in the 60's and early 70's in the little country town in wv where i grew up their were 3-4 smithies around , old men that probly 40 years in already and had the stuff at home to do all they needed , i always loved hanging out with them and messing with the bellows a nd blowers and stuff . those old guy made their tractor parts and plow diggers and about every thing that could be made . i can imagine what it was like for the old timers in the 1700s fixing wagons and tools and such . i enjoyed your video , first one i had seen , ill check out your other videos
i made a karambit out of a boxed wrench once; that is the extent of my "forging"- so i didnt know what to expect at the end. didnt realize its a literal die for bending things and stuff on your table top. nice work.
Wowsers beautiful work. They turned out outstanding. Hopefully they get lots of use out of them. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friend. Forge On. Keep Making. God Bless.
Fantastic forging, as always. Before you bent the tines up, I was thinking the whole thing would make an excellent twisting wrench if you'd put a slot into what became the hardy stem. You'd have to make a whole range of different sizes, but they'd certainly look good hanging on the wall!
Clean and precise execution, you sir inspire :) Now how many more of those in diff sizes have you made/ need to make? Obviously not your first one ;) That stop block jig on the anvil of your hammers amazing! I need to make one of those!
Its a bending jig, at one point youll see him using one to make the second bend in that one...that one is for use in a hardy hole on a anvil or swage block. You can mae a simpler version thats not quite as strong by bending some round stock into a "U" shape and clamping it in a vise, that said the style hecmakes here is preferable, especially when used in conjunction with a acorn table...very useful for scrollwork
спросите у ГРИНПИС - сколько ущерба нашей Планете афтар нанес, производя эту деталь? в этом году виноградники в Альпах из-за него померзли? можно было эту работу произвести менее энергозатратно?
