I realized today when I said I don't know who would be using the mobile hotspot, I was not thinking about the fact that many tablets and laptops do not have 4G LTE and it would be very useful for passengers using device like those! Hi there. Can you give details on how it films with tinted windows and high heat? I live in Las Vegas and tinted windows are a must as it can get as high as 118.
@@DontCareBeare.5791 My rear window is about 25% tint, but my front window is not tinted. It is not legal in my state to have any tint on the front window. I also live in Minnesota so while it does get somewhat hot, 90-100 in the summer, its not as hot for as much of the year as Las Vegas. Sorry.
The plus model is just the upgrade to the non plus model. There is now a newer DR970X though that is replacing the 900X Plus this year. I have had it on hand for awhile but waiting on a firmware update to improve video quality before I post a review.
I got this one but with the IR interior camera because I want to make sure I capture anything that might happen at night. break ins etc. I drive a sports car so...
I want to hardwire mine. But I don't want to hook up to constant battery power. So do I need to hook up both wires yellow and red? I don't care about parking g mode
I have not tried that, but I suppose that would work. I wonder if you would even need to hook up the battery wire. Never had a reason to try it. But to be honest blackvue cams cost a lot due to their advanced parking mode and cloud features, its sort of a pricy cam to buy if you aren't going to take advantage of the features you are paying for. I might suggest the viofo 139 pro 4k 2 channel camera if you want 4k + 1080p for a cheaper price but still great quality.
I have the 750X LTE Plus too and that will likely be my next upload. I plan to do some comparison clips fist, then the full review shortly after. The plus series are all new for this year so I would not expect a new model until at the very least next fall. It was 2 years between the DR900S and DR900X.
@@integralcam I just got the 900xplu 2ch coming from a 1 ch 1080p is fine better than no camera. Curious about the 750 version. As I paid $490 with 3 yr warranty using the code
@@Oakcitymedia My new 750X LTE Plus review posted a few days ago does a side by side comparison with this 900X Plus. There were a few instances that 750X looked better, but majority of the time, pretty much all of the time during the day, the 900X was noticeably better if I paused it and tried to read plates. The 750X series are still good cams but its hard to wanna go back to anything less than 4k at this point.

Some 12v sockets are always on. I am testing the new DR970X-2CH and I have an always on cig lighter socket so parking mode still works. It doesn't instantly switch to parking mode like it does with the hardwire kit though, it switches after it senses the vehicle hasn't moved in 5 min. Then when it senses you are driving again it goes back to normal recording. this is how the older blackvue cams all worked and it still works if you have an always on socket.
Yes the Camera is great but the software is complete and utter shyte. Serious had to be an after though written by a ten your over morning breakfast. -BTW may have a great Cloud infrastructure if the blasted thing actually connect to the cloud.
I run the A119 V3 as my secondary main cam. Not really comparable since one is a single channel camera with no wifi or cloud features and less advanced parking mode. I do use the V3 as a second camera tho because it does have great video quality and I like having two front cams just incase. Maybe I should do a comparison? $100 basic 1440p camera vs $470 advanced 4k camera?
@@integralcam I’ve heard people are using Viofo a119 V3 as a front and rear dash camera to get the best recording results possible. But then I hear Viofo users say Viofo dash cams don’t last that long, you’re lucky if they last 3 years. So I’m curious about the reliability of a Viofo dash camera also. I’m currently running a Viofo a129 pro duo as a 2nd cam for the front, but I don’t know if it’s gonna last 4-5 years like a Blackvue. I might want a DR900X plus after seeing these results, but the rear camera is still only 1080p??
@@dashcamjourney4599I have heard of quality control with viofo, years ago I heard a lot got returned due to issues, but it seems most people still love them. Blackvue also has had issues in the past too so its hard to know which will last longer on average. Viofo, Blackvue, and Thinkware are my personal 3 favorite brands and are typically the models I use personally. I owned 2 vehicles for 3 years up until this spring when I sold one, but I used an A119 as a secondary front camera because their footage quality was great. But the parking mode in Viofo cams is hit or miss. If I could only have one cam I would use a blackvue or thinkware for their superior parking mode. That is just what I want though, I think a parking lot hit and run is just as likely to affect me as an accident while driving.
