out to the world. A breather to look forward to their future growth.
The girls been through so much. This is my favorite song from the album. You can say they are the biggest Girl Group in the world now... but the haters is insane. The haters making things up to knock them down. These girls also faced sexism, compare them with the boy group. Blackpink is making history.
This is the reaction I've been wanting to see since then. You focused not only on the beats or how the song was composed but also the lyrics. Thank you! And I'll be subscribing!
I rarely sub to non-blink reactors, but you guys convinced me pretty soon. I like your insight on the songs very much and I'm glad you liked our pinks first full album :)
I really love your comments on the songs, your videos are already my fav blackpink reactions❤ also here is the songs you should react w mvs; -kill this love -ddu du ddu du -playing with fire -as if it's your last -stay -whistle -boombayah Bsides on the other albums; -kick it -see u later -really -don't know what to do -forever young -hope not
This is it🥺best song for me for their album of this year. This song is so sad those lyrics literally hit us, hit Blackpink literally fact those lyrics especially when Jennie say "It's easier to judge me than to believe" yo that was hurt literally fact and truth. This is why i love this song because it full of vocals and this song is song for bashers legit🥺Jisoo voice make it emotional🥺❤️ Ps: Why i love this song because i literally can sing the whole song like memorise the whole lyrics. HAHAHA And this is my bias era-Jisoo🥺❤️
I dont know why but this song is telling me that they are talking about the hate they faced before their debut bc u have to know that blackpink got a lot of hate before their debut like haters was saying they are talentless and they are going to flop if they debut and u know who are the haters blinks without i tell u right .and it could be also about the present them.
You guys did a great job analyzing and reacting to the album. As others have said, on top of what you all commented on, this song is about not letting the haters getting you down. One specific instance that many Blinks talk about with this song is some of the hate thatJennie received a few years back. There was a time where she had some sub-par performances, which were attributed to an injury. There was also speculation that there may have also been some sort of other personal issue (anxiety/depression). The amateur critics decided she was just spoiled and lazy, and she actually got labelled as K-pop's biggest villain in some circles which linger to this day. It is compounded by the fact that she is the only one who has been given a solo song by YG so far. IMO, she actually seems like a really nice person who is kind-hearted to the rest of the group and her fans, and that too many people take the ice queen image she projects in some performances as reality. She is also the most versatile performer in an extremely talented foursome, able to rap, sing, dance, act, and model very well. I look forward to seeing where you guys decide to go next, though I still think you should go back to the beginning with Boombayah or Whistle :)

I love how you guys had put depth and technicalities in your reaction video! Soooo good! 🙌🏻🔥✨
To start the journey about BLACKPINK, I recommend react to an unhelpful guide of BLACKPINK 2019 and their others videos in order since their debut. -Boombayah -Whistle -Playing with Fire -Stay -As if it’s your last -DDU DU DDU DU -SOLO by Jennie -Kill this love.
I super liked this video of you three. It's the best among your other blackpink reaction videos. I got a bit emotional here and I felt good because of that. Thanks for making this video and reminding to look forward and fight for my dreams like what BP did.
your interpretations & reactions of their new songs made me your new subscriber.. I like the way you guys tryna understand the meaning in their songs...
Don't watch this bullshit, you won't learn anything from these guides! If you would like to get to know the girls and get to know them better, please watch the one-to-one documentaries about Blackpink, as well as "Blackpink journey and friendships" and "The revolution story of Blackpink."
Guys i’ve watched your reactions and i really enjoyed it and i think you should react to blackpink-kill this love and ddu du ddu du also i really love forever young but it doesn’t have a music video but it’s a good song (you can also react to whistle,as if its your last, sour candy, kiss and make up,boombayah) and if you want to listen more kpop songs i suggest cl-hello bi+ches,hwasa-maria,(g)idle-oh my god these 3 are really really good 💓
i always cry when i'm listening to this song😭 and it made me cry more when you guys tried to explain the meaning of the lyrics 🥺 thank youuu for recognizing the pinks' talents!!! 🤍
One of the most detailed and genuine reaction,, I'm actually glad many people new to blackpink can watch this and a clearer view about the songs and maybe even become blink like fr thank you for this
